@non_nothing I can’t sorry. -
Hi, I wanted to know what are some things you do when you feel fed up of doing consciousness or self help work. I don’t mean ego-backlash but like when you just say “I’m getting tired now”. I tend to listen to music or watch some low consciousness movies until I’m ready to start doing the work again. Thank you.

@Sunil Kumar Thats interesting, since that would be self help work I think. Many thanks!!

@Erroneous Thanks for the deep insight. Yes I feel the same as you described some times.

Hello everyone I find this video very important for newbies like myself on the siritual path, because is a huge trap often covered by Leo too. Here the doctor is talking about A Course In Miracles which is a famous spiritual book, but I think that if you listen to it changing “ACIM” to “Actualized.org” it fits perfectly also.

@ivankiss Good post, thank you. I like to see diversity here on this forum because I can reflect on myself. For example if you find yourself tempted to judge someones post you see how there are areas that you can improve or even be more open minded by accepting them. Its a good thing to stumble to harsh replies because they are just projections of myself, so I can be more loving then. The forum is quite perfect from a point o view of acceptance. Every one here is one and I think the majority knows that already. And if not thats ok too. but I see how people who aren’t used to harsh replies can be hurt, but then again, it will be Ok eventually. Thanks again. -

@nado Jesus could forgive because he saw that everyone, especially the people killing him at that moment were himself. People are the projection of your own mind, so those romans were rather the unconscious side of Gods mind which is also the Father and Jesus, so really there is no duality here but rather non-duality. Jesus knew that all that he gives was actually given to himself, so he choose to give forgiveness. Also God is not a “He” but rather a “That” but it doesn’t matters. -

Actually WestWorld S1 helped me to meditate much more seriously (of course after watching Leo’s video on meditation like 4 or 5 times to keep myself going). Although I wouldn’t recommend season 2. Season 1 is enough for self development porpuses. https://youtu.be/SxN5ShX896E -
@Rilles Yes, I mean temptation in the context of when we want to do things knowing that isn’t going to make us happy on the long run or short. Tends to happen a lot while having a backlash. Thanks for the reply.

Hi, the ego backlash video has helped me tremendously, really, thank you. It also made me remember of two bible verses very related to the video, thought to share them. “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it travels through the desert, looking for a place to rest. But when it doesn't find a place, it says, “I will go back to the home I left.” When it gets there and finds the place clean and fixed up, it goes off and finds seven other evil spirits even worse than itself. They all come and make their home there, and that person ends up in worse shape than before.” Luke 11:24-26 “I know that my selfish desires won't let me do anything that is good. Even when I want to do right, I cannot. Instead of doing what I know is right, I do wrong.” Romans 7:18-19

@Joseph Maynor Thats a quite eye-opening story, Thanks for sharing. I also find it very paradoxical that sin doesn’t exist because ultimately there’s no evil nor good, but temptation is a real thing.

I once heard that life is fair, because it's unfair to everyone. -
Seiden replied to caelanb's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@caelanb Hi, If you see very close the core principle of every religion is the Truth or non-duality meaning that everything is one or God. This can’t be transmitted by words, but can be realized by direct experience. Some ancient enlightened people tried to explain it or show the truth but then the majority of those teachings became just words and dogma because it can’t be transmitted by words. non enlightened people became attached to the teachings but very few had the experience themselves. That is why Judaism Islam Christianity Buddhism Hinduism and other religions have very uncanny similarities. The founders ( who didn’t inteded to form a religion but just show the Truth to the people ex;Moses Jesus Buddha and others) had the same enlightenment experiences but the way they thaught it was vey different because of the language and culture. Jesus didn’t tried to make “Judaism 2” he was talking about a totally different thing. he was talking about how you are the light of the world, one with God and the kingdom of heaven. In other words that you are the Truth. the same thing Buddha taught. Then his teachings were corrupted and Saint Paul who wrote the majority of the new testament fused the teachings of Jesus with old school Judaism because he was an ex religious Jew himself. he created Christianity, Jesus didn’t. If you see the majority of the teachings of the church today don’t come from the sayings of Jesus but by quoting Paul. So, just because Jesus was a Jew, people thing that Jews are some kind of special nation. which isn’t the case, Jesus wasn’t racist but rather he didn’t care about nationality since he saw all people as himself. Its like thinking that because Buddha was born in Nepal everyone who is born there is more important or the chosen ones of the world. really doesn’t makes sense except from the collective ego perspective. Thank you. -
Seiden replied to caelanb's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Hi, conventional Christianity is extremely dualistic. But this is intended. Jesus thaught that you were God and talked about how to spiritually awaken. “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? If he called them gods to whom the word of God came —and Scripture cannot be broken— do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? – John 10:31-36 but then almost all the real teachings were destroyed and what we have now in the bible contains a lot of imagination that fits with what people at that time wanted Jesus to be instead of just showing what he really was like. They made Jesus sound like he was the only God and son of God, and no one else. although he thaught that everyone is God. Buddha and Jesus were teaching the same thing from different perpectives culture and language. Hope this help. Blessings. -
An important politician went to see a zen monk and asked “what is the self?” the monk said “what a stupid question, why do you ask such a dumb thing?” the politician got angry and said “How dare you talk to me like that, don’t you know who I am?” The monk said ”Thats the self”

@Joseph Maynor Thank you for the reply. Yes, Judgment really has no point. Interestingly master Mumon mentions Christianity in this book. Saying that “the difference with Buddhism and Christianity is that a pastor leads his sheeps, so you follow him. While here in zen you guide and follow yourself until you find the truth” I loved that he didn’t judged, he just said there is a difference.

Hi everyone. I wanted to thank Leo for the recent video. I was reading the book by master Mumon in Japanase since it is my first language and was surprised that the video came just while I was reading it. in Japanese the book is just 20$! how come. The verses on each picture are writen in old style Japanese so were a bit hard to understand but the english translation you gave in the video helped me tremendously. Thank you very much it was eye opennig. Also, while reading it I had an expansion of consciousness. I felt like the book I was reading and everything surrounding me was just a blank space and I was kind of out of my body just a mind like any other object. then I started laughing, so happy, so thankful. Is this common just by reading a book? Although I been meditating for a while now. but this was more intense than any other meditation session. Thank you again. どうもありがとう。

@EternalForest Hi, Yes I understand how you feel, its kind of scary because we ex chtistians usually have this fear of “What if this is the same feeling as the holy spirit I felt when I was reading the bible, or praying, Maybe there is no God? Its nothing spiritual maybe it was just my brain doing funny things to my body and my mind all along?” But then again there must be a reason of why you aren’t a Christian anymore, why is that? dont tell me, but think probably it didnt made you happy isnt it? maybe the rules, the people, the guilt. I dont know. now, how are you feeling now? Are you feeling better? Base everything you believe in that, in your direct experience. Doubt it (enlightenment) as much as you want, fear it, be confused but pursue it until you find it or until you dont want this path anymore. Also notice that you have expectation as how Gods voice sounds like, and you are frustrated that it isnt clear enough. Think again, Who should tell whom what things are like, the ego or God? Also check this video its helpful if you take your time to watch it. https://www.actualized.org/insights/all-understanding-is-metaphoric Blessings
