  1. @EternalForest click bait on a small forum?
  2. No, he is one of the biggest artists in the world. If he wasn’t famous you wouldn’t care who or what he said. Anyway, he’s clearly unwell and ruining his own life right now.
  3. @StarStruck G mindset instead of being a broke ass sissy
  4. @Carl-Richard Maybe, as we speak I am looking at Thich Nhat Hanh’s “The Heart of The Buddha’s Teaching” He seems to be saying that we use the system of the four noble truths and the 12 turnings of the wheel to intelligent understand and heal suffering in all its finite forms.
  5. @Carl-Richard isn’t the first noble Truth suffering? I don’t think it’s whether or not you had things
  6. Sorry I didn’t mean to be picky or whatever. I just think Buddhism, or Buddha taught more than, or his main teaching was beyond simply “having things doesn't fulfil you”. You are right about him teaching ‘being’. But there’s the 4 Noble Truths, the 12 turnings of the wheel, the 8 elements of the path in Buddhism, and all the different aspects of consciousness he taught about. Seemed like Buddha was really trying to teach the Good Life. I think he also returned to his family after like 7 years or something. I was really just pointing to the “things don’t make you happy” being his main dealio. Plus, there’s only really streams or ripples/ echoes of his teachings remaining and those who continued to contribute.
  7. @Carl-Richard Over simplifying the Buddha’s teaching with pop culture
  8. I used to think this… but, whatever the case I don’t wanna get caught completely useless
  9. So beautiful wow The AI is already too powerful
  10. @Danioover9000 at least AI doesn’t complain hehehe jk
  11. @Fleetinglife “what’s a mob to a king? what’s a king to a God? What’s a God to a non believer? who don’t believe in anything?”
  12. @John Iverson 1. Bookshelf, books, journals, pens, reading lists 2. What are you trying to create? Buy/ research relevant software or tools. Then go buy a reasonably price course and commit to completing it. Then, create little projects. 3. I personally am still figuring out a system that works for me. I currently use a mixture of google suite for calendar and email, One Note for common place book, remarkable tablet for distraction free contemplation and self reflection and Notion for planning. I use Intuit and an excel sheet, and a basic physical purchase journal as I am building out my own own personal financial system. I’m still refining my infrastructure. I think it’s probably best overall to keep it simple.
  13. @Michael569 Yeah, idk I think I’ve read it’s quickly becoming one of the largest platforms with people not only watching the completely dumb as fuck shit on it but also higher quality stuff. It’s probably more a reflection of people than the platform, but idk
  14. With all the shit in there can I be a force for good?
  15. @bmcnicho Interesting. What didn’t you agree with? Is it completely true what you are saying? There are harsh realities of people having different opportunities but does that change that some people provide more value than others? There are also plenty of people of equal potential opportunity who make vastly different decisions and end up with more or less in society. I have to rematch this part of the video. I felt like he made some statements which clarify he realized that people have different access to opportunities. He also points out that… it could be hundreds of years before everyone has equal access to educated etc and that this is a harsh reality if the world we live in. That people on left think it should already be the case everyone has this access but they don’t take into account how new a lot of this infrastructure is even.
  16. There’s a lot of bad things that can happen in life. Having your life ruined from rape, or a false accusation sucks. However your life, reputation or mental health gets harmed is unfortunate. I think going to jail and being labeled a rapist by your community is pretty bad. But, so is being raped and then not believed and labeled a liar or trouble maker. Both can ruin your life. A ruined life is an unfortunate reality some people must face. Obviously losing your freedom due to a false accusation is near murder, maybe worse because you likely will experience a lot of psychological suffering. The whole discussion around consent, boundaries, what’s rape and what isn’t rape is confusing and scary for lot of men. The possibility of being accused of rape when you don’t think you raped scares a lot of people. I know that may sound absurd but… I think this is true anyway. Just look at people new to pick up for example. People are so scared of even talking to a girl in case they get attacked or police called on them. So too does the possibility of being raped and then all the strugggles and difficulties that come with the aftermath of trying to get justice. The Me Too movement and people being able to come forward is important. But, just like literally all areas of human life there is good and bad, truth and untruth and it’s messy. This is a painful difficult area. Be patient and allow recontextualization to happen. There’s so much work to be done in this area… relationships, sex, consent etc… Being a man and a woman literally come with different risks. It’s not going to be perfectly symmetrical. There’s plenty of asymmetrical elements in these social dynamics at play.
  17. @StarStruck wow, that’s actually me in the video
  18. @bmcnicho I’d like to know more about the specifics that cause you concern about his videos. Leo’s reach isn’t gonna change an election I doubt it, at least not this year. I consider myself on the left. There’s plenty of problems with the left. Don’t we want people on both the left and right to self reflect on their short comings? The left needs to be able to understand the right as well as a lot of the structural things about their own world views vs how the world really works.
