Raptorsin7 replied to Revolutionary Think's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Revolutionary Think I'm pretty sure Leo will be the first to tell you that he is not at the end of his journey. No one's perfect, and especially with respect to political ideologies it's tough to judge others opinions. Everyone has bias and everyone has some ideological leanings. Leo's the man, but don't put him on a pedestal he's trying to self-actualize just like many others on this forum are trying to do as well. He's bound to have opinions and views that are surprising or unsettling to many of us on the forum. -

@Revolutionary Think Yea it's not surprising. Those guys attack anyone they perceive as left of their political views, and pigeon whole their ideological opponents as right wingers no matter where they land on a political spectrum. They have a hard anti Yang bias, and they don't even intimately engage with his ideas. Yang is not a progressive in the same light as Bernie, and he's not going to offer such a seismic shift as Bernie could offer. But to act like Yang is some right wing trojan in the democratic party like Sam and Michael do is nonsense. I personally think Sam Seder and Michael Brooks are toxic and scummy people, but their political analysis is usually pretty good. But, i definitely think Leo's knee jerk bias against Yang here is because he listens to those programs, and those programs do not actually deal with the substance of what Yang has to offer. But i am heavily biased because i do not like Sam Seder or Michael Brooks in general, so take what I say about this with a grain of salt. -

Spend 15 minutes watching Majority Report or The Michaels Brook's Show episodes about andrew yang, and you will have an idea why Leo has a bias against yang. -

@Inliytened1 So because "I' am consciousness, and everything in the world is made up of consciousness when i get advice from "others" its really just advice from me because everything in my reality is made up of a common consciousness? -
Good luck Synch I believe in your path (:

Can someone give me a comprehensive breakdown of the Third Eye. What is it, how do I open it, what effect will opening the third eye have on my life, and what techniques are good for opening it. I don't the origin of the term, but I think it's Hindu, and I was wondering if there was analogous concept in Buddhism? Is opening the third eye the same as awakening? Any insights would be appreciated.

Is there a simple technique to generate peak experiences; a breathing technique or a meditative technique. What activities in your life produce peak experiences. Finally, can you give a brief description of a peak experience. Other thoughts?

Awareness can move from the hand, to the head, to the feet, to the thoughts. But can awareness move to object in the distance, can awareness move to other people? What are the limits to how much awareness can travel within reality.

@NilsFlair Very cool post, I'm going to try it with a bunch of limiting beliefs i have. Any tips on finding out what our limiting beliefs are? Is asking ourselves enough?

@cetus56 The meditation for the purpose of enlightenent is like a bee going to a flower for nectar, but how does the bee spreading its pollen relate to striving in meditation -
@Bridge to Infinity Haha thanks. I know you are very direct, and you expect that same level of clarity from others. But people on this forum aren't going to have the same writing and thinking ability as you. Be careful about coming off as rude, you don't have want to get a bad reputation on here. There's a lot of value on this forum, I think you can learn a lot (: Good luck my guy

@Bridge to Infinity I feel this way to sometimes when people give me advice that doesn't resonate with me, because it references a perspective I clearly don't have. You have to realize people here can only give you advice based on their own experience, so not everyone will give advice that resonates with you. You just have to accept that the advice isn't applicable to you and move. Don't argue and try not to get angry. People here are trying to help, but i feel your frustration (:

Ok i will try it. Are there multiple methods or if i google wim hof method will i get the good one?

@inFlow The reason i meditate is because im striving for enlightenent. Your post without further clarification is very misleading -
@Leo Gura Fair enough.

Have you thought about starting a podcast where you bring on various meditation teachers or just generic successful people. Or have you thought about trying to get on other people's podcasts, like Sam Harris. I think you could really grow this platform if you got involved in the podcast scene, it's huge.

@PenguinPablo (: Thank you for your list. I really need to do a fast. What length do you recommend? -
Good luck in your journey man (: I read your first few posts from Jan and i hope you are doing much better now. You remind me of myself a lot haha so i will defs be reading your journal when i have time
-
@Spinoza Thank you. Yea i was hoping to see leo engage with others about his ideas, it's a different dynamic when he's just giving a talk or lecture to the camera. I'm interested to see conventional meditation teachers' perspectives on Leo's unorthodox approach to meditation and self actualization.

@Serotoninluv Good point. A better way to phrase it would be, could an addict achieve enlightenment experiences through meditation, which have an profound impact on his life like many people on this forum claim the experience effects them, but all the while still being popping heroin pills multiple times per day. i'm curious if there's any behavior patterns which would prevent these enlightenment experiences from happening, or is it simple causation where if you do enough meditation and inquiry you will achieve a break through. -
When I think about my life I realize i am not as happy as I feel I could be. I'm not unhappy per se, but i feel like my day to day experience could be better and also feel better. However, i also realize that my life IS perfect, my life right now is fully compatible with me fulling happy and satisfied. I feel like i'm close to feel content, and actually FEELING like i'm living a self-actualized life. But i don't know how to bridge the gap. I can say to myself, "my life is perfect", but it doesn't feel authentic because right NOW i feel like my life isn't perfect.

@Nahm I've been feeling a lot pressure around the third eye, the forehead space above my normal eyes, and I don't know if this means i'm close to the eye opening or is it just a normal side effect of meditation. Should i bring attention to this space during meditation/ inquiry?
