Because this ability directly contradicts with the ego. When you go meta you are going beyond and almost disregarding the ego. So even if you have this ability it's easy to just side with the ego as it is always pulling you due to survival of its own existence. I would agree that most on here have a gear most do not but certainly not all. Think about it. This forum is meant for debate and to do this you have to take a side. A lot here can see the other perspective and the ones that don't- well not sure how they got here. -

Because most people lack the ability to go meta. It's a very special ability that not everyone has. Which means to step outside themselves. -

This is the basically the "What is bias" video. Your perspective will always be skewed by your own experiences and upbringing. You will have bias due to this. Any finite being has bias. It's part of coming from a finite point of view. And we all here in finite form have a specialized limited vantage point. A finite being can't see all vantage points from it's own point of view because that's what having its own point of view means. God has no particular point of view and thus can have no bias -

We all deal with addiction to some degree. It's just a matter of how severe it gets and if it's a health impacting one. But we all have them But that's a good point. But that's not self awareness that's really just getting pulled into an addiction. Sometimes it takes years for an addiction to build which to Leo's point would be why it happened after enlightenment for Alan Watts and myself. To further that point and your point as well - at that point you just don't give a hoot in most cases because you've already had the most miraculous thing happen. So everything else is completely mundane and meaningless. That's probably the worst thing or the best thing about it. I have tons of addictions. Work, pleasure, fitness..alcohol. . When I go in i go all in for a while but this neglects other stuff One must always come back to a balance. -

Birth and death doesn't govern what happens in between. You make choices everyday. Is that not you? It feels like you are making those choices doesn't it? That's what I mean by free will. -

In which case do you really need it? -

Well that brings in the philosophical question of free will. If you don't believe free will exists then I think you go too far. But there is some Truth to that. I think we do have free will. Addiction can be physical and psychological. The body can want something but you have free will to fight against it. The mind can want something but you have free will to decide against it. If you forfeit all free will then you are but the arm of God. Nothing wrong with that either but I do believe there is still a choice although sometimes you have to dig deep. -

The people in these meetings completey give themselves over to a higher power but that's only because they have lost all self control in their lives. It has nothing to do with God or whether God exists. They have no self control so they are turning all self control over to a higher power. When really they are turning it over to their sponsor or themselves. -

It doesn't discriminate. I've dealt with addiction and yes it is easier to overcome the more self aware you are but it can still pull you into the darkness. -

Not necessarily. Wasn't Alan Watts an alcoholic.. -

@Leo Gura What it is is they render themselves completely powerless to their addiction and put that power into God to save them. And then the rest is just following the steps and going by a strict book. But I believe if you are to beat an addiction you have to find the power inside you. The God factor is insignificant to what we teach because they are so far behind that. But the fact that they render themselves powerless - maybe it works for some but that puts them in group think- that to me should be a sign. You should not need an outside force or group think to save you. -

It's ineffable this description cannot describe enlightenment nothing can. -

And I've watched you through it all. Through psychedelics and mediation. Although i have no idea how many hours you've spent on meditation. Either way It probably wasn't enough.. but life is not all about enlightenment. Maybe start to accept the fact that you may not get enlightened. Its very genetic unless you cheat. And if you cheat is it really IT? We both know its not..but anyhow It's like me wanting to be 6"4. Maybe it isn't in the cards. -

@Hafiz it's not useful i think AA is a detriment. They put their power into a belief in God which is all concepts. If you want an actual experience of God you won't get their via AA or anything of the like. -
Then stay away from the substances but increase meditation to an hour a day. What is your meditation practice? 10 minutes is not enough. Stare at your hand or find something in the room to stare at for at least an hour. The consciousness dial will slowly ramp up. Until a shift occurs. But you should also be doing self inquiry. I'm not preaching these things from a place of conforming all I am claiming is that God exists but you won't know if you don't explore.

@r0ckyreed yes there is another kind of atheism. It means if you exist show yourself otherwise to me you don't exist. But the true open minded atheist in this regard would be willing to do spiritial practices for God to be revealed. He cannot be stuck to one paradigm. He cannot be paradigm locked. As long as you aren't paradigm locked you can change world views as it becomes apparent to you. Flexibility is key.

In a sense he is abiding by your teachings because your teachings emphasize direct experience. God is a direct experience. So until he experiences GOD defaulting to atheism is the best position. You and I were both that prior. Where he does falter by saying he didn't understand or resonate with your teachings is that he isn't taking up spiritual practice such as meditation or psychedelics. @Daniel Balan have you? Is conforming doing spiritual practices? I don't think so. Because you can be curious as to whether God exists so exploring all avenues isn't conforming.

I'll check it out. Refreshing. But I can tell you for most Christians they are not open minded enough to discover Absolute Truth because they are too stuck in the concepts and beliefs of religion.

You made all the arguments that guys on the right like Kirk would make as to why this is a problem in this country. The question is - is it a problem? Or is it just evolution.

Nice costume thanks for continuing the tradition but this one is the best. 2018 forever baby!

The alternative is nothing. Which you also have lived. Forever. So now there is existence. It has to be some way. And this is it. -

Whats all this mean..summarize. -
Inliytened1 replied to theoneandnone's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@theoneandnone But to be fair you would lose your sanity completely if other isn't real on a regular basis. It's only when you want to go meta that you know it's imaginary and that you are God. But those times can save you days of suffering when times get tough. Thats what the liberation of enlightenment brings. -
Inliytened1 replied to theoneandnone's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Indeed. -

Precisely..imagination literally is reality. The collapse of this duality is perhaps the most beautiful of them all if you can collapse it and also undo it on the fly. That is what being lucid in the dream is.
