  1. @Leo Gura Is it reasonable to assume that god would want to share? And I thought we are all part of god (and the totality of god at the same time somehow). Isn’t in that case, god inescapably selfish? He is just sharing with himself. And you said what’s the point of being an all powerful god if you can’t share? I don’t know, does there have to be a point? Did god get to choose what he is? And what would I do if I were god? I don’t know. Apparently I already am. If I had no needs, desires, infinite power and an eternity of time, I don’t know if I would do anything. Why use the power? If there are no desires or needs, the power is meaningless. I could create limited fractions of myself in order to give myself desires, but why would I do that? I’m made of love right? What’s the point of creating this hyper complicated reality only to give myself desires, which much of the time, aren’t fulfilled? I could go on and on and on with these questions, but something isn’t clicking with me here.
  2. @SoonHei Sorry but that answer doesn’t really make much sense, I would recommend watching Leo’s video first and then you might get a perspective on what I’m asking
  3. @Synchronicity That doesn’t answer the question, there needs to be some reason a subject desires something. Saying “idk just cuz lol xd” isn’t a serious answer
  4. So, Leo has mentioned many times that we should work towards the betterment of others because fundamentally they are actually us (amongst many more reasons). Given this, there seems to be a huge problem that comes up. Say we want to improve the lives of others, one way of doing this would be (and this is specific because it needs to be) to eradicate all parasitic creatures that harm humans. By eradicating something that we would assume can feel, and assuming that the parasite is actually me, am I not in a situation where I’m benefiting and hurting myself at the same time? If so, what should I do?
  5. Simple question. Why does it exist. Don't say that suffering and non-suffering are a duality, that is just handwaving. IF GOD IS ALL LOVING, SUFFERING SHOULD NOT EXIST, EVEN IF ITS AN ILLUSION, CONSTRUCT, OR DUALITY.
  6. Hey guys. I went to college for the first semester and dropped out after. I thought it was stupid as shit. Slow teaching, pointless homework, information that can be either entirely found on the internet or is completely useless, etc. I really don’t want to go because of how soul draining it is to put up with all of the BS but I’m really concerned about money. Starting a business is hard, especially coming up with a viable idea. Getting a job is out of the question for me long term. Fuck working 9-5 for something I don’t care about. What should I do? A) Suck it up and go back, B) Start a business, C) Try to climb the corporate ladder (and probably get fucked promotion wise cuz no degree)
  7. God can think? You are speaking of god as if god has a body or is a person. @Conrad
  8. Right but cells (as far as we know aren’t alive) They are just a process, or a pattern. Life without consciousness. From our point of view, it just seems like we are the same way, but happen to have consciousness. Cells don’t experience joy either @Truth Addict
  9. @Shiva why do we live in a reality in which suffering is necessary for survival. Given that reality is infinitely loving.
  10. From what I’m understanding, love isn’t actually anything. If everything can be loved, then what is love? It appears meaningless. Meaningless in the sense that it doesn’t actually have any value at all. @Truth Addict @Scholar
  11. You’re just not answering the question @Truth Addict also, I’m not ranting against anything, this isn’t some retarded childish tirade. I’m just asking a question.
  12. Yes I agree with you, but apparently, reality is all loving, it’s infinite love. I don’t see why something that is all loving would also include suffering. I really don’t care how it’s made, whether it be through myself, or an illusion, or whatever. The point is, it exists. This causes me to believe that it isn’t all loving. @Scholar
  13. Happiness doesn’t need justification from my point of view. Sadness, however, does, or else the sadness is purposeless and therefore fundamentally a waste of time and an unjustified horrible state of existence with no reparation. From no point of view, happiness and sadness are irrelevant and neither of them need justification. @Preetom Also, if there is a possibility to avoid pain, I will ALWAYS avoid the pain. If instead of working to get money (assuming the work is bad) I could just have the money, I would just have the money. We only experience voluntary suffering for greater well-being.
  14. Why is reality set up that way? @Enlightenment @possibilities
  15. @Preetom yes I understand how relativity works. And yes I understand that happiness/sadness comes from me. That still doesn’t justify their existence. (Happiness doesn’t need justification, sadness does) I’m using happiness and sadness as metaphors for positive and negative emotions in general.
  16. Yes but why does that anger and illusion exist at all. Why are my glasses off in the first place? Why do I think I lost them? I really love my life but I’ve been through quite a bit of pain, non of which was necessary. I’m asking if reality is infinite love, why does pain exist at all? Even if it’s an illusion or perspective based or relative or a result of ego or a duality or whatever. @Leo Gura
  17. Yeah but why does it have to be that way.. @tedens is it possible for a life to be worse than it is good? If so, why does that exist? It doesn’t seem so loving to me.
  18. @Preetom Happiness needs no reason. It is it’s own reason, and sadness is also reasonless, but it’s by definition terrible and that which NEVER justifies itself. If you can get rid of suffering, you always will. And in the case of emotion, if it “seems” real, or “feels” real, it’s is real, right?
  19. @Preetom not really.. it exists whether I like it or not. If it were up to me, I’d get rid of it. Or at least reduce the shit out of it.
  20. So there has to be an opposite of something for any specific thing to exist? Why? Also, from an egoic perspective this still doesn't justify suffering. @Inliytened1
  21. could god not do that through a difference mechanism? @Inliytened1
  22. @Inliytened1 why would one dream up hell. my life is fine, this is conceptual.
  23. There still seems to be no point for the existence of suffering at all, even from a limited perspective. It's like god is temporarily torturing "himself" for no reason other than boredom. @Inliytened1 then again, why the fuck would nothing be bored.
  24. yes but who cares if its from my perspective, it is real to me. That is all that matters to me. @Inliytened1 You keep blowing it off by saying its a duality, who cares if its a duality. That doesn't practically actually mean anything.
