  1. The predator isn’t going to self reflect. The people are going to stop *him from entering women’s spaces designed to protect them. People can’t do that if you get rid of categories. This is not a conservative argument, you tell anybody that you’re destroying gender definitions, and they’ll ask you this in return. With trans women it’s different. They have transitioned or are transitioning into being a woman. Just watch your tone and language, this is exactly why progressives are losing and JP has so many followers. You’re not convincing anybody. It’s having the opposite effect.
  2. If you wanted to help me understand you would give me a clear definition of the term. The fact that you didn’t shows you yourself don’t know and that it’s meaningless.
  3. Stage green forgiving stage red.
  4. It's not even close to the Floyd situation. Floyd was straight up disoriented and way more startled. The officer pulled a gun on him. He was telling them not to kill him and said he would rather lay on the ground than sit in the car cause he was so stressed. When did being afraid to die and panicking, two very human responses, become resisting arrest? He wasn't punching the officers or anything that endangered their lives.
  5. Maybe his panic attack started when he saw the cop and progressively grew from there, how do you know? that can certainly happen. I don't think his emotion was fake. If you saw a bear walking in the woods and get a panic attack, we won't say, "well, you were walking quietly 10 minutes ago." Even if he was not sitting in the car it doesn't mean the cops get to kill him. It's still excessive use of force. Of course they can if the signs are there. What do they do with a real panic attack victim or some other attack like heart attack, or asthma attack?
  6. He was pleading them from the start to the beginning. it's so heartbreaking. Of course he disobeyed the cops, he was having a panic attack.
  7. Thanks for sharing this. I watched the video. The cops are clearly at fault here according to me. I don’t understand how it’s George Floyd’s fault at all.
  8. @Dragon Liege I didn’t mean “your university” specifically... Don’t know about other cultures but the Hijras in India traditionally have a biological basis, I’m Indian and have first hand knowledge of the cultural norms. You can’t become a Hijra just like that, at least traditionally. Also they use one of the two gender pronouns. Yes, I know intersex people exist... I’m not talking about them. Kind of disrespectful to assume I don’t know. You know non-binary is different from intersex right? Yea, well it’s still a concern. If you look at people who have this concern as beneath you then... well, it’s your prerogative. Good luck convincing people of your cause.
  9. Sons are expected to stay forever.... So if you find a SA guy to marry, just check on his parents expectations. It is not necessarily a bad thing to live with your parents. I would say most SAs don’t even view it as a negative, like not at all. Many view it as negative to stay away from them. I think it’s a case of cultural difference. You, as an American, would probably like more privacy and freedom than many SAs. Many SA on the other hand, would view kids moving out as a betrayal of their parents. It’s a matter of cultural perspective. There’s no right or wrong here. The only mistake I see many SA parents making is that they come to the West and raise their kids SA style but it goes horribly wrong when their SA expectations are destroyed because the kids are westernized. I think parents should have expectations relative to the culture their kids live in.
  10. Well, the other option was BILL CLINTON’s WIFE! A lot of people loved her too, with Bill hovering in the back.
  11. Calling something right wing doesn’t automatically prove it wrong. How do you stop them then? Do what you will, you will not change gender definitions in the world. You can change that in your little university. Using “they” doesn’t even work in many languages. How many genders do dogs have? This is the exact shit that makes people hate the left and vote Trump in power. There is actual oppression which gets side lined when you focus on such issues. Here comes @Forestluv. ? That’s the definition. Ya, it’s imaginary but we need them. Physical categories don’t have to be limiting, as long as there are no stereotypes around them. What you’re saying is like - “don’t call me white because I have white skin. Orange only defines race based on physical attributes. It is imaginary. Please call me black. Actually call me “non race” because I don’t fit into any category . Therefore I have no white privilege. Actually “non-race” people are underrepresented and suppressed everywhere. You don’t understand what it’s like to be “non-race”.” You criticized Brett for having half-baked ideas, but what you’re presenting is the ultimate half-baked idea!
  12. @soos_mite_ah Ya, so the best way to love them from afar is to become financially independent. (They can’t tell you what you can or can’t do with your own money.) It will get better. Do your parents live with your grandparents? If not, then they’ll understand you moving apart too. They probably don’t expect you to stay with them because you grew up in the U.S. In that way you have it better than SAs who grow up in SA.
  13. This is a typical South Asian problem. Just realize that your parents love you. A lot of the answers are from a western pov. If you’re culturally SA, you know the relationship is not the same, the advice, “forget about your parents” doesn’t work. The relationship is too strong. But I don’t know how SA you are. Regardless, if you want your parents off your back then you simply have to financially free. Especially don’t rely on them. Rent/buy your own place, have a purpose, a stable job, help them with money, and your South Asian parents will leave you alone. All parents want their kids to stand in their own feet. You need to integrate stage orange for this. If you want to improve your relationship with your parents, then that’s a separate thing. My relationship with my parents is amazing. I can live with them forever. I love them. If you want space immediately, then go for a walk, a drive, or hang out outside with friends.
  14. So just today I was at the park minding my own business, sitting away from the crowd. taking in the sunlight, when a young teenager stopped his bike right next to me to start talking. We chatted a bit about trivial stuff for a while. I noticed that his English was not that clear. He had a thick accent, a stutter, and frequently forgot words. English is not his first language I thought. Then out of nowhere, he brought in God. We were talking about the unemployment due to Covid-19. He asked me do I believe we will work without an employer in the future. The smirk on his face made me realize he was not really interested in my answer. So without seeking to argue, I said probably not, since we need someone to teach us how to do things. Then he started saying how he believes that it will happen, again and again. At this point I knew he was a believer but didn't know if in communism or some religion. He was not rude at all. He then asked me if I believed in God. To which I said, ya kinda. He then proceeds to make me read some verses and talk about things he believes in. This goes on for a while. I don't engage, just nod my head. A lot of repetition of words and phrases. "Word of God", "God promised us", "God said", etc. I asked which church he is from? He said he's a Jehovah's Witness. I've heard my friends talk about JWs in our area and saw some of them standing on the corners but I never had the (mis)fortune to talk to one. In between this, I asked him how does he know the Bible is the word of God? This kind of stumped him. But he basically pointed to a verse in the Bible which said 'the scripture is God inspired". Previously I had mentioned if you don't know it is written by God how can you trust anything in it? It didn't compute. From what I can gather he was not that intelligent. After the advertisement session I basically said, "well, look at the time! I need to go". The little glimpse I had of his mind completely blew me away. He was so sincere about what he said. It made me realize the sneakiness of survival and self-bias. From now on I will be more vigilant of my own self-bias and survival, I don't want to waste my life trapped in a mind virus. He was so sincere, completely unaware of survival happening. Everything was subconsciously happening for him, he had no consciousness. When I was talking to him it made me feel like I was so much smarter than him. To me he seems mentally ill. He definitely seems learning disabled. I have talked to religious people in the past, but he was for sure the craziest of them all by far. We all have self-bias, just like him, but less so (or a different type of self bias). I wonder how are everyday people are similar to him in politics (left and right), religion, science, etc. Now on I will look for self-bias a lot more in others, we ALL have it, no exception. Talking to him made me more vigilant and I hope everyone here also takes self-bias and survival seriously. Think critically about things, don't accept things because they appear true or feel good. The best thing that could possibly happen to him is for him to become an atheist. It seems unlikely that he will go beyond orange/blue atheism, this is assuming he ever questions his beliefs. It seems crazy. He seemed crazy. I think this has to do with the mental health crisis in developed countries. Pretty sure such people are unstable and go to such belief systems like fringe religions and political causes to get some stability. And to think, as Leo says, such people are the majority in the world... I scarcely believe it! I wonder if there's a genetic or innate component to intelligence (not limited to IQ), because it seems that guy can never get to the levels of intelligence of a lot of people. Question everything! Question ideas dearest to you! Read authors you disagree with! Keep your mind open! Learn things! Increase your perspective! Stay vigilant!
  15. Damn, it seems stage red devilry pays big time pig time. President, women, money.... give me a reason not to be red.
  16. I don’t think I would know ? It would be hidden away from me. Best guess - embarrassing my parents.
  17. Then I could meditate 24/7 ?
  18. You know this says a lot about women’s psychology too. They get attracted to Red guys like these?! I remember some girls were dating this guy I met at summer school. He got expelled by many schools and even failed classes. He was a drug dealer/addict/gangster. He would date smart girls so they did his homework, lol. And then take them to a forested area to make out with them. For some reason the girls kept dating him ?‍♂️ It was kinda fascinating cause even many boys were pulled or “attracted” to him lol. My friend introduced him to me despite my reluctance, he was attracted too I guess. I think he was stage red. How desperate are women for a boyfriend?
  19. A big part of the reason has to be a failure on the Democratic/progressive side. It’s hard to vote for the side that calls you sexist, racist, bigot for the smallest transgressions. It’s hard to vote for the side with slogans like “believe ALL women”. It’s hard to vote for a side that won’t talk about issues like immigration openly because of political correctness. Now, these things might not be representative of everyone on the Democratic Party, but this is the image some people have of it. These things annoy people so they vote for Trump.
  20. I think Crusader Kings 2 and other grand strategy games from Paradox Interactive are stage yellow. They delve into history, mechanics of society, and politics of the time in a very fun way. https://store.steampowered.com/app/203770/Crusader_Kings_II/ Other strategy games like Age of empires series, Total war and Civilization have large aspects of yellow in them. They are by far my favourite games, I cannot play any other games than strategy. It’s like education but fun.
  21. @Leo Gura I thought you said somewhere rappers are orange? What's the difference between orange showing off and red showing off?
  22. Yes absolutely. I think religion can be a relatively good thing in developing countries where life is hell. I think some people who are naturally not that intelligent/conscious in the developed world can use religion in an agnostic sort of way to combat Nihilism. I see some people doing it. Believing in vague principals of religion but having healthy skepticism, taking religion less literally and more metaphorically. But I would say the ideal way to fight nihilism would be how Leo describes it in his videos which is to see through it, which can be hard if not impossible for everyday people. It's good that you mention nihilism cause religion and nihilism are closely linked. Blue uses beliefs to fight it, orange sort of ignores it and focuses on physical pleasures, and green seek higher pleasures like family, emotions, feelings, etc and believes in unverified ideas to fight it. It's not until yellow that we finally see nihilism (sadness because of meaninglessness) resolved. But that realization happens to individuals, I have no idea how we're going to do it to masses. It seems like a challenge for modern civilization.
  23. No. He seemed to have a learning disability. Like, his IQ was visibly low. Lol What religion? And how did your parents handle it? There are places where majority of people are atheists or don't derive morals from religions. I think average people can derive morals without religion. Maybe from social norms and culture. Yes, some people, maybe like the guy I met, may only be functional within a belief system, idk, I'm not a psychologist so I don't have too strong of an opinion on it. Your morals come from the same place you choose your religion minus the book. Like, the same way someone determined Christianity is the best religion is the same way one would determine what is good/bad. I like the term A-theist better. It means lack of - belief. A-gnostic usually means one who lacks - knowledge of God AND who cannot ever know God. If somebody asked me about Santa Claus, I would say, "I don't believe in it", and that also would imply I am open to it. I wouldn't say "I don't know". I like the term atheist, it's a matter of preference I guess.
  24. It honestly scared me to realize the type of people there are! Smokers, drug addicts, religious nuts, political extremists, cultists, racists, and more just walking around looking normal.
