@modmyth hmmm maybe not controversial but I thought many would have let's say objections, I often think it's more of a language thing and how certain terms are used and people use them differently. I guess it's because when Non-Dual teachers say 'There is nobody there' (which is true) people then start to deny their humanity, and ignore the human side of awakening. The scariest story I heard was a teacher saying the 'highest spiritual state' is having no thoughts or feelings and basically being numbed out, aka becoming a narcissist. So, I thought I'd make a post that it's okay to have feelings, thoughts, be a human and have a personality and be a unique being, while also KNOWING you aren't The Ego and when you investigate you will never find anyone there. It's so delicate and hard to explain, but in essence, it means you get to be a human and know you are The Self. @Consilience Thank you mate -

The Best way I have heard to phrase some of these issues- 'It has the form and function of ego but not the substance and reality.' That basically summarises what I said, maybe I should've just wrote that lol. Also in terms of what changes, everything is seen to have 'Infinite precious value' no matter what arises, the 'ordinary' becomes the extraordinary so to speak, and every moment is a spontaneous joy, it is like duality and awareness merge in one fantastic blow and they are seen to be exactly the same thing, again hard to put into words. I've also seen the term 'Transcendental Individuality' which kind of helps explain how having a unique human personality and being a human, yet KNOWING you are Natural Pure Awareness/ The Absolute. You get to have your cake and eat it Yes, you can know yourself and BE natural pure awareness, yet retain your sense of being a person and having a unique human identity and a full personality, meaning you can do whatever you wish and enjoy life like never before. There is nobody like you in this world, Yet you are all that exists, do you see why it's near impossible to write about this?# You become more human than before, not less and it is more than beautiful, in fact the beauty is indescribable. -

@VeganAwake Well it’s like a challenge so most of the major restaurants and pubs are jumping in on its fun! haha If you, your wife and 3 kids can fit in my room then why not ??? also, I’ve always wondered, what’s awakening like in terms of having a family? I have a girlfriend but kids and a family is a whole different ballgame, like how do you approach parenting knowing your Kids are you, yet when they’re causing havoc, definitely something I want in the future also! -

“Rupert: Awakening is the realisation that what we are, that is, the Awareness that is seeing these words and experiencing whatever else is being experienced at this and every moment, is neither limited nor located. This realisation does not happen to a body or a mind. It happens to itself, Awareness. Yes, until this realisation, we believe that what we are is a limited and separate entity located in and as a body. With this belief and subsequent feeling, our true nature seems to be veiled, just as a screen seems to be veiled by the appearance of an image on it. With this apparent veiling of our true nature, the peace, happiness and love that are inherent in it seemed to be lost. From that moment on the apparent entity is condemned to search in the apparent separate world for peace, happiness and love. The recognition of our true nature brings this search to an end and reveals itself as the peace, happiness and love that seemed to have been lost. The feeling ‘at that moment’ has no objective qualities. It is more like a falling away. Have you ever felt love for someone? Of course, yes. What does that feel like? I do not mean to ask about the effect it has on the mind or the body, but the love itself. Are we not lost for words if we try to find it as an object, let alone describe it? But we know beyond all doubt that it is present and real. Do not look for awakening in any kind of objective experience of the mind or the body. If you want to look for any signs, look in the direction of peace, happiness and love. Yes, my view of the world changed completely. First of all it became clear that the world appears in me. Later it became clear that the world is made of me, that is, made of Awareness. And then it became clear that experience and Awareness are simply ‘not two.’ The realignment of the mind and the body with this clear seeing takes time and varies from case to case. “ -

Meaningless is the greatest gift of all, as it completely frees YOU up to do what YOU want to. You create your own life’s meaning and you get to decide how you want to live it, post awakening these “desires” will come from love and a place of higher consciousness, so you won’t hurt people for example, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create financial freedom, have an abundance of sexual partners or do whatever you want. -

Just sit with it mate, it is not easy unfortunately, but Learning to be with and completely embrace EVERY thought and emotion is a key part of this journey. I know exactly what you mean, I used to find sitting with sadness, or that feeling of lack so difficult, the paradox is when you fully accept it, you allow the feeling to flourish, have its dance and pass through you, you fully feel it and let it go. Im not going to lie and say it’s easy, but whenever it arises allow it to be just as it is, with complete acceptance. Think of yourself as a guest house to your thoughts and emotions, treat them all with love and kindness, how you’d treat a guest if you owned a guesthouse -

@cetus56 thank you for sharing that, as I said LOCs, RASA I merely use them as suggestions as it it whats worked for me, I can’t really comment on Psyches as I have minimal experience, but if that is someone’s path and it’s working I’m happy for them. At the end of the day it’s all about truth and happiness, and luckily realization of the self kills 2 birds with 1 stone ? (@VeganAwake don’t worry I’d never actually kill a bird, also Vegan my friend, in fact it’s “Veganuary” over here in the UK?) And, yes everything, in every moment is perfect as it is no matter what is happening, life is unfolding perfectly in every moment. And, since there is only Now, nothing has ever really happened, just THIS. -

@Gneh Onebar haha I know what you mean, but even 2-3 years was like hell to me, also didn’t help I had a B12 deficiency through part of it which added to the depression ? Youll eventually drop all the minds stories, along with the I-thought, which is at the centre of the entanglement of the mind. And, then, when you realize there’s no mind, thoughts and emotions and sensations will happen, but not to anyone as such, just in THIS, I mean it’ll feel like it’s happening to someone, but when you investigate the centre of these thoughts and emotions all that is there is Natural Pure Awareness. And, as you accept everything that arises, thoughts or emotions are no longer a problem to you, just clouds in the beautiful Sky of awareness, and guess what? Since all is The Absolute, thoughts and emotions are part of that too? @VeganAwake Exactly, no I-thought left, just THIS as it is, in all of its glory and perfection. Ignorance is bliss as a seeker, but I wouldn’t trade this in for the world if it meant going back to the old way of being Pre-Awakening, nothing can beat the spontaneous joy of being. -

@VeganAwake and the truth goes far deeper than a realization of No Self? -
LfcCharlie4 replied to LfcCharlie4's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Inliytened1 lol. @VeganAwake by your logic anyone that does anything is from Ego. I don’t care about LOCs, I merely use it as a model, and I’m just trying to point out awakening goes deeper then Eckhart, Parsons, Fred etc, Not all awakenings are the same depth, and the recent posts are trying to illustrate “life after awakening.” I have not once said there is a me or a you, all there is is The Self. but it often comes across you subtly reject the human experience, and believe if one wants to live a normal life this is somehow ego. not all motivation and desire comes from the same place, not all are Ego, wanting to receive for the self alone is of course ego. by your definition Leo creating Actualized.org is spiritual ego, and any teacher wanting to help people is ego, you’re basically defining everything as ego. In terms of enlightenment I don’t disagree with you. To me Enlightenment is the realisation of The Self/ awarensss/ the absolute being all there is, and then a complete acceptance of whatever arises without any resistance to the Now. but as I said there isn’t just 1 awakening and there’s depths to this work, self realised masters like Rupert and Nisgardatta often talk about “stages” of understanding. And, I asked are you telling me if someone calls your name you won’t turn around and do you have no desire at all then? -

Lol, may as well @ me mate, I know you love Non Duality videos ? -
LfcCharlie4 replied to LfcCharlie4's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@VeganAwake you completely missed my points, Desire will continue. are you telling me you no longer have any desire in life? without it you’d be dead and if you use spirituality as a reason to not workout, eat healthy, improve your finances, develop your career etc then that that merely seems like a form of spiritual bypassing. i never once said something NEEDS to be done or be different, everything is perfect as it is. Yet, if you’re overweight, on a RELATIVE level yes you should probably go workout and eat healthier, just because you have now awakened does not change that. This is nothing to do with doing this stuff = happiness, as you said when you realise Non Duality = Duality, and the distinction is shattered you are free to play the game how you like. If you don’t want to do any of these things, nobody is saying you have to, you can just coast through life, have a simple existence and be happy, again like I said this is very dependent on the person and their personality/ enneagram type. Maybe you’re a 9, if you just want to rest in bliss/ peace forever, that is fine you do you. However, just because someone is active in the world, does not for one second mean they suddenly aren’t awakened. Rupert Spira often talked about the inner and outer understanding. Inner is pretty self explanatory, but outer is bringing your understanding of The Self into all realms of life, such as work, sex, etc. It does not mean you’re doing these things to BECOME happy, you’re simply doing them as you WANT to and for the fun of it, to EXPRESs happiness so to speak, do you get the difference? desire also evolves as I pointed out in the last post, im Not gonna go over it again. You can’t and never will stop desire, otherwise you will die, if you have zero desires you would never feed yourself, drink, go to work, meditate, do literally anything, there is a common misunderstanding of desire in spiritual communities, a lot relating back to the Buddha being falsely translated. Please don’t try and remove desire from your life, it is beautiful to express desire that comes from love and The Self, and is beautiful to experience life in all its forms. Not everything that isn’t watching Non duality videos, meditating or talking about Awakening is Ego, it’s okay to do other things, when you go full circle you realize spontaneous joy of ordinary life is absolutely beautiful. -

@Display_Name @Consilience Fair play to the geeza if people pay it, coming up on 71 this year and still raking in the $$$. On a serious note, that seems very expensive, but if he's charging it, people are obviously paying it. @Chumbimba I mean if you're a student you're probably better off looking at other ideas mate, the price barrier must be there for a reason. -

@Display_Name Yeah, it's not as intense as say Psychedelic peaks, but the description as a gradual purging process is perfect, there is still work to be done alongside RASA as their is with any practice of course. -
LfcCharlie4 replied to LfcCharlie4's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Display_Name You literally just summed up the 3 things I was most concerned of aged 17 when I first got into this stuff, especially when reading Buddhist masters, Monks, Ramana etc who are all celibate, I knew that wasn't for me. (Incoming well you're not awake then ) I take a very tantric approach to life, as in EVERYTHING is the absolute so why not enjoy 'duality' and the play of life however you on a human level want to. 1) Desire is fundamental to life, without desire you wouldn't survive, or wouldn't bother surviving. However, I touched on this above, desire 'evolves' from receiving for the self alone, to receiving for the sake of sharing. So for example, in business I am more focused than ever on satisfying the customers needs, as we evolve as a society business will also evolve and shady practices like payday loans, insurance scammers etc will gradually lessen, and those providing this kind of value will get the rewards they deserve. So, for me desire to grow my business and become financially free has actually grown, as before I was kind of 'blocking' it thinking Spirituality& Money don't go together, which is complete BS, money is simply another form of energy, Like anything, it's the consciousness behind it that matters, serving your customers and receiving money as a result is a perfect example of the desire to receive for the sake of sharing. So, yes awakening has actually increased my desire, Ramaji& Ananda have done some awesome satsangs on this. If you love something and have a passion for business, and your desire is coming from love and to help people and improve people's lives, then there is nothing wrong with growing a huge business no matter what is in. Of course the key here is that the desire is coming from LOVE. That is actually the key to all of this. 2) Ambition has only skyrocketed to be honest, if anything I have more 'belief' in myself than ever that I can achieve whatever I set my mind to, when you realize the power of the universe is behind you, and you can harness that (sounds woo woo but stick with me) your level of belief skyrockets. So, go after your goal, be ambitious, there are no limits to what you can achieve. Again, notice the difference if this is coming from love and a loving consciousness as you won't be using typical Stage Orange tactics to get ahead. I am expecting backlash for saying these things, but at this point I couldn't care less. 3) Similar, I'm 20 so it's probably normal for a 20 year old guy. If anything I have some work to do in this area regarding porn, and expressing my sexuality in my relationship. The issue was I actually demonised sexuality for a while due to believing celibacy was a must for this path, I'm sure for some people it helps, but you don't HAVE to be celibate. Again, it develops and you become more loving, so will be much more giving than before potentially. It also doesn't mean you can't do whatever you like, as I said some may become celibate, but some may become more active potentially with multiple partners. However, again you probably aren't going to manipulate girls into sleeping with you like a typical PUA would, and would be much more conscious of the 'others' feelings and emotions as you see them as yourself, therefore, as I said won't 'use' them. Basically, your desire will evolve and come from a much more conscious and loving place, if things drop away naturally let it be, but people often try to FORCE desire to and just end up suppressing things and growing their shadow. I mean, look at Catholic priests, and even Buddhist monks who have forcefully repressed their sexuality and the wreckage that has caused. Compare that to someone like Ramana, who naturally allowed sex to fall away. Sure not everyone will want to build a business or have a family etc, but what you have to figure out what YOU want, there's no simple answer here. Some will be happy on the mountain in a diaper (Usually Enneagram 9s- Eckhart& Ramana types) other will want to build a business, be a professional athlete, become a doctor etc, there are no set rules for awakening. A lot has to do with your personality, the Enneagram has helped me a lot in understanding myself on a human level, none of the online tests are great unless you pay for a full one, but read about the 9 types and you might figure out your type. Eventually, I'll make a post on the Tantric way of life in relation to spirituality as a westerner. -

When you go full circle, you'll realize ordinary life is the extraordinary and hobbies are a part of that, every moment becomes the spontaneous joy of being, no matter what you are doing. I remember being where you are, good luck! -

@Chumbimba @Leo Gura mean I pay my teacher for 1-1 sessions, but why is Peter Ralstons programmes 15k out of interest, does he have a rationale behind it, I have nothing against people earning from this as you know, but 15k per person for 2 weeks seems a lot of cash. Am I missing something? -
LfcCharlie4 replied to LfcCharlie4's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Byun Sean RASA is strange in that it doesn’t always lead to incredible peak experiences instantly, It. “Happened” several days after a session. but, most importantly the depth and ability to transmit and “be loving” has no end whatsoever and is forever a deepening process. I can’t remember where I heard this but if you look at people in the world, those happiest are those who give and love the most, they receive for the sake of sharing and are always sharing everything, and spreading love etc, and as a result are in tune with the natural ways of the universe and desire. Today, many people receive for the sake of themselves alone, and this of course isn’t the same thing. I got a bit side tracked, but my point is there is no end to the deepening and spreading of infinite love on a relative level, and it doesn’t mean you have to dedicate your life feeding homeless people, but can be in the simplest of things -
LfcCharlie4 replied to LfcCharlie4's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@cetus56 could one not argue, the purpose of life is to be happy, come from a place of love and enjoy yourself and have fun. Of course attempting to improve humanity simultaneously, hence the coming from a place of love. Would you really want to go through your life without being happy, and would you regard that an amazing life? All I know is I’ve been ridiculously depressed, and now absolutely happy and at peace, and I know which I prefer ? So, for me, yes happiness is a key ingredient to the best life possible, and lays the foundations. I would also add, the greatest masters have always spoken about Happiness, peace, an unbreakable silence, end of suffering etc, therefore, while truth is of course fundamental on this path, happiness and peace seems a clear part of the path. I may even go as far to suggest if you aren’t stabilised in absolute peace and happiness there is deeper to go. im not saying you’ll never have a negative emotion or thought, or never have a mood again though, of course not. What I am saying is recognising the absolute and living from the Self, brings “absolute” happiness and a an unbreakable silence. -

LfcCharlie4 replied to Erixoon50's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@VeganAwake Meditation, Yoga, Inquiry when used effectively can still be amazingly useful though bro, however the common person meditating isn’t looking for much more than something like reduced anxiety for example. A meditation I love is “Natural Pure Awareness” meditation, essentially it’s sitting there and allowing everything, and welcoming all your thoughts, emotions etc like a guest house. Essentially what you’re doing is allowing the natural background of awareness to come forward in your experience, as you know, awareness is forever present yet 99.9% of people are completely oblivious, why? Obsession with their thoughts, emotions and there “content” so they miss the most obvious thing of all. and, the most beautiful thing of all. The Self is all there is, yet, many still believe them self is all there is, 1 extra letter, huge difference. -

@Aaron p Psychedelics are great for insights, however, it's all about your level of consciousness now, in every moment, not just for an hour(s). If you can integrate then that's an awesome tool and I'm glad you found something so effective! However, looking at it from both sides, there is a lot of trip reports on here but not many truly awakened beings, however, they clearly help give people incredible insights and can 'spearhead' one's journey, but they certainly guarantee nothing at all and have to of course be used correctly, especially for those of us under 25 we really need to be careful, remember they are still Drugs.
