@kieranperez Are you saying unconditioned experiences only happen under the right conditions? 5meodmt not being one of them? Trying it once isn’t enough! Meditating once isn’t enough! -
This is an interesting documentary because it was filmed with those who committed the genocide re-enacting how they did it.

@Av2521 Confusion is part of the toxicity.

@Magnanimous Hubspot has good intro courses to help you understand the industry. That could help you. There are a lot of different approaches depending on the type of sales and your position.

This motivates me! My life makes it hard to socialize right now between my life purpose goals and travelling for work. But, I’ll figure it out!

It’s very sad. The genocide and then the guilt and shame of those who committed it. Very eye opening film. -

@Ishanga Do you think if you were kept awake for 48 hours chained into a stress position in a CIA torture camp with no sense of time that you wouldn’t suffer unless you chose to? -
I’d focus on cultivating non-dependent relationships. It sounds like a mess waiting to happen and something that could be very dangerous and toxic down the road to be honest. Her neediness, her already having a family etc. It’s odd and high risk. You guys clearly have chemistry. I dont know how for you to navigate this but… you are seeing signs that something is up.

Yes, sure. But, notice how you are alive. You haven’t died, and even with some consciousness of it… you are here alive. Death, would mean you aren’t here alive. So that is what is explored here. -
@Someone here I’ve never once had fun looking at soccer but I get people do.

Imagine making billions running around and kicking a ball.

I don’t think that is truth though. You’re biased against suffering. God is not. -

I’m not convinced spiral dynamics really works here anymore. What is happening is far more nuanced than what spiral dynamics can predict. Spiral dynamics isn’t that good I think when it comes to lying, corruption, and lack of understanding of political science among all stages. I think people are so splintered and the administration is doing things so fast that it’s too late. I can’t see trump and his team failing, unless they mess things up so badly the conflict within the country becomes untenable. Extreme levels of conflict are coming for the United States within the country due to the vision, values and survival strategy of Trump and his party vs the constitution, rule of law, moral standards, policy of the United States up to this point. This is going to be the biggest change the United States has ever gone through since its creation. Not just domestically within the US, but I think globally things are about to change radically. -
Thought Art replied to Hardkill's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Hardkill I think the US is under a deep threat beyond what it can imagine of becoming a country like Russia or North Korea in that it is ruled by a dictator. I think it could happen faster than you think with the new administration. What is happening is unprecedented and happening at breakneck speed. Corruption is happening so fast, and it’s so well coordinated I don’t think democracy has a chance. I hope it does, but I doubt it. -
@OBEler Even that, isn’t always true. Diet plays a big roll in this. If you eat black beans for example prior to eating sugar you can essentially illuminate blood sugar spikes. Even if the beans have been completely digested and in large intestine. I think, quantity and how often and how you eat sugar in relationship to your whole diet matters.

Without a basic understanding of Holistic Systems thinking I don’t think nutrition can be understood or properly contemplated.

Pretty sure Mantak Chia teaches like 7 to 14 days. I do think that there is merit to semen retention… at least, and especially because most people don’t have the big and little draw technique. There is a way to orgasm which I’ve had some experience where to can orgasm and it’s more full body leaving you feel nourhsied and clean. I know from experience orgasm can, not always though, leave me feeling a bit flat or drained. I suspect the ancient Toaist view of using sexual energy plays a role in Qigong and Yoga practice. But, never orgasming or limiting it to huge lengths I suspect is not useful.

@Leo Gura That is a fair nuance to share and I think it’s likely true. My sister is a dietician and I think she agrees with you based on how she talks to me about things. …. in Chinese medicine Sugar is extreme Yin. Too much is bad. Too Yin.
-
@Leo Gura I am open to this idea. However, it being the pure energy of life isn’t a strong argument with looking at how the human body deals with how it metabolizes sugars. Too much could be a bad thing, which I think is the general consensus of nutrition science. If it was as simple as fuel for life we wouldn’t be dealing with people with diabetes for example. Diabetes is an issue with how the body regulates sugars and can be deadly if mishandled. Sugar definitely affects the homeostasis of the body… as I’ve learned in my layman understanding of this subject. So, to say it’s not bad is likely untrue simply because it’s pure energy. Sugar entering the system causes a lot of metabolic reactions which are not good for health, apparently. It also depends on the nature the sugar is consumed. The human body isn’t like a car that you just put glucose in. So, I’m open to learning more about why you think sugar isn’t bad… and I’m curious to understand the various scientific perspectives on why it’s currently considered bad by most mainstream nutrition understanding.
