  1. One thing that I appreciate about this forum is that there isn't a "point system" or ranks or anything like that. So nobody starts hunting for likes and that dynamic can be ignored altogether while pure content/thoughts of the post are what matters. As for the colors, to my knowledge it could be how the forum software works, maybe the colors can be turned off but you don't have to place anyone in higher importance because they are a moderator.
  2. Full Episode: Save the Bees: You can donate to help save the declining bee population, in the podcast it also explains they are giving out a few thousand free bee-feeders with the mushroom antidote to deformed-wing virus which will collect data around the world on the bee population. https://fungi.com/pages/bees The podcast also talks about a new microdosing app, which collects data to study the effects of microdosing. Amazing. https://www.microdosestudy.com/
  3. You didn't get the message of my post at all. Has nothing to do with my agenda or whether or not I agree with their stance. Its their method of presenting information. Nobody said anything about making dumbed down 10 minute videos. I don't have to watch 13 hours of this to form an opinion that I get a childish vibe from it. Especially that guy just eating chips and coughing on the mic every minute.
  4. Start approaching ASAP, you want a girl that doesn't care about the cleft palate. What if you were to wait till its fixed and you were to get a girl that wouldn't have said yes to you before it was fixed? Wouldn't you want it the other way around? This is a major opportunity to work on your self esteem like @Nak Khid said. And jut know you are not ugly, its just something you were born with and doesn't take away from your beauty unless you let it.
  5. Instead of do an 8 and 5 hour nitpick session making snarky remarks (whether they are right or not) about people who aren't there to reply back to them why not just make a condensed high quality video stating their own viewpoints on their side of the issue with more of a big picture perspective. This is childish imo, a bunch of intellectual masturbation nitpicking studies. And has nothing to do about me agreeing with them or not.
  6. 1) Measure it cooked because raw will give you a lot of water weight you shouldn't be counting. 2) The grams of protein isnt changing, its just the weight of the food because of water after its cooked. So just weigh it after. From personal experience, I used to count macros all the time and got very neurotic about it. It started becoming just another thing I was stressing about and it became to me about hitting numbers which turn out to not be as meaningful as you thought they were. It does teach you valuable lessons though on learning how to eyeball certain portion sizes of foods for certain amounts of calories/macros. Use it for a period of time but don't do it for the rest of your life. After a while you can learn to eat intuitively based on how much food your body needs by eyeballing portion sizes and being educated on the caloric and nutrient densities of individual foods. Once I gave up counting I actually started to eat healthier, shed more body fat and learn more about which foods are best for me.
  7. I would say killing yourself for a greater cause is much higher consciousness than killing yourself because you are depressed and hate your life. But the question here would be: is it your best/only option? Is burning yourself to protest higher consciousness than keeping yourself alive and fighting for a good cause in greater/more sustainable ways? Killing yourself at war to fight the enemy might be considered noble but if you are high consciousness you wouldn't be participating in war in the first place. Lets say you are Will Smith in the end scene of "I am legend" and you need the mother and child with you to survive to give the antidote to the zombie virus to the other humans, then killing yourself by setting off a grenade which will kill the zombies in the room and allow the mother and child who are sheltered behind a vault to escape afterwards would be your highest option. Just my perspective.
  8. Yes it does. All you can really control is buying high quality organic meats where the animal could roam free, eat its natural diet, be healthy and live a happy life (to the best of our assumption) while eating meat in moderation (having a primarily plant based diet). If you are an athlete lets say and you have high energy requirements, your body will require more protein and you can process cholesterol better. So lifestyle factors are super important. Also some meats don't have to be killed (eggs) In order to be a vegan athlete you have to make sure you are getting the full amino acid profile in your plant proteins, whether that be from combining plant proteins (brown rice+beans) to get the complete amino acid profile or getting complete plant proteins (quinoa) and would be very helpful to supplement with a plant protein powder if you are focused on performance.
  9. In a sense thats selfish, going off all by yourself indefinitely and enjoying liberation vs use your insights to build the consciousness of others. And you can do both, hence the importance of solo retreats.
  10. Check out this book: https://www.amazon.com/Resurrecting-Jesus-Embodying-Spirit-Revolutionary/dp/1622037634/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3AXO1VHE3KHSG&keywords=resurrecting+jesus+adyashanti&qid=1574635055&sprefix=jesus+adya%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-1
  11. Watch his video on Ego Backlash
  12. Yes they can but there is definitely a cut off point. You have to watch high quality well made movies that really get you thinking about important topics or bring out strong emotions in you. But you eventually hit a ceiling and just watching pixels on a screen is not gonna benefit you anymore.
  13. Not all meat contains fear though. For example, hunters in the wild know that if they shoot a deer with a poor shot, and it struggles that meat is going to be very tense and full of fear because of the struggle the animal was dealing with. All those stress hormones were pumped out in the bloodstream to the tissues. If its a killshot, the animal dies right away and the meat is a lot better to eat.
  14. Brace yourself against that wind, and its gonna pass
  15. No prob, yes its much easier, just try new things here and there and switch some ingredients up. You will most likely want to anyway, your taste buds will be drawn to other things, get tired of it, re-introduce later maybe, the cycle continues
  16. You can definitely have dietary staples but nutrient variety is essential. If you eat the same exact thing every day thats a way to develop nutrient deficiencies. But, you can use a template in a sense by keeping your core meals similar (protein source, fat source, carb source) and just throw in variations of those macros now and then. On the other end of the spectrum, don't go all over the place and start experimenting with entirely new foods all the time. Keep track of what foods your body responds to the best, what you personally enjoy and what nourishes you the most. Theres such a wide range of nutrients your body needs, you need to vary it up a little. Also you could be overexposed to certain foods and need to give them a break from time to time. Vary your proteins. Some times have chicken breast, sometimes have turkey, both are similar macros and are lean but not all the same. Sometimes get proteins with some more fat (egg yolks, fatty fish) but dont make that your only source because then your fat intake will probably be too high in time and maybe cholesterol. IMO its most important to get as much variety in fruits and veggies as possible. There are so many different phytochemicals out there. Think the rainbow, you want to get in all the colors of the spectrum as much as possible.
  17. Spot on, I have experienced that existential groundlessness, where I can't put into words what it feels like but basically all you are left with is the fact you exist in the present moment.
  18. Mushrooms can be very confusing. Its counter intuitive that while they can be really philosophical by nature, I would be careful of overthinking deep thoughts because you could just end up going in endless thought circles. Where it would come in handy to just let go of contemplating, focus on your breath and observe your awareness for a while.
  19. Be authentic, be yourself. When someone says something you don't agree with, don't automatically agree with them just to avoid confrontation, respectfully either not show approval or state your disagreement. If you are in a social situation, be respectful to people, but don't give an ear to ear smile and slap on a bubbly persona if thats not what you are feeling inside. If someone tells you a joke you didn't find funny, don't fake laugh. If you are feeling amazing for whatever reason and have the natural urge, be energetic and outgoing, thats authentic. If someone tells you a joke you think is hilarious (even if other people there didn't get the joke) start tearing up with laugher if you have the urge. Thats authentic. Tease women, in a tasteful way. But be prepared to make fun of yourself as well. Don't take anything personally.
  20. This is probably where you meet a crossroads of getting a good grade on this project and presenting truth in its rawest form. I wouldn't assert that reality is a hallucination or anything like that if you want a good grade. Maybe your subject matter could be mystical states/altered states of consciousness.
  21. It really comes down to quality of the egg you are eating and lifestyle factors. How efficiently your heart works, your activity/energy demands, how many micronutrients/phytochemicals/antioxidants are you getting in the totality of your diet. Not black and white.
  22. Which one are you going to get? I've had Lions Mane before from a different company, and it was from the mushroom fruiting body, and I didn't notice that great of an effect. Maybe a little bit. In this podcast Paul claims that lions mane from mycelium are a lot more powerful than the fruiting body, which is what he uses in the lions mane host defense product. I think im going to get that and see if its noticable. Should be a decent indicator about quality of his product if I notice a difference.
  23. Heres another option, just be honest and come clean with her. Acknowledge what you sense building between the two of you and make it clear that while you care about her, you respect the fact that she has a boyfriend and you don't want to mess up her relationship. The ball is in her court, she will have to really think about her priorities. Maybe they won't be together for that much longer if you are right about them not being too serious. Theres a possibility she could start fronting and be like "oh no its not like that at all with us, we are just friends" as a defense mechanism to keep what you have. But don't settle for that, stand up for your convictions, while at the same time making it clear it has nothing to do with her and you really value her company.
  24. Some clarifications to contextualize this better would be 1) how old are you and her? 2) what is your experience with long term relationships? Unless you have been in a relationship with a girl for at least 2 or 3 years, its easy to speculate that your initial feelings of attraction will last for years and years. Until you have been there done that multiple times and realize that initial bubble is going to burst, and for better or worse the relationship is going to evolve and transcend that. I'm not saying theres no chance she is the right one for you. But while you are in this position without a girlfriend, keep testing the waters, like actively put yourself out there talking and building connections to other girls and see if you might be able to find someone who you connect with and are attracted to just as much or maybe even more who doesn't have a boyfriend. Take advantage of the freedom of being single and being able to flirt with and pursue whoever you want.
  25. Personally, I think the "once a cheater, always a cheater" is a popular, mainstream assumption. Its probably most often the case but I dont think is an absolute. It depends on how deep your connection is with this girl. Its probably likely to be a more lustful, physical attraction. Try to imagine what it would be like breaking up their relationship, you getting with her, and staying with her for years after your initial physical attraction and sparks have died. Would you be in some sort of soul-bond with her? Like a 100% conviction she is the one for you. Its likely that would not be the case IMO. And as for the notion that if she is flirting with you, their relationship is probably not good anyway, maybe that is the case but then it would probably dissolve on its own eventually or by other means so don't take it as your responsibility to free her from the relationship. Also try to put yourself in the shoes of her boyfriend.
