Can anyone recommend any resources, books or videos, that discuss what it's like to live in authoritarian states? Like, how to thrive and survive, overall morale, how people feel about the lack of rights, oppression in general, etc.

Part of it is the lobbying. I can't find the full length Al Jazeera video, maybe it was pulled from YouTube? But, I did find this clip from that video. This is from a report detailing that CNN and BBC didn't allow guests to use the word "genocide"

@zazen This is all something I need to get clearer on. From what I can tell there are a few different threads throughout everything I've seen going on. White nationalism, capital elite interests, and Trump's (and/or maybe even Miller's) ego-centrism (narcissism, sociopathy, impulsivity, self-preservation). Imperialism isn't something I've given much thought because at first I thought the US was isolating. Democracy is being gutted and the economy is being destroyed. What do we expect to remain? For what reason are we expanding and for who? Trump's narcissism adds complexity to the mix. It can be difficult to tell what the motives are for some of the US decisions and actions. For example, the acquisition of Greenland. Is this imperialism, Trump's narcissism, or does it serve the interests of the elites? Or is it all three? National security / imperialism? Maybe, it is in a strategic location. Narcissim: Trump says he likes Greenland because it's big and he wants to own it. He could also be doing it to break up Nato for Putin (or for a pat on the back from Putin). Interests of the elites? Ken Howery, a member of the Paypal mafia, is the ambassador to Denmark and part of the "network state" movement. Greenland has a shit ton of minerals. Peter Theil and other techno-fascists are drooling. We could ask the same question about Venezuela? Why is the US targeting Venezuela? Which of the three motives apply?

I've been sitting on this one for a while because I didn't want to sound conspiratorial but it's time to talk about Palantir. This is not a new video, but I have gone down enough rabbit holes that suggest that this is where we are headed. Don't forget, Palantir has been testing their weapons out in Gaza. Isreal is working with the Palantir. We're talking about a government using Palantir to commit genocide. And, the US is also working with Palantir. Here is a co-founder of Palantir straight up admitting that Palantir is about targeting commies, aka lefties. Connect the dots.
