It’s depraved that it’s considered normal to have a party by the fence of a massive open air prison where Israel holds over 1 million children captive. Just 5 years earlier at the same prison the Palestinians staged a protest where Israel killed over 200 of them, and independent analysis found of nearly 500 incidents of killing or injury by Israel only 2 were justifiable self defense. Ultimately you can’t torture a population, destroy and block every peaceful means they have of reproach, and expect them to not lash out in violent ways.

1) why are they obsessed? Because it’s their home they were kicked out of. They lived their for generations, saying “well there are other Muslim countries” doesn’t mean much to the individuals who live there and not elsewhere. 2) the historical situation of oppression doesn’t justify current behavior, currently Israel is keeping Palestinians in an apartheid state and concentration camp, just because the person oppressing you had ancestors that were oppressed and you had ancestors who did oppression, doesn’t make their current behavior justified. Israel is oppressing Palestinians, that can’t be justified by saying in the past Jews were oppressed, you are responsible for what you are doing. 3) Palestinians are in far more danger from Israel, Israel kills 20+ Palestinians for every Israeli that iskilled, Israel has destroyed Gaza and keeps them on a starvation diet in horrific living conditions. 97% of water sources in Gaza are contaminated and Israel controls the rest of the fresh water sources. Israel’s survival isn’t at stake because their state isn’t in danger of dissolution as they’ve only expanded, meanwhile Palestine is being ethnically cleansed by them and has slowly had their land taken until the current situation where millions are crammed in small shrinking space. Acting like they are crazy for lashing out when their actual existence is being destroyed is illogical.

I am sorry this is happening and I truly hope you and your friends and family stay safe. But this is the inevitable outcome of what happens when you have nothing to lose. You cannot occupy, torture, and kill a population and expect them to not lash out.

What are you referring to? Palestine doesn’t have nukes.

The US’s own standards for giving aid is not to give it to countries engaging in war crimes or apartheid, which Israel is doing. You don’t have to stop giving aid, just tie it to Israel actually pursuing peace and de-escalation, which they are not doing.

1. A movement being strategically correct or not doesn’t necessarily make it morally justified or not 2. Again, I agree HAMAS isn’t justified, but neither is Israel and HAMA’s behavior is a expected reaction to it 3. Israel and the USA have sabotaged basically every attempt to create peace. Their “attempts of peace” are just pushing for their own self interest at the expense of Palestinians which they will never accept.

I’m not saying HAMAS is justified, I’m saying if Israel is justified, HAMAS certainly is. Israel has not even attempted to really create peace, they have only put greed and nationalism above even there own safety, which is why attacks like this still happen at all , it’s not high moral character to continually provoke and attack a hostile population, and it certainly isn’t making Israeli’s safer. Last year they literally burned a major mosque and a huge crowd of Israeli settlers where dancing in celebration under the fire. I’m pretty sure HAMAS has said that was a major motivation for this attack. Again, putting nationalism over even their own safety.

If Israel is justified because they don’t want to get “genocided again” (that’s ridiculous, HAMAS has 0 ability to do that), by that logic then HAMAS is justified because Palestinians are actively getting ethnically cleansed right now. Israel is actively colonizing Palestine, Palestinians are slaughtered regularly.

There is no situation where you occupy and regularly torture and randomly kill civilians of a population and constantly insult and desecrate them, and they don’t lash out. Israel isn’t going to try and create peace because it needs these attacks to happen because it justifies them in slowly having an excuse to further and further reduce and eventually destroy Palestine.
