My family is Shiite adhering to the 12 imams, so I’m intimately familiar with this faith. -
I actually do have a sincere question about normies. But can normies be naturally nice people? For normies, people who don't do spirituality or self-help work, does well mannered behavior, politeness, and being a nice happy person come from a genuine place, or is it all a mask? Is rudeness caused by an artificial environment? I know there's reports of simple tribal people and villagers being very polite to western observers.

Meet Zohran Mamdani: https://www.zohranfornyc.com/ He is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and a current candidate for the Mayor of New York City. This election is significant because he managed to close the polling gap between him and Cuomo by a significant margin. He used to be behind Cuomo 30+ points in the polls and now is now behind less than 10% points in the most recent polls. Even Vaush thinks that this guy is a genuine socialist and not a social-democrat, as he wants to create more city and employee owned enterprises in NYC, such as and most notably, grocery stores. If he actually wins this, it will be a huge victory for the socialist movement in America. A member of the DSA being the mayor of one of the most iconic and economically significant cities in the world? Eugene V. Debs would be so proud. But this is precisely why all of the centrist corporate wall street Dems, and have all endorsed Cuomo, despite him being shockingly bad due to his past sex abuse scandals and corruption. Cuomo is only popular because of his name recognition, and he is very well established in the Democratic Party's corrupt senior leadership, so the dinosaurs who make up that leadership don't want to see one of their chess pieces fall. For the centrist libs, maintaining their positions of authority, enriching themselves through corruption, and serving corporate interests is more important to them than serving the poor, which is why all of the big moneyed interests have donated to Cuomo's Fix the City Super PAC, including: Billionaires: Stavros Niarchos, Alex Blavatnik, Peter Schoenfeld, Henry Swieca, Bill Ackman, Barry Diller, John B. Hess, Matt Hulsizer, Kenneth Langone, William Lauder, Daniel Loeb, Deborah Simon, Alice Walton, Dan Loeb, Glenn Dubin, and Emma Bloomberg. Other high-profile donors: Billy Joel, Michael Kors, Stacey Bendet, Beth Dozoretz, Laurie Tisch, Antonio Weiss, Abby Levy, Jessica Seinfeld, Peggy Drexler, Jill Kargman, and Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel. Corporations and Organizations: DoorDash Inc., Fisher Brothers Management Company, The Durst Organization, Halmar International, Lyft, Including RXR Acquisition Corp, Centerview Partners, Charter Communications, and SkyBridge Capital.

What do you think of this video of an Israeli man trying to argue that the Jews never stole land from Palestinians, before the 1948 war. -

This is also a huge win for the larger socialist movement in America, our ideas are becoming more mainstream. -

Its really nice to see American politics become progressively more conscious and the major metropolitan cities, such as New York, gradually leave the closed Wall Street and NYSE ORANGE vMeme and evolve into an open GREEN system. I feel as if we're finally living up to the values of Leo's conscious politics series. -

What is the book's title going to be? And where can I buy it? -
@Leo Gura I definitely agree with Clarence. The way you write your book is not really professional or academic, but you swing the pendulum in the complete other direction and it comes off as too casual.

Personal property is different from private property. Private property refers specifically to specifically the means of production that the bourgeoisie uses to extract value from the proletariat. Personal property refers to personal belongings and possessions. Enjoy this explanation by an AI: In Marxism, private property refers to the means of production (land, factories, etc.) owned by private individuals or corporations, used to generate profit through wage labor. Personal property, on the other hand, refers to possessions for personal use, such as clothing, a toothbrush, or a house used for personal residence. Marxism critiques private property as the foundation of capitalism, leading to exploitation, while supporting personal property for individual use. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Private Property: In Marxist theory, private property is not simply about owning things for personal use. It's about the ownership of the means of production that allows one class (the bourgeoisie) to exploit another (the proletariat) by controlling the production process and appropriating surplus value. This system fosters inequality and class conflict. Personal Property: Marxists do not object to personal property. They acknowledge the need for individuals to own items for their personal use and enjoyment. This includes things like clothing, furniture, books, and even a house for living in, as long as it's not used to extract surplus value from others. Marxist Critique: The core of the Marxist critique lies in the idea that private property in the means of production creates an unequal power dynamic. This leads to exploitation, alienation, and social problems inherent in capitalism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_property The Wikipedia link above, scroll down to where it reads, Personal vis-à-vis private property. -

Personal property yes, but so did Communist regimes. Small business? Disputable. Is that small business owned by its employees? Or by the petite bourgeoise? -

This is false. The word democratic in democratic socialism refers to a liberal democratic multi-party system, so the means of production are still going to be publicly owned and private property largely abolished, but its going to come through and exist within a multi-party electoral system. Granted, democratic socialists are more so opposed to centrally planned state socialism, but that doesn't mean they support private enterprise, for which they largely don't. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_socialism Socialism, and even social democracy, is not about the welfare programs that the government provides, it has nothing to do with healthcare, its about employee ownership and employee self management. Democratic socialists and social democrats just disagree on the degree and scale. DemSocs wants it full 100%, whereas as SocDems want it, hypothetically lets say... 50% or less. -

Even to describe Scandinavia as socially-democratic is not accurate, as social democracy is worker self management within a capitalist market economy, which Scandinavia doesn't have. -
Husseinisdoingfine replied to Husseinisdoingfine's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Socialist direction? There’s so semblance of workplace democracy or employee ownership anywhere in Scandinavia. The public ownership of the means of production. -

None of the Scandinavian countries are properly Socialist. They are Capitalist economies with large welfare states.
