  1. @Nilsi I suppose you advocate for just loads of fission reactors. However, I don't think it would be sensible to have them over fusion one's. Fusion one's are expected to produce 3-4 times the amount of energy. Also, nuclear fusion reactors, unlike fission ones, don't create any toxic waste product.
  2. I've regularly heard the phrase used by folks who are seemingly reassuring themselves or others about their own getting older. I don't think OP meant it in the way you interpreted.
  3. Here's what I'd say: Focus on your fundamentals first. 1. Get a source of income at a healthy workplace (i.e. non-toxic) 2. Exercise 3. Diet 4. Meditation 5. Journaling --------------------------------------------------------------- You can input one at a time. If you're finding you keep starting, stopping, starting, stopping, then I'd get into a depth psychotherapy asap. Although even if the above suggestions work well for you, I'd input depth psychotherapy as a 6th step. For example, IFS therapy. (Sidenote: I'd look into potential neurodivergence too, i.e. ADHD, dyslexia. That can go surprisingly unnoticed and cause a lot of issues.) Also, I'd learn how to develop habits from the book, 'atomic habits'. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, I'd recommend having some inspiration for the journey, i.e. music you find inspiring, movies you find relatable and inspiring. And watch those from time to time. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, it may be wise to consider what relationships are healthy to have in your life, and to what level. I.e. maybe you cut down how much you do certain things with certain types of people, or you move on all together There's a few different things I've put here that came to mind. I understand if it seems overwhelming but you don't have to do it all at once, (if you choose to follow what I recommend at all :) ). Anyhow, I think you've taken a great step with this comment and I hope things improve for you.
  4. I'd use it as a time to practice getting really effective at studying things in a way that invigorates you. Perhaps even things you don't enjoy at first. Might as well make the best of your unwanted situation, imo. There's a book called 'What smart students know'' by Adam Robinson that I think could be of value, if my recommendation resonates with you. Tho, I don't think that book will really help with math subjects. So can only wish you luck on that one :).
  5. Anyone know of anyone channels similar to CrookedMedia that focuses generally on UK politics?
  6. https://www.verywellmind.com/mindfulness-meditation-technique-labeling-thoughts-3144768 I'd recommend following the general advice. Then when it comes to the part about choosing which specific labelling technique to use, I'd do the following. Simply note the emotion that the thought seems to correspond to. I.e. if the thought seems panicky in nature, just note, 'panic', or excited, note, 'excited'. I feel a significant calmness and groundedness after doing this type of meditation. And have struggled for years to find benefits from meditation, despite prolonged and repeated efforts with various other methods. Hope this can be of value to some folks!
  7. @Nilsi Just seen this, but thanks. Do you know of a specific book/ section of a book, where Wilber talks about this specifically?
  8. Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with your ban, I wish you well dude, both materially and internally.
  9. @Max_V Agree except I don't think there's a difference in levels. I think everyone is on the same level. However, if you respond to someone's abuse with your own abuse, you are still committing abuse and that is generally wrong.

  11. @Devin I think I understand. I also relate to your sense of disconnection. Hope Fisher's work is of value to you.
  12. I'd recommend IFS therapy, or Janina Fisher's work if you're rather dissociated. If you are interested and would like some recommendations about how to get into it, then feel to free to ask and I'll give you some.
  13. I really think David Tian's recent work is the best there is regarding alpha male type discussions on Youtube. Once I found out about and was persuaded by the IFS model everything makes so much more sense, and the limits of a lot of alpha male talk becomes readily apparent.
  14. I'd share if it wasn't for my wanting to keep my anonymity on here :). However, I saw you highlighted a quote from Terry Brooks on your goodreads, and was curious as to whether you'd read his 'Genesis of Shannara' series. Was one of my favourites growing up!
  15. I really like that channel too :)
  16. I think its better to be proactive than passive in situations like this, personally. If you feel like you might need to be seen again sooner I'd support your taking rapid action to get that to happen, i.e. 911. It might simply be that its something like anxiety. However, it could also be something serious. On that balance, I think it would be sensible to treat it as though its something serious.
  17. @Shakazulu Sounds like valuable work to me!
  18. My original comment that you replied to was about nuclear fusion reactors rather than nuclear fission reactors. The former have a lot more potential than the latter in terms of energy production.
  19. @Nilsi Oh. It says its a nuclear fission reactor, rather than nuclear fusion reactor
  20. @Leo Gura Ye dude I'd recommend being more respectful in these sorts of communications
  21. @Nilsi Nuclear fusion ones? If so, do you have a link you could share?
  22. @Shakazulu Hope the workbook has been going well :). If you found value in it and would like to explore the author's work in more detail, I'd recommend the following title: https://www.amazon.com/Healing-Fragmented-Selves-Trauma-Survivors/dp/B07RHQ9GFZ (I'd check out the appendix relatively early into reading the above book, if you decide to do so. I think there's some real gold there.)
  23. I think if we manage to crack how to create nuclear fusion reactors safely then we'll have huge abundance of energy relatively quickly, dependent on how quickly the plants can be built after the scientific discovery's are made.
  24. Can go to the 'career outcomes' part of this wiki: https://psychology.fandom.com/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traits_and_life_outcomes#Career_Outcomes
  25. @Raptorsin7 Sure. I think we may as well end the discussion between us two, on this thread, here then.
