  1. I noticed that when I'm seeking for minimalism in my physical environement, it's because I'm seeking for minimalism in my head. I've finally figured out that it's another way to procrastinate, when the real change can happens in your mind. I can't wait for a video on Kaizen on Actualized
  2. SoulBass, I'm a 25 old man living in France. Hobbies : bouldering/rockclimbing, and riding my bike. When I was 17, I discovered a tiny book on buddhism in my parent's library, I start questionning myself about what is reality. On 18 I watched "Zeitgeist" documentaries (which I think are kinda subjectives now) and become vegetarian. On the same time I discover Eckart Tolle' audio books (in my native language) that I listen every night on my mp3 player, as I fall asleep. I start to recognize emotions, and have some "spiritual" insights. On my 19, I feel an inexplicable pain coming from nowhere, such a metaphysical crisis (thinking backward, it was linked with teenager's hormones). In this period I listen to pink floyd 24/7, discover Lovecraft novels, read all the books I can find on H.R. Giger, and fall in love with paintings of Edward Hopper and Egon Schiele (my studdies was arts oriented). On 20, I continue reading books, on several topics such as psychology, NLP, kaizen, subconscious... and practice meditation. A friend of mine advise me to read "The Game" by Neil Strauss, which I read in 3 days. From 21 to 23 I'm very busy with studies and my girlfriend, so that I don't have time to spend on self-help. On 24 (last year) A friend of mine at work, tells me about Actualized' videos. Last 12 months I've been questioning myself about my job/career, and felt the need for a change. I bought the Life' Purpose course this summer (which I've almost finished) though that it would be the perfect "springboard" for my job change. I've learnt so much things that I've did not expected in this course, thanks for this. My plans for future : life purpose, doing more meditation and raising more awareness, and doing more lucid dreams (something I want to explore in my life, I'm still at my first steps). (I don't try to overcome my weaknesses, I just let them flow and let things happens...)
  3. P. D. Ouspensky' The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution (google it and you can download a .pdf) Eckhart Tolle' The Power of Now (audiobooks on youtube) In the end, reading books doesn't make differences, it's just you practicing meditation, and trying to figure out by yourself.
  4. It's probably matter with the addiction to the dopamine that our brains release when we are in the anticipation of a reward. Studies showed that the level of dopamine is even higher during the anticipation, than the reward itself.
  5. Try to have a physical journal instead of a digitial one, that could helps you to un-hook from internet. Allow yourself to spend some time on facebook/instagram too, like one-time-per-week and find a balance.
  6. Thanks for sharing your experiences, and for inspiring writtings. I can't wait for that ^^ I'll be definitely following this journal. I've heard of someone who made the Ayahuasca, and have the capaticty to go into someone else "mind" or spirit (psychological) and unlock things, from negative past experiences. It's a friend of mine in which I trust who told me this story, I got the phone number of this "healer" but I never had the courage to call, to ask him some questions, such like "How to do that ????" I have fantasmed on time travel through power of conscioussness, but scientists says that it is finally impossible (note : I consider sciences like another opinion). It remains me the story of Ettore Majorana who studied time his whole life though mathematics/physics, and disapeared on a specific date, a date that he chosen years before (people think of a planned suicide). I also watched videos on youtube of people who have received (often not by choice) the capacity to hear deaths voices and help people communicate with them (I'm aware that youtube is full of fakes, but I saw videos in my native language which seems really convincing and felt "real"). So it seems to be there is conscioussness of death bodies floating somewhere (in a "bardo" as buddhists says), which I think is kinda cool, plus there is something like "angels" or guides. I rode "the war of art" by steven pressfield (a book advised by Leo), the author talk about a divine consciousness, or a "muse" that feeds our imagination, when it comes to create something for the good of humanity (a piece of art as exemple in the book, like the 7th symphony existed before Bethoven, but he was just the right guy to "hear" it). I don't know if it's true or not, but in the end it doesn't matter, I find it inspiring and it helps. That all I have to say, a lot of questions, but I can't figure out until I manage to meditate more seriously.
  7. Samsara, Baraka, Qatsi trilogy (three of a kind)
  8. I'm 25 so I understand your feelings/nostalgic about the ps1, especially the sounds and musics that came to ears again, again and again, when you'r stuck at a level doing 10000 attempts. I think music for video games is a very creative place.
  9. Here is an upload : https://www.sendspace.com/file/wvpk8n Breakcore, I've heard of but not a big fan. I'm sometimes confused about many genres around breakbeat, big beat, drum'n bass and sub categories of each... As leo says in the life purpose course "do not consider yourself as a competitor, but a creator", so I refer only on my feelings when it comes to music. I think the reason why we like what we like, and dislike what we dislike, are very personal blend of what we've heard and combined with past experiences. I'm more into aerial/dreamy stuffs, contrasted with ground/raw drum beats (I'm drummer). I suggest we share our mails in PM and continue this discussion, it may not be the purpose of your thread to talk about music production
  10. No no I listen sometime to some hardtek, but I'm more into making oldschool breakbeat and liquid funk. The last artists I've discovered are Ruby Booms, Blackmill, and Aleksander "Savant" Vinter. Do you know Neoretro DX ? It's a nice, free and unrated substractice synth for making chiptune textures.
  11. A song with a self help/actualization theme is something different than a song that personally triggers your will power. Here is one of my fav help/actualization theme music :
  12. Music in my #1 too ! I listen to a lot of different things. I'll send you my songs when it will be done I like your vibes.
  13. I think the solution is acceptance. I mean by acceptance : doing what's most emotionally difficult, so here dealing with criticism. Sometimes I force myself to go cinema to watch a blockbuster (even if I don't like that), because friends called me. It can be a growth experience, plus the opportunity and analyse the film and understand "why did they made these choices in direction/production ?" (just and exemple)
  14. Hi, I checked your soundcloud link on another post, could you talk about your making music process in your journal ? I'm producer too (I don't have anything to share yet).
  15. 1. I've discovered lastly the concept of "White Knight" syndrome, I don't know if it's concrete or fashion-psychology, but I'd like to know what are your thinking about it ? I did not watched yet your videos on dealing with toxic relationship and such, so maybe my answers are here. 2. Also I'd like to know your insights on neurosciences, neuroplasticity and neurochemistry. There is a lot of connections to makes with self-help. It's somehow technical, but sometimes it helps to get into how things works, to have a better understanding. (For exemple : the role of dopamine in anticipation of rewards, how to create new connections while a meditation or visualisation exercices, how conscioussness at different levels works related to brain waves...). I feel like turning our greatest weakness into a strengh, is like a way to create connection between an existing neurons-network, and a new one... Thanks !!!
  16. Some people describe very transcendent experiences while meditating in a lucid dream, it's like the brain applify the experience like an accelerating wheel with no friction (it's why nightmares tends to generate more nightmares). If you'r used to meditate eyes closed, keep them open while meditating in a dream, because you could accidentaly wake up yourself by re-openning them in waking life. Once I felt into the "void", I think it was REM stage but witout imageries, I was like conscioussness floating in the middle of nowhere. Some people/yogis can fall asleep and keep lucidity even in deep sleep, that's awesome Digging deep in subconscious, and creative purposes is why I'm interrested in lucid dreams. I'm not experienced nough to do that, but it's possible to invoke characters that represent parts of your subconscious, and talk with them. Also the brain in slow waves makes connections more easily, between aquired knowledges, so it's cool to find original ideas.
  17. Lucid dreaming is one of my favorite topic ! I'm not regular lucid dreamer but I did few. It is a profound experience to realize you are dreaming, and it can occur to your waking life too. The book "Are you dreaming" by Daniel Love is perfect for beginning, while "EWOLD" by Laberge is a little bit more advanced. Check out dreamviews.com, it's a living community
  18. Try this : - Seth Godin "Purple Cow" and "Tribes" audio books on youtube, or TED. - V.S. Ramachandran & William Hirstein "The Science of Art : A neurological theory of aesthetic experience".
