First BE, establish Your BEING, this means how You experience Life within Yourself is determined by You, so be Peaceful of Your own nature no matter what is happening, then Your not a slave to outside situation. Right now the majority of ppl are slaves to what ppl say, think or do to them, other than actual physical torture upon Yourself, how can someone hurt you? Fix that first..

Then go out and perform Action, DOING, in the world, go for whatever goal or thing You want to go for, because now Your on a stable base Emotionally, your not reactive anymore, then You will go into situations without fear, your Aware of Your surrounding, You can sense danger and avoid it but Your not Emotional dependent on anything, this gives You great CLARITY as to how to navigate thru life and avoid situations You do not need to experience.

Then You will HAVE, and not be attached to it in any way, You got success in life, a new car, house, boat, travel anywhere, but if You lose it you don't crave it and get depressed or anxious about lossing it, most ppl that get successful today get worried about losing it, this is Attachment.

Simple formula, BE--> DO--->HAVE, most are doing it backwards, they are DOING to HAVE then BE, but they never get past the Doing/Having part and suffer greatly along the way..

Your backwards part is wrong. Just saying. Most people think they need to have something before they will then do.

  2. It depends on what you want in your professional career.

Most of the top CEOs or CFOs or even normal managers have uni degrees or even higher certifications so if you are aiming to achieve a high position in a big multi national companies, then you should go get a degree for a start.

If you are confident of making it on your own or that you can start a company and make your own money, then you may not need a degree.

  3. They are all similar practices but it's harder to go deep on shadow work or letting go and may even produce undesirable results.

There are some things that are not really possible to let go. For example, you may have a disease in your body (say hepatitis) or you have a severe back pain or something. You try to let it go? Does it disappear?

Probably you can let go of some emotions but not the pain. Your thoughts might even be reinforced if you keep thinking about the diseases and pain.

You probably should practice some forms of accepting (which is also like letting go).

  4. Why so many bad advices?

Doing Health > Having health > seeking health

Doing health isn't better than having health.

If you have Aids and cancer and varieties of other diseases, doing health isn't going to help much.

In essence, you should be healthy first. Not trying to do health only when you are sick.

Health for health’s sake > Health for longevity

Health for well being > health for health's sake.

Imagine if your body craves for something but you ignore it. For health's sake, you decide to go vegan. You ended up cooking over fried veg with unknown sauces and preservatives added to them. How healthy can you be?

Of course, another would be following societal norms like drinking 8 glasses of water daily. That's for health sake but maybe your body needs less water. You should listen to the body.

Haha 7 habits is long winded and most of the advices are common knowledge these days. Like who doesn't know you need to set goals and sharpen yourself? But I do agree S.Covey write very well.

Since you already read Cal Newport, you know finding your passion is terrible advice, then work on something else.

One part of life is to earn lots of money so that you feel financially secured or better.

@hyruga Is it better than 7 habits of highly effective people

Both are excellent books! But the advices may be a bit cliched or outdated.

For example, in the book, he will tell you to model other successful people or to walk powerfully. These advices may sound like common sense now but 30 years back not everyone knows about them. He also wrote and talk in a convincing way which is good for changing your mindset.

  7. There are also many ways to increase your chances of winning in a power slap. There's huge science involved.

First, you don't have to actually slap the person. They won't notice anyway without proper video scrutiny. When you slap, you don't slap with the whole palm. You actually reduce the area as much as possible and hit with the heel bone of the palm.

There's technique for swinging and stuff.

There's technique of where you hit the person on the face. There are some weak spots on the face which boxers always hit.

  8. There is no point to life. Your life is based on the conclusions and beliefs that you have drawn up.

If you believe that you are the only important person here, then you want attention and want people to look up to you. You become a narcissist. That becomes the point of your life unless you can break out of it.

On a broader sense, you can say that the point of life is to grow consciously.

I'm biased towards distance  running and wrestling

Cole Hocker's upset over Kerr and Ingebrigstein in the 1500

Sifan Hassan's gold in the marathon, plus bronze in the 10k and 5k

RIP Kelvin Kiptum (men's marathon world record holder)

    Japan's dominance in freestyle wrestling

Hassan's win in the marathon was quite predictable if you actually watch the race. She was hiding behind the leaders all the way, benefiting from drafting (less air resistances). Hassan also has an incredible kick in her and can run really fast if she needs towards the end. Assefa should have just run all out with 2km to go if she wants to win.
