That’s her choice. She is a victim of herself. If she worries you, tell her how you feel. And you can make choices for yourself. Nobody can force you to go down that path with her.

Their are fraternities with high standards, surprising as that may seem. No tolerance toward hazing, emphasis on volunteerism in the community, academic achievement, and things of that nature.

I get that. I’m a thinker, not a doer. It’s great for journeying inwards and introspecting, but not so much for journeying outward and trying things. Just be you. Don’t force things on yourself. If you want to do something else, do it. If you succeed at it, great! If you fail at it, find the humor in it and laugh it off. It’s your life, and nobody can determine for you how you should live it.

All good points, and it’s telling that you’re here after hearing this website seems like a cult. I have a friend who grew up nearby, and I visited their place a couple times. During one of the visits, we drove by the university and the nearby Vedic City, and something just felt off. Of course, it didn’t help that people there stared at us with disapproving looks as we drove by.

It has the look and feel of a cult, but I could be wrong. Nobody can tell you how you should live your life, though. If it resonates with you, go for it!

Yeah, people are capable of wrongdoing no matter their level of consciousness. But criticisms against them become more tenuous the higher you go in consciousness. Criticisms against the police are well-founded.

Well, on the one hand you have the killing of some unarmed people, and allowing other people who are armed into government buildings. On the other hand, you have an iffy slogan. I think it’s a silly discussion, honestly. Police need to be better. This is non-negotiable. If you want good slogans from the left, listen to Rage Against the Machine and System of a Down.

I just got back to work after a 2 week vacation that involved lots of driving (3000 miles) lots of family (3 of whom are >80, and another whose immune system is compromised) and lots of alcohol and junk food (but also some good food and water). I also got my hair cut and donated for the 6th time during my vacation. But I hardly wore a mask. Just the minimum to not be kicked out of places. And some relatives had COVID already. So who knows? I could be an asymptomatic carrier now. Also, I heard that employees who travelled out of state would have to quarantine and get tested before going back to work. I never told management my vacation plans, so here I am. Let’s see how the next couple weeks go. As for why I had that mindset, it’s my vacation time to spend how I wish. I spent months watching people all around me be idiots trying to live “normally” while I stayed about as distant and safe as one can while still working. This was my turn to be the idiot and not care. Selfish? You bet. But my mood is MUUUUUUCH better, and life feels like easy mode right now. I ended 2020 and began 2021 on a waaay high note!
