  1. @AakashYeah dude awareness simply being another descriptor, like being, nothingness, headless. Self inquiry used to see i (even i as awareness) cannot be located How does an "identified awareness - sense of self - identity" simply fall away? Does it simply knowing itself as an illusion bring about its death or is this simply another division of illusion?
  2. This is a good topic. I believe it's our mind normal conditioning which focuses on the result, in reaching this ultimate state. Something good to be aware of... if you are thinking you are finally enlightened, what doe this thought even mean
  3. How long have you had panic attacks? what do you know about them? Im jut genuinely interested. I have a step brother I havent seen in years who has had some troubles with panic attacks. I literally havent seen him since i heard about him having them but i really have no clue about them, why they occur, how they occur, I may have developed a natural talent for suppressing/pushing away fears. There was this one time when i was trying out shamanic breathing, there was this surge of fear that came over me exactly like my only trip. when it happened during the breathing work i automatically quit and went to talk about it, possibly again avoiding the actual experience of that fear
  4. HAHAHA YES nice Idea of “Enlightenment” conceptualized to infinity! we can be very proud of our expansion
  5. @Eric TarpallHmm "curiosity muscle", interesting. Not a bad question to ask oneself. Also maybe observe what sort of mindset you keep throughout the day. Sometimes when if im opportunistic, curiosity tends to be right around the corner. Another big one is appreciation, cuz it's easy to become curious about the things we appreciate
  6. @TheIndigoKid Maybe child-like excitement, wonder and curiousity. Always awesome to discover a new appreciation for life!
  7. Yes this is quite astounding. People simply become capable of things beyond their own beliefs
  8. It’s more like the knowing/understanding why it is you (how it’s there as what is)
  9. Once we give everyone the title of “enlightened” then we will see those who claim “unenlightenment”
  10. That's a good question. What is your answer and has any of these replies swayed your opinion?
  11. Better yet. “Eww I don’t like your ?, would you like an ?”
  12. @Emerald Much appreciated reading your response! So I’d have to conclude the escalation of openness and attraction can be influenced by the beliefs you hold Personality type and reading people can also play a big role. If you spend enough time with someone over the course of a day you’d probably know your compatibility personally in a public area such as a grocery store I find it’s most effective to read subtle cues of attraction (eye contact, smile etc) before doing any kind of approach. But if you’re one to chit chat with strangers, being open, expressive and seeking opinions is great way to start a conversation
  13. How do you feel level of attraction is influenced by one's beliefs? Doesn't it start with physical attraction once you have given enough attention to the other individual? I find it hard to believe you could not feel some sort of attraction for someone within the first few minutes of meeting, at least subconsciously
  14. @Haenirgooday man. Commend you for your personal growth of quieting the mind and understanding yourself. All I can say is keep at it, whenever you know you’re not being authentic, see if you can admit this to whomever you’re with speak your mind and observe it at the same time. Be brutally honest with yourself and others. This will bring you to the destination of being in the NOW and expressing yourself the fact is you gotta give yourself permission to be a vulnerable imperfect human, Its the name of the game
  15. No I think he does this from experience and takes into account how open people might be. He sounds like my kinda barber. seems quite open and able to think for himself
  16. the good thing is you dont and shouldnt take anyone's word for anything! Including mine. Sounds like maybe you need to figure out a way to do some verifying. If you trust both their judgement then look into the possibility they are both right coming from different perspectives and or definitions of what exactly they mean by "awareness" Cheers dude!
  17. this sounds like a good fight, my money's on Leo! oh my bad didnt read your post so well. May i ask who you think is correct? @pluto8
  18. (in a post about memory) @Aakashyeah you don't have a memory (can you be okay with this?)...it's your cue to drop everything and "be" content without knowing, let's see where you go
  19. yes but it depends what our definition or belief about ego ay @Joseph Maynor?
  20. What am I seeking dude? The inner division is the illusion, do you see this? It’s what causes fear pain ego suffering etc
  21. Read your blog critique on Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now book/teachings. You definitely made some very good points! Id like to express my thoughts on it, being a dude who probably would have never even discovered spirituality/nonduality (or how it related to my on life) for a much longer time without reading his book (on accident). Some of your examples seem to pull his words out of context a bit. Tolle dumbs down much of the teachings in attempt at catering to his audience (as you know). People reading his book for the first time who are not seekers (like me) are really able to connect and understand the points he makes and directly relate it to our own life. I agree on most of your criticism about negative emotions, however, again, some quotes simply taken out of context. Obviously surrender does not function the same for everybody. "through examination and articulation of your negative emotions -- so that they can both be accommodated in a new, higher solution" - these are your words, and often with a deeper understanding of our situation, the answer is there quite clearly without any negative emotions present. The triggered negative emotions disrupts clear understanding of our desired path in a given situation. But i agree to a degree, suppression of negative emotions is simply not a solution (learned this the hard way). Does the nondual awareness/consciousness not give the mind a deeper appreciation for everything we perceive? As a westerner i would vouch for most to see this world in a logical, compassionate materialistic sense where most of our beliefs/world views cannot be just thrown out the window. Much enjoyed your critique! I struggled to understand myself for over a year obsessed with Tolle's teachings and it only got me so far. I have your book and i will write a review once i get a chance to finish it
