Games are still a very controversial thing in my mind ever I've started doing personal development. On the one hand, it's one of my motivations to be more creative and more in the present moment, on the other hand, they take so much time to finish and it's always going to be more worthwhile if you spend that time on self-actualization work instead. I spend about 3-4 hours of gaming per week. That's not a lot. Video gaming addiction is not a problem I have. My biggest concern is the effects of what types of games you play and how much time you spend on it have on your conscious development. I can say that most video game habits will not raise your conscious awareness. Too many of them are mechanical in nature and expect you to be mechanical as you play it. Play games only when you feel you are at your most mechanical state. But realize that any time in a mechanical state can be spent working more towards conscious states if you are strong enough.

It's possible to get emotionally charged up and get focused on self-actualization for a moment, but on an intellectual level, it will be impossible to keep this mindset at all times. You WILL fall off track and keep going back and fall off track again. It's just a matter of not quitting despite that. Good Luck!

Pretty great analogy, I would like to add that on this highway, you're actually driving away from a hurricane. You really have no choice but to keep going, only stopping to do maintenance or replace some parts with better parts. The faster you can drive, the farther away from the hurricane you will be. And maybe you eventually reach a point where the hurricane is so far away that you basically forget that you were even driving away from it and the remaining trip to the destination is just one long relaxing breeze.

His videos on Enlightenment are the most powerful ones for me personally. It's changed the way I view the world in ways my past cynical self and other cynical-type people will scoff at. And not just cynical people, pretty much anyone who does not know anything about enlightenment or spiritual truths are pretty much looking at the world through their asshole. But I'm getting off-topic here. I would say his video on "Understanding Awareness" is so far my No. 1 video he's ever made. I've even got into reading "The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution" and going out of it not with heightened awareness but mostly with just more awareness that I'm not aware. I mean I had no idea just how much my imagination takes me away from reality and into fantasy land. I strongly believe that we are normally awake for 16 hours but even just the average person who meditates is probably conscious only about 30 minutes a day. Which means people spend more than 15 hours in fantasy land while 8 hours actually sleeping. (Also, I'm using P.D. Ouspensky's meaning of "Fantasy Land/Imagination". I suggest you read the book if you haven't already)
