If it was done mostly from air, surgical on seniors of hamas and much shorter in time, then it was rational, but we have a government ruled by extreme tiny parties that can collapse it in any moment if Netanyahu won't do what they ask him to do. This is the main reason.

Benett in 2015: " Bennett emphasized the fundamental difference between ‘Likud’ and ‘The Jewish Home’ and said: ‘The Jewish Home is essentially the only party that opposes a Palestinian state; all the other parties support a Palestinian state. It is the only party that acted against the release of terrorists, while all the others essentially voted in favor.' " https://mobile.srugim.co.il/article/105276

@Raze The opposition parties (even part of Likud) were all for a Palestinian state before oct7 and from following them I believe they still do, but can't declare on it now as it is publicly sensitive today. Let the collective trauma cool a little bit.

Nice. There is a hope.
-
@Raze Lets hope for a positive answer from hamas to the deal, a perimeter around Gaza, an international force in Gaza, a different education system and a Two State solution with a perimeter seperating them in the West Bank.
-
@Breakingthewall The thing is that the children in Gaza live in a cult under hamas rule, and are victims to its education system that infect their minds, so their life was miserable before the war too. But it isn't right for them to be punished (even indirectly because they weren't attacked intentionally) on something they aren't responsible for.
-
@Breakingthewall I think that if the war in Gaza were to end at the beginning or at most mid of 2024 after the elimination of top hamas leaders (including Hezbollah and Iranian regime nuclear capabilities that were valid goals) would have shown enough strength already. From mid 2024 the continuation in Gaza did more harm than good let alone the problematic way this war is done by the Israeli government which was focused on destruction rather than focused only on hamas which would be the right approach.

Israelis (as always) tweets. This time about the new Trump-Netanyahu deal.
-
The higher the perspective, the less it is projected and the more responsibility it takes to address the root of the problem, what in high chance will prevent the killing of the alien you mention, and also will be able to criticise the egotism of Trump in the least triggering way (due to the very minimal projection) possible what will convince people more effectively to think about it.
-
Edit: Now I understand you talked about his voters. I think they think everybody is wrong and Netanyahu is the right one.

The current Israeli government is stage red to Blue the most extreme we have ever had. Israel in average is Blue Orange Green distributed similarly to the US. -
@PurpleTree Highly criticised by key politicians and journalists here too (of course his base voters like this) and this is only in the first hour.

The actual original motto is from the book of Mishley: "Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." Which means that there is a reasonable chance they grasped ruses of war or combat deceptions as necessary in order to survive. After all the survival threat was very real especially at the beginning of the state. By the way, the sentence "We will wage war by trickery" is still a well known sentence I remeber I heard here and there couple of times. But I must say I have never felt a problem in it. Because if we see the other side as trying to diminish us (lets take Iran or Hezbollah or Egyptian army, or Jordanian army before the peace agreements) - what is the problem there with doing the war in creative and tricky ways?

Mass events from now on must be secured properly, no matter the political side. -

@Joshe This artificial forgiveness act of her just makes me feel that many months of emotional process and healing are ahead of her. -
@Raze The Arab peace initiative was first introduced in 2002 when during those years Israeli prime ministers offered the Palestinians proposals that included withdrawal to nearly 67' line with areas exchanges, partial evacuation of settlements and division of Jerusalem. Rabin, Barak and Olmert governments kept building in those areas almost entirely inside the main Israeli population blocs near the Green line, areas that widely seen as part of a future agreement anyway.
-
No contradiction here. Years of terror pushed Israelis to the right, but before oct7 most Israeli parties supported Two State Solution. I am not trying to convince you of anything, just calmly saying the facts. You may believe it or not.
-
hamas has succeeded in making the support of a Palestinian state an unpopular stance leaders who supported it in the past now afraid to talk about.

@Hatfort And because people are not stupid they will anyway vote for what they actually love. They knew to put Israel very low in the ranking when the song wasn't good in 2021 and 2022 and to put Israel very high when it was good in 2023 before the war, what shows this is an authentic European voting all along the way. The 20votes are true and available to all the countries equally and all the four Israeli songs in 18', 23', 24' and 25' were very popular in views even before the voting.
-
@Hatfort Watched it now. I think freedom of speech means that societies and people have the right to show others and truthful sides of theirs, regardless of their governments actions. To not fall into double standard I thought again that maybe Russia should participate too. However I think, at least to this moment, that Russia is a special case in which a boycott is one of the only ways to weaken irreplaceable dictatorial regims, let alone the relatively simple distinction between the aggressor and the oppressed in Ukraine-Russia war, in comparison to the complexity and long history of Israel-Palestinian conflict. Regarding the voting, I see the crowd voting result as authentic and valid for the reasons I mentioned in another thread: Also: 1. The EBU has approved the validity of the voting. 2. Before Netta (Israel) has won in 2018, her song made Israel to be the favorite to win ESC in YouTube and the official site of the polling. This is an organic dynamic. 3. Israel ranked 3rd in the betting odds for Eurovision 2025 right after its song was released - very close to its final 2nd place result.

@PurpleTree Israelis are often more direct. Sometimes it means less manipulation, less hypocrisy and more warmth. There are pros and cons in every culture.
