Sometimes not taking enough can lead to worse outcomes from my experience. This usually applies to a certain type of person though. Intuition should be trusted at least as much as the intellectualized/survival approach when choosing how to proceed. -

The only direct experience I have with angels is that I met one who cried tears of Absolute Love on my heart to prepare me to see Absolute Divinity. An insight came during this experience that angels or the Divinity they represent is within everything, and this Divine energy is paired with our organic and more “mundane” life to actually make things perfect. It was clear that to have the Divine without the mundane embodied existence would not be nearly as important as if everything was only the Divine side of reality. Ultimately Divine and mundane fuse together to create everything we see. The angel showed me that it’s not simply about Love, but they also have a deep honor and respect for everything. It appears that nothing is judged as “lower” by “them”. -

You might ask @The0Self for advice on this. He seems to have some good firsthand experience and has reached a high level of awakening it appears from the way he expresses himself in posts. Send him a PM. -
Also remember in Buddhism thoughts/mind is seen as a sixth sense door. The thoughts giving solidity to your body are more fleeting sensations. Maybe focus your vipassana on a balance of No Self & impermanence.
-
This. If you’re doing vipassana, that’s probably the best “natural” approach, but you can only go so far so fast naturally. Psychedelics can save you quite a bit of time if used properly as is covered in a number of Leo’s videos.

Well, the main difference is what comes before and after the cessation. I’ve not heard stories of people with narcolepsy having permanent baseline shifts in consciousness/perceptual abilities afterwards, but I’m no expert on narcolepsy. The same difference I just mentioned above also applies to deep sleep. The old monks/yogis were rather convinced there is consciousness in deep sleep and none in cessation; I’m putting some faith in their expertise and greater experience with it than myself. I just ask if he’s been through that yet because it opened my eyes to the whole concept of nonexistence and what that would even “be like” in ways I had no other way to access before the “non experience” of cessation. Beyond it just opening my eyes to it, it has done very similar things to a good percentage of others who have been through it. It has certainly shaped much of Buddhism, with the Buddha even calling nirodha samapatti the highest temporary attainment possible in life (spiritually speaking). It also is much of what created the framework for the Two Truths in Mahayana Buddhism. At the end of the day, the ridiculous and permanent shift cessations have had on my life is what leads me to see them as significant and different. I’m quite convinced we’d see different shifts in brain activity occurring in cases of cessation vs. narcolepsy or deep sleep as well, but that’s just a guess for now. -

@Verdesbird Leo is an incredibly holistic teacher compared to pretty much anyone out there. I too wish the forum supported more occult-type discussion, but it is a risk for the community in some ways. People into occult stuff can come with more questionable morals in some cases and often are easily deluded. He doesn’t at all say these things aren’t real though. He links his teachings to many old masters, Ramana Maharshi is one example he seems quite fond of. He’s talked quite a bit about the possibility of superhuman abilities. It appears he’s only accessed these, for the most part, in psychedelic trips which are essentially occurring on a mental/spiritual plane. He doesn’t claim to have any mastery over superhuman abilities in any measurable/more material way, so it’s rather expected for him to not teach something he doesn’t know how to do for himself. He even did speak about the possibility of healing at one point, but I believe it turned out to be even more difficult than he expected at that time. A distrust for Leo is a bad call IMO even though I have started learning mostly from other sources for now and leaning in other directions. There is still a wealth of high-quality teachings to be considered from Actualized.org. If it doesn’t resonate now, no worries! Do what you’re drawn to. I’m sure you’ll find it again if the time is right. -

Look into dependent origination. You can’t even really call something “blue” without pulling the entire Universe into it. There is certainly a difference in appearance between blue and red, but difference, red, blue, appearance, oneness, and all of these other things are just fabrications. The important point to get isn’t that blue somehow is perceived exactly like red in some trippy mindfuck, even though I’m sure that has some usefulness. It’s to see the fabrications fall away completely and only see the raw sensations without any layering from a worldview or human perspective. There are MANY degrees to this, and I’d be careful to think you’ve seen that bedazzling spectacle too early on. -

Have you reached cessation yet? It adds a whole new dimension to this inquiry. -

Leo was the KGB’s highest creation in a last ditch effort to destroy capitalism in an undercover way that the West would not detect until it was too late. Of course the previous sentence contains 0% trans fat, non-GMO, anti-satire to the highest degree of seriousness. On the topic of 5-MeO use, you might want to expand yourself a bit more with other psychedelics first, especially since you mention trauma and other such things. There are plenty of people I see here who jump straight to 5-MeO without much issue, so maybe that step is too cautious. You won’t really know until you’ve already tried it. There are certainly great benefits which come from psychedelics which you will struggle to find elsewhere, especially without likely many more hours of spiritual work than the simple act of taking the psychedelic with serious intentions requires. It’s really as simple as: do you want to take the most effective “short cut” there is for spiritual benefits or do it in a more gradual and possibly less risky way? It will most likely speed things up by a number of years when it comes to spiritual progress. If spirituality isn’t your #1 goal right now, ask yourself if you’re ready for it to become #1 without much choice in stopping that process. Have you made enough progress in normal life and want more out of it that non-spiritual approaches are not fulfilling? Do you just need to know the Truth at deeper levels and that desire will not be quenched until an answer is reached? These are all just things to consider. There’s of course plenty more that could be considered. Most succinctly and importantly: follow your intuition & heart. It’ll probably give you a better answer than intellectualizing the decision too much. It sounds like you might have some authentic reasons to hold off a bit longer for yourself. There’s ultimately no need to rush. The Truth will always be the Truth. -

Just don’t be a dick with how you interact with people, provide well thought out questions and responses, and be open to the possibility that you’re wrong. If you do those things, I’m pretty confident the mods and Leo will have no issue with you. -

I remember when I posted something of occult nature which I immediately got warning points for. Kind of funny. Stuff of that nature can be very beneficial to living a more effective and compassionate spiritual life if used correctly. Sadly it’s not even worth trying to explain my experiences with things of that nature here as people are not open enough. Also tons of the details of my shadow work would simply be seen as too controversial if I were to share them here. But these things are not to really be blamed on Leo or individuals here but rather brainwashing from our culture in general. -
His teachings align very well with my direct experience. My stream entry was on May 28, 2021. Now I’m “stuck” (even though pretty much all of my life is “dope as fuck zero gravity & boundless space/consciousness - lol”) looking for that tiny remaining speck of solidity. You can hit shit stronger than at least many psychedelic experiences like 5 grams of shrooms or 10 tabs of LSD fully sober if you follow this stuff. Just trying to help out. Not starting a psychedelic vs. meditation war. I actually used psychedelics much more than meditation to hit stream entry and used them to lock in higher Realization often after stream entry. I see combination better than a one vs. the other idea. Anyway, here’s the video: I highly recommend all of his content in recent 1-2 years.

Yes embodiment is important, but embodiment is not an erasure of personality. Being a placid monk is not necessarily embodiment. He spends a good amount of time teaching when he could do so many other things. Maybe he’s not “fully embodied” from certain perspectives, but I think it’s hard to even know where he is in regards to this without being fully awake and meeting him in person. It’s just a guessing game with the info we have IMO. Sila (roughly translated to morality) is said to never have a cap, so in that regard, there is no full enlightenment if you’re considering that part of enlightenment. When he says enlightenment, he’s referring to the insight/wisdom (this is not referring to commonplace human wisdom btw) part of the equation. Certainly there are people more advanced than him in regards to sila. -

Because this game will kick your ass. I’ve had intense awakenings while driving or in public situations which made me fearless with huge consequences. You can overcome suffering, but overcoming pain is a whole different ball game. -

Then how can you say it’s there or differentiate it from the “ game”? The appearance of a player is certainly there, at least at the beginning. Are you certain you have more agency when it comes to typing a response compared to a dog wagging it’s tail? Or is the appearance of agency just another dog wagging its tail, just in a clever disguise? -
