  1. Well, ya never know. It’s possible for more than 75 million people to be wrong. No guarantees, right?
  2. Hmmmmmmmm, I was under the impression it involved inclusion of all perspectives.
  3. Community colleges are great places to dabble in different interests and find out which you would rather major in. They’re cheap with no pressure to commit right away.
  4. If he’s a man of his word, and if Democrats in Congress agree on unification rather than a liberal agenda, there will be many compromises and stalemates to keep the current status quo. The Republicans have already undergone one traumatic event as it is. It may not be helpful to keep pushing for social reforms and pile on more trauma.
  5. Well, the U.S. decided not to keep moving to the right. That was step 1. Now, step 2 is to determine whether or not to push left. There’s a bit more than 2 months remaining for Democrats to figure out step 2.
  6. Absolute I amness sounds suspiciously like solipsism, unless I’m misunderstanding. Dropping the “I am” leads to absolute isness, or absolute being. That’s the trick. You’d have to drop the you.
  7. That’s exactly why Hillary and Biden got the Democratic nominations instead of him. They aren’t as progressive. Sanders isn’t the problem, nor are his policies.
  8. I don’t think anybody with the label “socialist” attached to them is going very far in the U.S. for awhile. Gen Xers and Millenials would have to grow old and die off so those who remember a USSR become a minority. I think Bernie’s hit the ceiling for Socialism in America.
  9. I’m not sure about that. If the current trend holds with hordes of Californians moving to Texas, along with Texas becoming more urbanized in general, it could turn blue by 2028. Once that happens, Republicans are done.
  10. Maaaaaaaaan, do we have to give this guy a Presidential Library now? Can we just, you know, skip out on that little tradition?
  11. I have no delusion of Biden fixing much of anything, really. I’m just glad he won so things don’t become worse.
  12. I’m inclined to agree, actually. Too much apathy from society in general.
  13. Yeah, I basically just try to live a small and manageable life. I worry only about what is within my control, and don’t try to “save the world”. I also don’t strive for marriage or children, but relationships are still very satisfying. I avoid people mostly these days because of COVID-19, but I look forward to meeting more people and having more experiences when I feel safer about it.
  14. There’s a lot of foreshadowing when the crowd booed at the mention of Obama. A lot of what we’ve seen recently comes from the 2008 election as well as 2012. A lot of backlash. But I agree that John McCain was a decent man.
  15. Ya know, Joe Biden will have a lot of work ahead of him as president. Republicans may still have a majority in the Senate (best Democrats can hope for is an even split), and the Supreme Court is still conservative. However... If any of the above territories of the U.S. attain statehood within the next 4 years, that means 2 more senators each time. What are the odds of any of them having Republican senators?
  16. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/11/07/four-year-nightmare-awaits-joe-biden/ Let’s hope that this is just pessimism that doesn’t actually manifest. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad to have a President Biden next year! I’m just not expecting much.
  17. They helped affect change where people wanted it. Helping people who never asked for it and are reluctant or outright opposed is a consent violation, really. Not helpful at all.
  18. I don’t like that scenario at all. That’s domestic terrorism. One man should be able to go on trial for crimes he has allegedly committed without the threat of war.
  19. It depends on how successful Trump is in court battles and recounts. Also, whenever the results are conclusive that Biden wins is when Trump becomes really dangerous. Everything we’ve seen up until now is a calm and controlled Donald Trump. We still have 2.5 months of him as president, and might stop caring and go completely nuts out of shear desperation and anger.
  20. America went through this horrible phase of conquering territories and claiming them as American soil. Look at Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and American Virgin Islands. Hawaii is now a state, so why not the rest? Along with Puerto Rico and D.C.
