  4. Hamas rejecting this deal is expected. They would basically get nothing, Hamas would potentially collapse if the leaders all left, Israel would just start the bombardment again after 2 months and already said they’ll hunt Hamas leaders in other countries. But Hamas should not be negotiating to stay in power, they should offer a deal that would grant Justice for Palestinians but also the rest of the world and left in Israel could accept, that would lead to huge pressure on Netanyahu to accept it and if he doesn’t damage his credibility to continue the war.

  8. It’s not though, he’s right. How is Netanyahu thoughtful when he’s tactically failed in every way. Politically he’s extremely unpopular. Legally he’s at risk of jail time. Governmentally he failed to avert the biggest attack on Israel’s history and the response caused the largest loss in IDF and Israel’s economy in a long time. His only ally was the US Gov and reports show Biden has been getting frustrated with him and Biden’s likely replacement, Trump, is openly criticizing him. He’s screwed himself over.
  9. The attacked happened because Netanyahu refused to deal with Hamas politically and remove the blockade, killed thousands of Gazans in the last war, empowered Hamas with money transfers, killed hundreds of peaceful protestors, allowed the burning of a mosque, removed the IDF from the Gaza perimeter to help settlers harass those in the West Bank, ignored multiple warnings Hamas was plotting a breakout, and was trying to normalize relations with the Middle East without allowing the Palestinians any path to freedom. The only reason it was inevitable was because of Israel’s policies. If they were different, it would have been entirely avoidable.
  10. But Trump is on track to become president again and Netanyahu is on track to get kicked out, tactically Trump is winning and Netanyahu is failing.

  12. Ok, so stop accusing everyone else of being biased or unfairly accusing you of not being objective. It’s one thing to be biased, it’s one thing to not acknowledge bias, it’s one thing to not present arguments without bias, but it’s another to be openly biased and accuse everyone else of bias, that is just annoying.
  13. No you aren’t, you are biased by nationalism. You haven’t been giving unbiased objective analysis, you declared yourself a “proud Jew” early in the thread, basically admitting you stand by Israel for personal ethnicity reasons primarily and have continued to call Palestinians inflammatory things like “savages” confirming huge biases. You aren’t tricking anyone. Stop accusing everyone else of bias towards you when you can’t even present your arguments in an unbiased way.
  14. Why? He’s on the verge of going to prison for corruption and is arguably responsible for the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin by riling up extremists towards him. Not to mention all the violence he inflicted on Palestinians and putting Jews at risk.
  15. Netanyahu and his supporters are far bigger threats to Israel than Hamas. He is now admitting he will never abide by a Palestinian state. He wants to continue the status quo, blockade Gaza, mass bomb them when they try to resist creating orphans for extremists to recruit, and allow settlers to slowly force out those in the West Bank. This is assured violence, this is the situation that lead to every attack on Israel in the past decades including Oct 7. This is going to blow up when the surrounding middle eastern countries have had enough and given that Israel has nukes and is prepared to use them, it could take the rest of the world with them. Virtually every other country in the entire world including the US believes a Palestinian state is the only chance for peace. If the US keeps supporting Israel after this it’s going to be clear they are entirely in the pocket of AIPAC. Young voters are souring on Israel and this will continue until they are the majority of voters in 30 years, but by then Orthodox Jews will be a much larger population in Israel and their politics will be even more extreme. This is a disaster in the making.
  16. Not remotely true. They were funneling money to Hamas well after declaring them a terrorist organization. And the strategy was to divide the Palestinians so they couldn’t get a state, forcing them to resort to violence, so Israel could respond with more violence. In a sense sacrificing safety of Jews to kill Palestinians.
  17. https://www.ft.com/content/0cbe7cbb-382d-49d1-8846-4f96b583580f Houthi rebels in Yemen have been attacking ships to disrupt trade to protest Israel’s war on Hamas and for blocking aid to Gaza. This is causing economic problems so the US and UK are about to strike apparently. This may cause a wider war in Yemen or even Iran (who backs Houthi’s). Yemen is about the population and size of Afghanistan. Iran is the population and size of Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
  18. You have by far the worst, most ignorant, simplistic, and a-historical takes in this entire thread. Please just stop. Historically countries with individual freedom, individual rights, and human rights were rare. They do not come out on “top” every time, that isn’t even close to what has happened throughout history. Maybe it’ll start happening now but that would be a change, not expected based on the past. We literally just had an entire war on terror where the strongest militaries in the world openly declared they will eliminate Islamic extremism and the result was it massively expanded. We already have seen many verified statements from governments themselves admitting their own actions they claim reduce extremism actually increase them. How do you not see you are declaring a historical truth that isn’t backed up at all by history and calling for a solution which was just tried in largest scale ever and totally failed?
