I’ll admit this one made me laugh A former US Colonel on YT had been calling to remove Us soldiers from Middle East hotspots to avoid escalation here’s what he says should be done now

1. Read this https://www.unicef.org/mena/documents/gaza-strip-humanitarian-impact-15-years-blockade-june-2022 or this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockade_of_the_Gaza_Strip#Socioeconomic_impact 2. Israel controls the West Bank and they are treated horribly there and getting massacred in the hundreds right now, why would Israel control of Gaza be any different? 3. Even in Israel government officials are suggesting Israel can’t destroy hamas fully. If Israel occupies Gaza the situation will be more similar to Vietnam, Iraq, or Afghanistan during occupation, huge amounts of regular violence and rising extremism.

If a war breaks out it’ll quickly become nuclear warfare and kill all life on the planet. -
Disagree on what? That music video wasn’t made by Al Jazeera, why are they bad for simply reposting it? Should they just ignore it and pretend it didn’t happen? If that happened to me I would be angry and possibly react in violence, but I’d hope other actors would stop me from doing something that would hurt me. As of now I support a ceasefire because not only does the war hurt Palestinians, it hurts Israeli’s. If I was personally effected I may behave differently, but that doesn’t mean I’d be right, I could be making a more irrational decision. That is what I think Israel is doing, Hamas is not a threat if the Gaza border is guarded, they can only fire largely useless rockets. But the ongoing war risks wider war now and in the future, and risks even more extremism from Palestinians in the future. Now let me ask you, how would you react if -you were born in a small extremely population dense strip of land you could not leave -a blockade is imposed around you so restrictive half of your population is unemployed, a third malnourished, and water supply almost entirely poisoned, and a significant amount of children with dangerous levels of lead poisoning as a result -regular barrages kill and injure thousands of your people including friends and family just in the last 17 years, including when you try to protest peacefully , barrages so violent a majority of children and teens suffer PTSD before the current war -2,900 of your people held prisoner without charges as bargaining chips In this situation, I would also possibly react in violence. But that’s the situation Gazans are in, and doesn’t justify what Hamas did either.

Al Jazeera didn’t produce the video, they just reported on it.

How do you know they are doing that? If they are why by their own estimation is over 70% the dead civilians and even worse if you look at US gov estimates? Why are they restricting medicine and food into Gaza which can’t be used to attack them? Why are they destroying farm land? Why did they publicly state the goal is to focus on damage? Why are they using unguided bombs and bombs 4x larger than what the US dropped in Afghanistan?

This is insane, they are provoking Russia into starting world war 3. All we had to do was let Ukraine remain neutral.

Hamas rejecting this deal is expected. They would basically get nothing, Hamas would potentially collapse if the leaders all left, Israel would just start the bombardment again after 2 months and already said they’ll hunt Hamas leaders in other countries. But Hamas should not be negotiating to stay in power, they should offer a deal that would grant Justice for Palestinians but also the rest of the world and left in Israel could accept, that would lead to huge pressure on Netanyahu to accept it and if he doesn’t damage his credibility to continue the war.

It’s not though, he’s right. How is Netanyahu thoughtful when he’s tactically failed in every way. Politically he’s extremely unpopular. Legally he’s at risk of jail time. Governmentally he failed to avert the biggest attack on Israel’s history and the response caused the largest loss in IDF and Israel’s economy in a long time. His only ally was the US Gov and reports show Biden has been getting frustrated with him and Biden’s likely replacement, Trump, is openly criticizing him. He’s screwed himself over.

The attacked happened because Netanyahu refused to deal with Hamas politically and remove the blockade, killed thousands of Gazans in the last war, empowered Hamas with money transfers, killed hundreds of peaceful protestors, allowed the burning of a mosque, removed the IDF from the Gaza perimeter to help settlers harass those in the West Bank, ignored multiple warnings Hamas was plotting a breakout, and was trying to normalize relations with the Middle East without allowing the Palestinians any path to freedom. The only reason it was inevitable was because of Israel’s policies. If they were different, it would have been entirely avoidable.
