The reason why some people love to engage in dangerous activities, such as mountain climbing, car racing, and so on, although they may not be aware of it, is that it forces them into the Now—that intensely alive state that is free of time, free of problems, free of thinking, free of the burden of the personality.

Move from being aware of objects (like individual chairs, tables, walls, trees, whatever) to having a single field of awareness without the need of dividing it up.

You are simply the empty presence of knowingness in which everything appears and disappears.

What I call meditation is to be knowingly that one.

If you think that people should be nice to one another, then by all means be nice. But when you project that belief onto the people and the world around you as if it were an objective reality, or worse still, as if it were their job to be nice to you, you put yourself at odds with what is, and suffering will surely follow.

Meditation, self-inquiry, contemplation, shadow work. And psychedelics, if you want to go down that route.

When it comes to purpose and finances, working for greedy and unconscious corporations.

It tends to vary, but currently it looks something like this: I get up to turn off my alarm then I go to the bathroom to do the usual stuff and to the kitchen for getting some water. After that I make my bed and tidy up a little bit. If I feel my nose is stuffy, I do one of the buteyko methods for ~5 minutes to unblock it. Then I proceed to my meditation/self inquiry practise. Then, back to the kitchen to grind and make some coffee. Then I dress up, pack my stuff and leave to work.

I've also been wondering the same thing. I came to the conclusion that it may seem random, but we tend to forget about the hundreds of layers of social conditioning, false beliefs and all the unconscious material that are stuck in our psyche. Of course, there are rare cases when enlightenment happens instantly (like Eckhart Tolle), but the majority of people have got to do many years of purification work. I don't have any experience with psychedelics, but I can definitely see why they can help so much in the spiritual growth.
