  1. @undeather I also saw these documentaries/ YouTubers who are 'Breathitarians' who knows maybe with the right practice and shit it could work, but for 99% of people as you said it isn't feesible, especially those who want to do more than meditate all day, which again is 99.9% of people, even those in this work. As a doctor, how do you think we can tackle the obesity crisis, even with friends who are athletes, they don't seem to care about eating a shit diet 24/7 and I have no idea how you could help someone like that, it seems as if it's only going to get worse!
  2. @Haumea2018 Yeah I get you. Although I think a John Lennon type hippie is less likely to commit 'evil' than say the CEO of an Oil company,as they are technically destroying the Earth, but as you say the full problem needs more Self-Realized people who can then go about tackling these issues with the understanding All is The Self, and from a basis of love instead of the basis of wanting power and greed etc.
  3. @Haumea2018 Oh yeah I don't mean in terms of seeking and self realization. I mean in terms of evolutionary/ developmental psychologically and understanding how people develop psychologically, it was never made for non duality so maybe the issue lies there?
  4. @Haumea2018 I agree about your SD points. I think its an awesome model that can help illustrate psychological development, and is great at what it does and hs many uses and can also be incredibly helpful in certain areas. But, like you said for those still seeking it needs to be dropped for a while like everything does, and then after it may return to be used as the tool it is to evaluate psychological development, but not as a Bible like it often is around here. Like all models, it has its uses, I think SD is one of the better models, but in terms of awakening, it can become another issue that you just can't seem to drop.
  5. @TDW1995 Yeah mate I'm only 20 and was 16-19 going through this, working with a teacher 1-1 helped me most, we think we can figure this out on our own but often it's much easier and smoother with a teacher. Take sport for example, you're going to improve a lot more working 1-1 with a coach on your personal game, then listening to a coach who is speaking to 100 people at once, as the 1-1 is tailored to you.
  6. @wesyasz Yeah of course, but I mean if you want to achieve things in life, this will usually involve some form of tracking or planning. The obvious being nutrition/ fitness. But, like I said very personal, many may not want to do that, and that's fine, just for those who want to achieve it would be much harder without proper planning and tracking.
  7. @Highest This is a big trap. You will still have a personality and still be 'You' on a human level, you will be more you than ever before and be who truly are. You will know yourself as The Self, The Absolute etc and rest here but can still live as an individual who has likes and dislikes, and a family etc. You can have your cake and eat it. This was one of my biggest fears, but post-awakening I am more me than ever before, also Enneagram work helps with this If someone calls your name you will still turn around!
  8. Enlightenment doesn't mean life ends, for me, it only truly began after awakening. It also won't solve all of lives problems, so unless your plan is to go live in a monastery and you want to be successful in anything, yes goals have their place. I have goals in most areas of life, Personal Development is still essential in my opinion if you want the best life possible, but everyone is different, I have very lofty business and personal goals because I'm very ambitious by nature, at the same time I'm completely happy, I'm doing everything in life (aside from practical reasons) because I want to and to express happiness, not to find happiness as many are. I think it's great to have huge goals, but then you need to break them down, everyone wants to be a millionaire but how are you actually going to get there step by step? I'd also say do things you actually enjoy. Career, Exercise, Relationships, make sure these are things YOU want to pursue, that's the key. Some people want to work for someone else, others want to be entrepreneurs, it's all about finding what YOU want, not what someone else wants. Of course track everything, if you start the gym, track the weights you lift and follow a program, that's how you get the best results in life in anything. Fail to plan and you plan to fail as the saying. An issue with getting into Enlightenment work is it's easy to disregard everything else, I almost did, but Personal Development is HUGELY important for the best life possible, enlightenment won't make your body in perfect health, your relationships as good as they can or your career perfect for example, so don't neglect these areas of life
  9. @TDW1995 Key mindset, everything is a meditation, effort is required until it becomes effortless, eventually you will see the Self is all, and that all is the self, look at the 10th Zen picture, the guy is living an ordinary life with flowers under his feet. The ordinary becomes extraordinary. It's amazing. However, I remember being where you are now, I wondered how I was going to maintain a job for my whole life, or whether I should stop playing sport etc etc, you'll come out on the other side soon
  10. @TDW1995 That's incredible man, Health > Everything so you should have no issue regaining focus on your career!
  11. Very common. Same happened to me, but now I love my career more than ever and am heavily focused on it, howveer when I was a hardcore seeker all i cared about was Non-Duality and Awakening, but you will go full circle eventually. You may also have to develop your career so the focus changes slightly especially if you are in an industry that hurts people, I had to upgrade my businesses but this doesn't mean you stop learning you just apply it better!
  12. Someone who is enlightened, can say they’re enlightened. Howveee the deepest realisations go beyond enlightenment?
  13. @Annoynymous Basically this. Its a combo of media campaign against Corbyn so average person despises him + no clear position on Brexit, he's fucked it for himself really. If he wanted to Leave he would've retained a LOT more seats, it was more of Labour losing their way than tories gaining. Or if he wanted to stay, as you say forming a coalition would have worked well. Sitting on the fence doesn't work and last night proved that yet again, I just hope we don't go back to 'New Labour' that the establishment likes.
  14. @Apparition of Jack Yep, that sounds about right. Growth is never easy, so growing to SD Green over here in the UK will be tough, too many with nationalist views atm, but the young generation are VERY green, so hopefully if that continues over the next 10-20 years, many more will follow suit. The rise of movements such as Veganism, Animal Rights, Workers Rights etc will all help spearhead people's growth!
  15. That's a good summary mate. But it goes way deeper due to the vested interests for Stage Orange and Blue, a development to Stage Green will never be easy, and this campaign proved that, we need a less radical leader I feel as this country isn't ready for Corbyn clearly! The problem is with that kind of majority we're looking at a decade of Boris Johnson, oh well. At least now Brexit is done, focus on real politics will be resumed, and maybe another 5 years of human development will see us ready for Green, the 18-30s are mainly Green so as that generation age and the younger generation come through as green, it's only a matter of time until we do evolve!
  16. Brexit and the fact the establishment made sure Corbyn was hated and regarded as a 'Commie' he probably was too radical. I'm most disappointed in that we are merely going backward with Brexit, it's based on nationalism, I was hoping Corbyn and Sanders would be the opening to Green the world needs, but clearly the consensus of Stage Blue and Orange aren't ready for that, even a lot of my frineds thought Labour were just promising stupid shit and lying despite 88% of Tory ads being lies. Oh well, we have another decade of Stage Orange conservatism, the only hope is that this is an Ego backlash and that people realize this can't be the way after this decade, and that Labor doesn't revert back to Conservatism with a Red tie. The Establishment have won again by using 3 words 'Get Brexit Done' and for whatever reason people care more about that then they do evolving as a country. But, with the education we're given, the Media being owned by Billionaires and the shaming of any form of Socialism and the Working Class, what else did we expect? It's more about evolving people, and even Labour constituencies chose nationalism over progressive politics, it shows us the level of development in this country, unfortunately, oh well, long way to go until we see progressive politics! @Leo Gura is there any hope for Bernie in 2020, is he likely to win and help the US begin to develop at least?
  17. Clearly Ralston just hasn't awakened the hart like 100s of other Non-Duality teachers, as Leo says there are manyfacets to awakening and not every teacher is finished, Ralston is one who is definitely not 'finished' so to speak, not shitting on him as his students clearly benefit from him, but just because someone is a teacher doesn't mean they are fully awakened. This is why I constantly recommend truly Self Realized beings to read and watch to understand what full self realization looks like. Eastern Examples- Ramana Maharshi, Nisgardatta Maharaj Western Examples- Rupert Spira, Adyashanti (more recent stuff), Ramaji and Francis Lucille Of course there's many more more but these are just examples of the top of my head. When you open yourself to love, your whole view on the 'world' changes yet again!
  18. @Raptorsin7 Most of it was from working with my teahcer, at this point I've only dived deeply into my own type to help with awakening. If you want to learn more defo PM me cos I don't wanna hijack the thread either, there's lots of great books. I'd also say just research the 9 types, you can do the Full test online as well, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. It's defo an amazing tool, for example Ramana Maharshi and Eckhart Tolle are Enneagram 9s hence the 'peace' vibe whereas Nisgardatta was an 8 hence the shouting and swearing, understand this helps you understand different teaching styles and personalities etc
  19. @Raptorsin7 The best analogy I heard from my teachers is this work is like this: You start with an extremely muddy car window. bit by bit the water is washing away this mud, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, but eventually you will see so clearly that the window will be perfectly clean, and this will be enough. Don't feel disheartened if this isn't enough yet, seek until you no longer feel the need to, even the slightest bit of lack is a sign to keep going, you'll know when you've arrived. @VeganAwake You sound like you're doing awesome man! And as others have said THIS only gets better and better the deeper we expand into it, also there's no limit to our love and expressing love!
  20. Awesome shit man, I love how you mentioned the practical side which many miss, and that's something for if I eventually become a teacher working with people I will always emphasise, as even after having awakenings I've realized the importance of the ordinary, actually the ordinary has become extraordinary but that's for another day. Things like Nutrition, Health, Fitness, Business, Relationships etc are also important and fucking great, I think for us westerners a 'Tantric' path that involves life is perfect. By Tantra I don't mean wild orgies but LIFE and embracing LIFE and enjoying every moment of it. Of course a basis of being a loving and kind person is essential for this, but I'm kinda taking that for granted. Also love the point of the 'don't do that cos it's low consciousness' if you want to go have friends with your mates and have a few drinks from time to time, or love playing a sport, you fucking should and enjoy it, this whole 'low consciousness' dig doesn't sit well with me at all if I'm honest. I disagree on certain aspects regarding 'Finishing' Spiritually, imo there's an end to 'seeking' and what begins is a love long expansion of deepening of rest in the absolute, and expanding our love, and of course doing our individual work. To me live only begins at this point, as once you live as The Absolute through this human, everything only becomes more sweet, even though the world doesn't actually exist and is The Self, what a paradox we live in- it's awesome. You seem like someone I'd get on with well, who wants to cut through a lot of the bullshit we see in this Non-Duality community (not just here) This is it, life is fucking amazing and should be lived to the full to each of our own desires. Awesome post.
  21. @undeather No need to get so defensive man, I just know people whos lives have been ruined by drugs (including Psyches) so tend to stay on the side of caution. A lot of the time people need more fundamental work than just a Shroom/ Acid trip, that's all, I like to look at things holistically. Like I said, when used properly Psyches can help people in amazing ways as you said, and I can't wait until they are properly administered for things such as Depression. And, if they helped you I'm super glad. Can you explain how they helped and the optimal way to actually help people with them? ANy resources to learn more. Beforehand, I knew they were great for insights into awakening, have heard MDMA's usage in PTSD therapy, Microdosings effects etc, but I would like to understand much more. I've also become a bit bias against them as I believe there are more efficient and safer ways to facilitate ones awakening, that's all
  22. Second what Leo said, as in find what works for you. Awakening doesn't mean you have to live in solitude, it might for some people of course. It could mean you throw yourself into the world and find a whole new group of friends, girlfriend etc. You don't have to talk about this stuff, I hardly/ never talk about awakenings, non-duality, personal dev with my mates because none of them ask/ don't want to hear it, just like I don't shove veganism down their throat. IF they ask about something I'm more than open to discuss it. It's more than okay to have interests outside of this btw, and once you 'finish' seeking unless you become a teacher of some sort you'll probably have an ordinary life. Like Rupert Spira and his teacher Francis Lucille NEVER talk about this stuff anymore as they have no need to and are 'normal' friends who often play tennis together for example. My teacher(s) live an ordinary life with each other, she actually has 3 kids, so that has its own challenges lol. For me I'm an enneagram type 7 and LOVE socialising, I go out most weekends with my friends/ Girlfriend, but I work from home, so that's my main form of social contact. In the winter for obvious reasons I'm inside a lot, but in summer during Cricket season I'm outside most eveings and weekend so socialise even more, if anything this work has improved my social skills massively. I feel people often underestimate how individual this work can be, depending on so many factors, so find what works best for you. One last thing is get out of your comfort zone, as a 7 I like to always be busy so I make sure to take time to spend alone and meditate and feel my emotions etc, whereas a 5 could hibernate all year so should really be going out socialising to improve their lives, its often the things we don;t want to do that will help us grow the most, and working with the Enneagram helped me understand why I didn't love meditation straight away and preferred reading/ watching to actually doing the work etc!
  23. @seeking_brilliance That's awesome then man! I'm glad Psyches helped you, hopefully they'll be legal and registered under supervision to help more people get them kind of results. I'm also glad you mentioned the Holistic side of things, as that's still very important imo.
  24. @herghly hmm potentially. Could be too early though, he seems heavily devoted to his LP and I'm not sure right now anything needs to get in the way of that
