  1. @Sugarcoat Seeing overcoming adversity as a hero’s journey helps me. As well as keeping in mind the mastery curve and being patient. I watch Leo’s video on patience from time to time to help me. I just keep experimenting, reflecting and plodding along my path. And I trust that eventually I will get results. I think what also helps is I’ve had some journeys where I have seen noticeable progress such as boxing and pick-up. And I can see the mastery curve and hero’s journey elements at play there. So I can relate my present stage of my journey now to when I was at that stage in those other journeys if that makes sense. So that is what helps me I’d say. All best mate 🤙.
  2. @Flowerfaeiry I mean Aubrey Marcus put out a statement endorsing Trump and described him as a loving person lol. These people are not immune from delusion. That said it sounds like a tough situation to have those you look up to take a path which you didn’t expect. And have that choice of path cause you to question whether you can trust them as you did. I think is commendable that you are willing to reflect on this change and not just follow them. I’d take some time to be extra kind to yourself as I think inevitably this may bring up some challenging things for you. All best.
  3. Might seem too generlaistic but I hardly ever find a psychologist speaking who makes any insightful take about society. They are too focused on individual units to understand the individual in relation to whole - society. I’d much rather listen to a sociologist.
  4. I can’t even watch that shit. I end up feeling too depressed. I could watch liveleak for a whole day and feel better than watching those vids.
  5. Maybe. Its hard for me to think about with out specific examples.
  6. Imo I would say that is spiritual bypassing. Because even if you live in a blissful state, let alone just access it, you would still have to work with your ego to untangle all the extreme features it has resorted in the face of life’s pressures.
  7. The bolded therapies aren’t just about connecting with feelings and analysis. They are based around changing your attachment styles and actively letting go of traumatic reactions in your psyche
  8. I’d recommend on looking into: 1. Attachment work - IFS therapy (See www.ifsbuddy.chat) - Ideal Parenting protocol (Search the subreddit for it) - Depth psychotherapies (ie gestalt, psychodynamic, Jung) - EMDR 2. Somatic work - Somatic experiencing - Trauma Release exercises - Massage - Yoga & Stretching If you have the time/ resources, I’d recommend doing one of both category. Edit: I saw you have limited finances so I’ve bolded what you can do for free.
  9. Any stats to back that up?
  10. I see. I think that could definitely be an area of value to explore for you imo. I think you it’s v important to work in resolving body tension that accumulates in relation to trauma.
  11. @Tristan12 do you do or have you done any bodywork? Ie trauma release exercises and massage
  12. I like when Leo posts a blog on a new topic, because then I can finally have an opinion on that topic
  13. I’d look into Trauma release exercises, ifs therapy and concentration meditations
  14. @Flowerfaeiry I have similar thinking. It’s what draws me to IFS therapy this most. What else really is there of value in this life?
  15. Well you can do IFS therapy on yourself. Another way is to label your feelings and then validate them ie say to yourself “I am feeling sad and that is okay” In terms of dealing with your sister I suppose it depends on the context of the conversation. Though you’re probably dealing with an immature and toxic person if they are calling you trash. Reason being that immature and toxic people will tend to shame you instead of guilt you. In that they communicate something wrong with your inherent nature, ie YOU are trash. Compared with a guilting approach which insinuates something wrong with a behaviour, ie your behaviour was trash.
  16. I think you underestimate severe mental Illness caused by trauma

  18. @soos_mite_ah was just in a dumbass mood and fucking around lmao
  19. I have done life purpose course and realised this is my ultimate vision for my life 🎉. Anyone else managed to become a stay-at-home child-free single dad as well? Or have any advice on how to make this vision work?
  20. @Finax I don’t know too much about his background and haven’t watched your linked video. But from what I’ve seen of him he just seems like someone who read a culture war handbooks and started spitting of right wing talking points. He seems pretty inauthentic to me. Like compare to someone like Patrick Bet David who I think is actually sincere in his political beliefs, or Dennis Prager.
  21. Interpersonal theory of suicide says suicide is the result of feeling like burden plus also a sense of thwarted belongingness.
