Wuhu ✨ My Life Purpose in the terms of this forum: Creating an event that allows us to make an experience of the Divine together. My music is the heart piece of it (the intrumentals all are on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/vibv/sets/aufstieg) and with it the story I've written (https://vibevent.net/vibretto/ but it's only German for now). We gather to listen to the music (accompanied by an intricate light show) while I tell the story. There are 7 songs to be sung together—the 7 VIBEMOMENTS, one for each chakra from bottom (root) to top (crown), while we move through an emotional arc loosely resembling a Heroe's Journey. While everyone makes their unique experience we also find together as a Community, there's a sense of Communion that happens. Difficult experiences can be helped by the other's holding the room for someone. Our goal is to become ONE organ and that in our midst and through our united voices awaken a spark of the Divine, that we call the ON in the story. The ON is not the highest God, but it is the demiurge that created humanity and ultimately is humanity, but he is asleep. Our goal is to wake him up and that's only possible through us. There's two versions of cringe for me. One is inclusive the other one is dismissive. I'd separate them by the fact, if the other person would be able to laugh with you at it. One leads to conflict the other to understanding.

Not necessarily. If you see someone dying inside and feel with them, that of course doesn't contradict empathy. The person would probably have laughed at it himself later. But the term "cringe" is nowadays often used to label people or statements one doesn't agree with. It's used as a defensive mechanism of the ego to not really have to realize that that other person is literally also YOU. That goes against truth, because it dismisses parts of oneself, that are being projected on the opposing side. If a topic is labeled "Post all you Cringe here" or something like that I think we will more likely see posts of the latter format. But I could be wrong.

My point is: Cringe kind of contradicts empathy in my view.

Do you enjoy being cringed at? I'm not saying I do, by the way.

Cringe is a human construction. Cringe is a form of Conformity. There's already a Megathread for that meta-topic. This topic is therefore myopic in contrast. @Natasha Tori Maru We don't need a cringe Megathread, because that itself would be cringe by misleading us away from seeing through our own construction of cringe in the first place. QED

You can do it, but that path has a lot of traps & shadows in it. It's very easy to get lost on the way and the consequences would be life altering for sure. Don't do it if you're not really sure you want to explore those areas of the human psyche (including addiction, fear-states, paranoia, etc.) You could easily ruin your life, so watch out.
