  1. We live in a toxic, traumatized and ill culture where addiction is omnipresent. It just depends in the form it takes. I’m not free of them. Maybe a bit of food and phone addiction to be addressed. I smoked weed for many years and it was an addiction. I also have dealt with anxious avoidant attachment style, so. I was using that drug, and even music and life purpose to chase the love I felt I couldn’t find. @Danioover9000 I don’t know man. I had to think about it when he asked. But, decided I would as I value the health of the forum too. Just keep contributing as you are. It doesn’t matter. I used to want to be a moderator and sometimes felt the same when I say others get mod status. I almost said no… I want to do it for the right reason. We will see how it goes. I want to be in integrity and humility. As long as I sense this is maintaining I will happily be a mod. Yeah, painkillers can be useful. I used basic pain killer… Tylenol cold when I had Covid. Went three days no Tylenol and it was hell. I am not against painkillers, but interested in solving crisis that destroy entire towns and parts of cities. It’s likely not just the drugs themselves but… our toxic culture. So much pain, loneliness, and people who have no sense of feeling connected or loved. If there was more love, connection, holistic health in our society I don’t think these crisis would happen. - the video is also interesting when you think about systems thinking. When the company who made Oxy made the drugs harder to snort and inject it actually led people to more dangerous street drugs. Solutions to these problems needs to be holistic. It’s also a symptom of a spiritual crisis in the west. From indigenous in Canada dealing with the abuse of colonization and residential schools, to the 1/3 of Americans who were sexually abused, to the young men and women who grew up with an incarcerated parent… there is a lot of pain out there, a lot of people looking for love and wholeness. People fall into drugs, addictions, distractions, cults, following influencers like Tate, ideologies etc… trying to find Love, to find a footing on reality. People are looking for love, truth, beauty, connection, meaning, clarity, freedom from suffering, community, purpose, to feel good, etc… Are people looking for God? I have a song “ Cuz you wanna buy a home, just like you wanna buy true love…But baby, you don’t know what love is, and maybe you don’t know what truth is…” People are looking for truth and love, or at least clinging to whatever golden calf they find. “Please, just take away the pain”
  2. @bensenbiz no, similar but different as well
  3. You will tend to want to fall back to what you are used to. It’s a pretty common feeling. Try doing daily visualization of you successfully doing this. It will feel weird but sit and just visualize for 5 minutes a day you learning to code. Also try this short 30 minute exercise: Write out all the part of the failure mind set then, write out all the parts of the mindset you know will let you succeed. The ego gets pleasure holding onto being a failure. You are getting something by failing which is the pleasure of “ I could have it is I tried because maybe you fear the responsibility. It’s easier to imagine how smart we are, then to face daily just how much work is ahead of us. Do not quit. Consider getting a life coach.
  4. @Danioover9000 It’s worth watching the video if you haven’t already. Addiction is also a complicated subject in general. The video shows how these medicines we over prescribed, there was false advertising and low income hard working communities were targeted. It was largely a for profit drive. In many cases these powerful painkillers are not necessary. Yeah, a painkiller can be useful. We are also making a lot of assumptions about pain, and what treatments exist. It’s not one sided. Perhaps the wide spread addiction goes beyond simply blaming the opioid and instead should look at all the pain, trauma, and illness present in western society. I know Gabor Mate has a book…. Here is a talk I haven’t listen to but I’m familiar with Gabor Mates work just as I get into it. I was asked if I wanted to be a Mod and said sure.
  5. Be wary of being a zen devil. Try not to confuse God, with a finite Ego. Though, they are one. God in it’s purest sense is not biased in this way.
  6. @bensenbiz Just different views
  7. Please consult the professional who prescribed them to you.
  8. @Juan idk, Martin has his own way of working with the energy and finding a sense of balance or whatever
  9. @Leo Gura Ahah, and Martins “God” voice He enjoys it, let him be. I find myself doing a little bit of movement similar but I’m not thinking much of it.
  10. @Leo Gura Scary. Basically assume if you sell drugs you will get arrested. Don’t do it. In Canada there are so many online mushroom shops. Many have been around for years. Occasionally they get shut down. Very strange.
  11. If it is a church, was are the laws around freedom of religion in the US? Very sketchy when it comes to substances….
  12. Looks like the church sells it at 300$ an ounce. Seems like a gram is a big dose according to Martin sooo…. 10 bucks a trip?
  13. @Leo Gura for selling? I think we made need to remove the link for sourcing concerns. I removed link, let me know if anyone has any problem with that.
  14. @Eyowey People can be themselves. But, if someone is talking to you and if you notice yourself getting triggered. Wanting to fight back, prove yourself, put another down, prove you are right, make yourself feel smarter by calling another stupid, defend, name call, harass… then… you should kindly add that person to your ignore list and take some time to relax. When things turn into personal attacks is the problem… There is nothing here worth fighting someone over. Of course there are exceptions and sometimes we can have healthy conflicts here but you have to develop that wisdom to be able to tell the difference between healthy constructive conflicts and toxic petty human stuff.
  15. Yeah, these are my thoughts. Martin has written a number of books on 5meodmt. It’s like his favourite thing to think and talk about. He even has a podcast called “Entheogenic Evolution” where he talks with all kinds of people about it. The truth will come out about it eventually. I know little about it. But, would be interested in the longer trips.
  16. @Bob Seeker Study safety protocols. Ideally you are tripping in a clean, comfy space with no dangerous objects. However cautious you think you should be, be more so. Put knives and scissors away. NEVER harm your body or others. There’s no need to move around either. The trip will end. Relax. There’s nothing physical to do during trip. Make a safety protocol and add to it.
  17. Each teacher offers different style, information, aesthetic, insights and tends to be stronger in certain areas than others. You can only know by spending time listening/ reading from them. It may be worth while to explore with an open mind. I found the more I listened around the more synergistic each teacher became as I grew to understand a bigger picture of the spirituality/ self help territory. I personally found Leo’s teachings to be my favourite overall, but that doesn’t mean there’s not loads of value in other perspectives. I even hesitate to pick a favourite. Also, you go through a process of seeing things in new light as you listen and grow as a person. One teacher or topic may not make sense or be of value today but may be tomorrow. Leo offers a very strong teaching. Which should be supplemented with reading diverse perspectives, listening to other gurus and met with practice and direct experience. In my opinion it’s worth being objective, curious and looking for the big picture. It’s a long term process.
  18. Hey, I am sure people would like to respond to you about this. I notice when people write a little paragraph at least on their topics they tend to get more responses. Maybe try to edit this topic with a little more detail about what you are feeling, what you are noticing and what you would like some guidance with. For future posts as well try to put a little more thought. A one sentence topic gives the forum very little to work with. But, at least a short paragraph or two will help you and the forum more. A topic like “How do I stop being annoying?” Is a great journaling and contemplation question as well. There is a lot of ways to look at this. The more you take time to contemplate, or journal these the more answers you will find for yourself.
  19. @Rafael Thundercat a dream of a world with others. Simple
  20. Basically he takes 4 capsules, totalling a gram of 4HO-5Meo. He trips from about 11am to 230 before it starts mellowing out. Says you can break through with it, overall very pleasant and beautiful. I’d like to learn more about what exactly is this edible mushroom 5meodmt.
  21. Haven’t actually watched it just thought it was cool. Heard him mention on podcast. Will listen.
  22. It was nothing original or different
  23. I don’t blame anyone for feeling scared. Leo, and all the stuff people fear of him are reasonable. We should all be wary of Guru’s and people teaching things of less trodden nature.
  24. Idk, nerdy tasty bits I found this entertaining and thought you may like it.
