  1. I don't know what it is about passenger but Everytime I hear him sing I feel like he is singing a song of my life https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=fQpHLrWRpxc&feature=share The Long Road --Passenger We've walked the long road and you've worn it well You stitched yourself up when you fell Keep your memories in jars Carry secrets in scars Beneath your shell You've seen some good days, and some bad ones too You weave through fashion and trend You've seen a sun rise on an ocean blue You've seen it set for the dearest of friends You found faith but you, chose to doubt it You found love but you, left without it And now you don't want, to talk about it You travelled down through foreign lands Touched mountain tops and golden sand Seen pyramids and temples made of stone Keep seashells in a cashmere scarf A treasured book of photographs In every single one you stand alone You've seen Vienna and the Berlin wall As you watched the decades fall The letters that you wrote never made it home Your birthdays flew past like June With Christmas days in hotel rooms And new years eve with people you don't know You built friendships but they, sailed without you You never meant it and that's why, they doubt you They don't ever talk about you You're older than you used to be The mirror weaves a tapestry Of lines that dance and shimmer 'round your eyes You stare back at a man, forever holding out his hand As if the answer's going to fall out of the sky But the penny never dropped And no man has ever stopped time flying by
  2. Trump is pulling more art of war type crap to try to get the focus off the new candidates and bring people in the mud. Republicans support Trump 90% of the time so he was not saying this to get Republicans support but just distraction and trying to knock another hole in the enemy He is like 3 steps ahead just trying to distract and disrupt the democrats This is pretty sick actually
  3. @mandyjw, have you ever heard of Akiane. I don't know why I'm drawn to her artwork, but for some reason when things don't make sense I listen to her talk and things make more sense to me. She is what I would consider an earth angel. What I love about her is like because of how she grew up she almost comes at things with a childlike beauty and almost as if she is taken away from the world in some ways to a safe place to display her artwork. It's like almost all of her rough spots are not even there anymore and she is displaying it all. Yes it might be partly how she markets her artwork, but whenever I listen to her and see her painting I feel peace. That's how it feels to me sometimes in nature. Yes nature is definitely so harsh and so soft at the same time both times. I don't know why but I feel like we have so many harsh things in the world and they are always running around in our heads and I guess Akiane is a bit of a sanctuary of a person so calm and relaxed what it would be like enlightened in just peace. If you don't have time for the 10 minutes I recommend starting at minute 6:30
  4. I don't see how anyone can thrive in these short segment debates. No time to really dig into it They all need to take 15 mins a piece on each issue
  5. @mandyjw It's time like this I just love the moon in silence. Breath it in. Remember it's temporary how we are feeling. It's so hard to see such materialism and waste but we need the time to contemplate to see the world's beauty Pic from tonight
  6. When I was younger I was drawn to Christianity because of Christ and His words. When I got older I kept seeing inconsistent behavior in others and myself who call themselves Christians. I encourage everyone to go back to the reason. Back to reading what Christ truly said It has so much more hope. And you can't find it seeking it in 1000 scrolls of the phone of Facebook or Twitter
  7. @mandyjw the words of Christ are powerful and open our eyes to so many things.
  8. @mandyjw oh I hope you are ok!! I hope it's not Lyme
  9. Where are you biggest self limiting beliefs and biggest self strengthened beliefs Relationships Spirituality Education Career Finances I personally know and believe I will be rich and know exactly how to get there. I rarely have self limiting beliefs on wealth and believe it everyday I will be quite wealthy I do have a ton of self limiting beliefs in relationships on lies I have told myself that sometimes become the reality. Alot of them are foolishness as people love to be my friend just have alot of hurt baggage I have realized I haven't fully worked through
  10. It's amazing how self-limiting thoughts really become the reality of one's life. I've noticed in life that most of these thoughts below are just the lie we tell ourselves that become our reality I'm not good enough to.... I'm not smart enough to.. People don't .... I'm not good with .... It's too hard to do that.... I will never...
  11. "God is the highest good of the reasonable creature. The enjoyment of him is our proper; and is the only happiness with which our souls can be satisfied. To go to heaven, fully to enjoy God, is infinitely better than the most pleasant accommodations here. Better than fathers and mothers, husbands, wives, or children, or the company of any, or all earthly friends. These are but shadows; but the enjoyment of God is the substance. These are but scattered beams; but God is the sun. These are but streams; but God is the fountain. These are but drops, but God is the ocean.". Jonathan Edwards
  12. I am fascinated by this guy who talks about ideas for people that in the VC space or financial space but is so different from everyone in that space. Have you ever noticed someone who really is speaking in a totally different way approaching a whole new way
  13. @mandyjw great perspective fits well
  14. Hey Mandy and jbram This book reminded me of how I must go out of my way to just continue loving my oldest daughter who I have been estranged from (long story). She is 19 and I had the most amazing meeting with her tonight I am absolutely amazed I have always felt like she always blamed me and treated me like this boy in the book but my persistence at loving her unconditionally has paid off Even tonight Yes sometimes we do everything for our kids and are treated like this boy treats us but unconditional love is like that tree is for our kids always I don't know how to explain how amazingly happy I am. Like this thing I have prayed for for years she is wanting a relationship with me again oh my goodness I'm serious I have been estranged from her the last year since we had a good conversation it's amazing to see her want one again If this sounds like a Raving crazy man in the Midwest sorry just so happy. It's so hard to be estranged from your daughter
  15. WOW great topic, how in the world does this come up That's a good question. I just remember when I was young just felt so connected to the message of the book, about trying to love someone so deeply willing to sacrifice all for them. I'm not sure why but that's a reoccuring theme in my life like loving the song "A message" by Coldplay so deeply. Maybe because when i was very young my birth mother and I were seperated and she went out of my life at 2 years old so maybe a part of me wishes there was a deeply loving unconditional persisitant self-sacrificing mother who would have done this for me. I did get a step mom at age 5, but clearly there is alot of pain of losing a mom at age 2 that i haven't fully reconciled. When I became a teenager my biggest thought was that the giving tree was alot like Jesus Christ in His love for people so I connected with the book mostly through understanding unconditional love, sacrificial love and how God's love for us is continual and through all stages in life. Think about how many stages in life this tree just continued to love. Yes there is a painful side to it too, but love always is like that giving up for others and sometimes you love them and they don't love back or take advantage of you, but that didn't make the Tree's love any less amazing when you think of it over a lifetime. In the end we all just want to be loved and around people who will spend time with us so it's a huge felt need for everyone as well. I think you could think of the dark side of this as well meaning this tree gave up so much, lost so much, but I always saw the deep unconditional love just shining through.
  16. That was my favorite book when I was younger. I also remember doing a project on it in high school for some reason since I liked it so much. Wild!!
  17. @Shin in an alternate universe there is this guy Trump and no one cared about what a jerk said and no he wasn't president. I like that universe. Ha ha Mandy. I get up early too. Generally before 5am
  18. I love music and listening to music especially if the lyrics are well written
  19. @Leo Gura true I sure wish I was more like the other one. When I write poems or do things for others or in tune or encourage others I feel more like the real me though
  20. Coldplay is my favorite band I believe
  21. @Leo Gura if one has a strong tendency towards the rational side this sometimes is because of their career requirements. I know in my career this is major requirement to do the job like that but I understand that's not the end all of intelligence and emotional intelligence
  22. @DrewNows hey buddy I don't have alot to add other than say I feel your pain you went through when younger I hope you can find healing and growth and forgiveness through it ---of yourself and those you love
  23. @jbram2002 Thank you, oh lord, for the white blind light. Let me tell you about heartache in the loss of god... wandering, wandering a hopeless night. Moonshine night, mountain village insane in the woods in the deep trees. ...in the deep trees... ...in the deep trees... Jim Morrison "the white blind light"
  24. @mandyjw yes I agree but I hear you. I do think that you can love someone deeply though despite their faults and have a deeper connection like a soul mate than other loves that are just "in love" like this quote maybe the term soul mate isn't helpful totally but I mean that as someone who matches your love languages quite a bit One where you love them very very much and connect well. I guess I can talk about that later too But yes I was just feeling that quote when you wrote it so I just messed around a bit since I think in quotes alot or remember an old quote that someone tells me
