TheAvatarState replied to CreamCat's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@CreamCat think of ego death as losing attachment to your sense of self, and seeing it for what it is. Your ego still exists, but you have the ability to not be controlled by it. You still need the ego to survive, but your relationship with it is quite advanced and nuanced. I hope that helped! -

@ShugendoRa get a new gf. Not letting your SO do something like spiritual practice is a huge red flag. You COULD try to convince her that what you're doing is beneficial, but it usually never works out when you try to change other people. Don't waste your time with people who bring you down. -

@billytblack I highly recommend a lemon tek preparation, and my favorite method of ingestion is a fruit smoothie. Just throw some fresh fruit, cold spring water, mushrooms, and the juice from a squeezed whole lemon into a blender and blend. Afterwards, keep it in your fridge for 20 minutes before drinking. Delicious, and in my experience no nausea. The lemon tek will make it stronger, so shoot for 2.5-3g on your next dose, it will be as strong as 4g regular, if not more. -

You got this man! Cannabis and psychedelics are also a trigger for me too. So I'm taking a complete break from these things until my 90 days are over. It would be wise for you to do this same.

@Ampresus That's amazing you're starting this stuff at such a young age. This video is extremely important in order to organize and retain all the self-development info: Also, Leo's LP course is NOT a waste of time or money. You definitely want to do it before you finish high school, perhaps in a couple years. Plan to watch ALL of Leo's videos over the next year or so, and take careful notes. You will grow so much it won't even be funny. Treat it like another class, but much more fun and helpful. You will be in the top 0.00001% of kids your age, no doubt. This won't take too much time and effort, just an hour or two a day. It's also important to not over-do this work at your age. An hour or 2 a day AT THE MOST, the rest should be socializing, playing, whatever. Good luck!

Leo said he HAS been working on it for years already. I bet it comes out within 3-4 years at most, and I'll be looking forward to it.

@zambize my initial reaction: There's no playing shit like that off. You kind of have to laugh about it, and accept it. Syncs of this magnitude have become normal for me. I'd say repeat insane syncs were key in my awakening to the reality we are in, then they settle down eventually a little bit. But it's just a way of life now.

Liquid mushrooms are that good, huh? I was wondering if they were worth it for the smoother trip and lowered nausea, perhaps I should try them sometime...

You can just eat them... You can also do something much better. There is a technique known as Lemon Tek. The absolute best method of ingestion is to make a fruit smoothie by putting fruit, cold spring water, your mushrooms, and the juice from a squeezed whole lemon into a blender and blend it. Let that sit in your fridge for 20 minutes. Then drink. The lemon potentiates your mushrooms and allows for a smoother and stronger trip. The smoothie makes the ingestion palatable and enjoyable. It's so good. I would say 1g is really low, you won't feel much. 1.5-2g would be a much better starting dose, but still very manageable. Good luck! And remember, set and setting are everything. Make it as comfortable and stress-free as possible. -

@Smika Yes, this is normal. You are OK. Another great YouTuber to check out at this stage in your journey is Infinite Waters. Perhaps he can provide some clarity and peace of mind in understanding this type of phenomena. You ARE awakening! And it gets much better.

@Emerald that's crazy! I've heard about things like this before. Call it what you will, divine intervention, premonition... something happened here that was really special, and possibly saved you and your friend serious bodily injuries or death. There are forces at play way beyond what we're able to currently perceive.

@zambize Thanks for sharing! I've had dozens that are completely unexplainable and out of this world. When you start metaphysically questioning reality, it will start tearing apart at the seams, ultimately revealing that everything is one and connected, therefore, synchronicity. It becomes a way of life. One sync that comes to mind happened last year. I was watching my favorite show, Avatar the Last Airbender, for the second time through. It is 24 hours of content, 61 episodes long. This amazing show was recommended to me by my best friend, and I was telling him over text that I loved it so much that I was watching it a second time! I didn't tell him where I was at in the journey, not what episode, not describing a thing on screen, just simply that I was enjoying a second playthrough. So he sends me a GIF of this really funny part that he thought would crack me up, and I shit you not, when I pulled out my phone to play the GIF, it perfectly synced up to what I was watching on TV. Exact match. Couldn't have been off by more than half a second. Wrap your head around that one, my friend

Welcome to the desert of the real... -
@Leonid Keep it up man! It will get really difficult yet, but stay strong. You're not going to be "over the hump" so to speak until a month or two.

@Xin no vision. Work to cultivate a vision and purpose for your life, and it will all fall into place.

Now, I know what you must be thinking, "Why is a children's TV show (that aired on Nickelodeon no less) being recommended on this self-help forum? How could this possibly be appropriate? This guy must be crazy!" I know I have a tough sell, but please hear me out. Believe it or not, this wonderful show may be one of the most important tools for introducing children to nonduality teachings, Eastern culture and religions, respecting all life, spiritual transcendence, and the hero's journey. Not only can this be a wonderful teaching tool and bonding experience for families, but it's really a show for ALL ages. I saw it for the first time in my early 20's and it transformed my life. I've heard of people in their 50's and 60's and even older being moved to tears. I fully believe that the world would be a better place if more people watched this show. It's really the only show that I feel wholly appropriate to share with Actualized.org. So what is Avatar the Last Airbender? It's a 3-season, fully self-contained epic fantasy TV show that aired from 2005-2008. I don't want to spoil the plot, so I'll just say some interesting tidbits... The creators borrowed inspiration from ancient Chinese, Imperial Japanese, Indian, and even Native American culture. They also hired a real-life martial artist, Sifu Kisu, to choreograph and act out the fights, making for the most stunningly accurate and fluid animated fights you'll ever see. What's more, each of the 4 nations in this fantasy world (each able to "bend" one of the 4 elements) have their own fighting style that reflects the nature of their respective element. It's really quite remarkable. Balance is a key theme of the show. While the animation and fights are gorgeously produced, what makes this show so endearing are the characters and how they bond and grow. What do you think of when you think of the qualities of children's cartoon characters? Probably unbelievable characters, dumbed-down dialogue, lazy writing, inconsistencies, and various other silly actions. Does Avatar have silliness? Oh yeah, plenty of it! But the quirky and often witty and down-to-earth humor can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The rest of it? Hell no. Except for the first few episodes (where the creative team were trying to find their footing), the dialogue, writing, and general themes are EXCELLENT and mature. Pretty quickly, Avatar transcends everything you thought a kid's show could be. So all in all, I can't recommend Avatar the Last Airbender enough, especially to families that would like to have discussions about the topics of actualized.org. But no matter where you are at in your journey, if you haven't seen Avatar, please do. It is SO RARE to find a show in our popular culture that transcends all the boundaries. To teach the importance of friendship and how it can transcend lifetimes. To give an in-depth look at the horrors of war (that's family friendly!). To teach one to respect all life and consider multiple perspectives. To teach one of the inherent duality of our universe (Daoism and the Taijitu symbol are explained), and also of the true underlying nonduality of everything ("The greatest illusion of all is the illusion of separation."). Childbirth. Loss of loved ones. Meditation. The path of Liberation. It's all here, and presented in a way that a child could understand (idk, probably age 6-10), but also in a way that can touch even the oldest and most evolved soul. Here I'll link to a 10-minute video of the episode where the main character Aang meets a Guru in order to open his Chakras. Please note that this is a YouTube video edited to not break any copyright laws and meant for educational purposes only. This will you give you a taste of what to expect! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StrbppmsZJw Here is a link to the just-released complete series in Blu-Ray. It's only $35 for the 24-hour long show and tons of bonus content. https://www.amazon.com/Avatar-Last-Airbender-Complete-Blu-ray/dp/B07BC5STNG/ref=tmm_blu_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= I would love nothing more than for Leo to notice this post, watch the show, and shoot a video on it. Why? Because this whole community needs to know about Avatar! Our society is at a difficult point (a crossroads of destiny, if you will), of trying to evolve from stage Blue/Orange to Green. What can help make that shift? How do we teach our children about these deep and often misunderstood topics? I feel that this is quite a challenge for many of us... And I'm here to tell you that this medium of a TV show could be the perfect tool for doing just that! In every sense of the word, this remarkable work of animation is timeless.

TheAvatarState replied to Paul92's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Paul92 this is fantastic news my friend! No, really. This means you're questioning everything and you're on the path. What you're going through is pretty common; I went through that too and I feel your pain. You're close to flipping all these realizations on their heads (with the proper context), and about to burst into the most wonderful and liberating experience of your life. Hopefully I can try to explain this in a way that makes sense to you now... You're correct that this is potentially dangerous knowledge, because if interpreted from the ego, with your ego still identifying with feelings and emotions and meaning (like you're doing now), then yeah, this shit leads down a dark spiral of Nihilism. You're living proof of that. This is normal, don't be afraid. But try to notice something. Why are you afraid? Why does this feel like the end of the world? Why would you possibly want to commit suicide after reading The Power of Now? Really think about this. When you're in the present moment, do you die? You might be inclined to say yes, but be careful here. WHICH part of you dies? Please don't conceptualize this, you'll have to go into your direct experience. When you've identified the part of you that dies when living through present awareness (because YOU certainly don't), then ask yourself an important question. Is it right that I die when I'm present? When I'm being? Isn't that the opposite of what it should be? You've been identifying with a toxic illusion your whole life. You still do. That illusion is not you. This illusion is precisely illuminated as an illusion by the fact it ceases to exist in the light of being. Try to understand the gravity of this. You're insisting on answering to an illusory being whose sole purpose is to trap you in psychological time to control you. Now all of this should start making sense. One of the tricks your ego uses to control you is to make you believe in absolute meaning. When that gets stripped away, your ego will rightfully feel like it's dying, and will go into overdrive to make excuses and rationalize. Understand that ALL meaning ever was, was a conceptualizion of your own mind. It never existed out there. Nothing has "changed" with this new knowledge, you're only awakening to what has always been the case. Look back on all the times you used your sense of meaning in your life. If you are truly honest with yourself, you'll start to see that it was used as an enslavement tool more often than not. Love existed prior to meaning, and never required such a thing. You've never required meaning to be happy. On the other hand, you required a lot of artificial meaning to get stressed out and anxious. Another trick your mind plays on you is the "logical rationalization" that if none of this is "real" then the only thing to do is to stop doing anything. Classic! But think about this: picture someone just becoming lucid in a dream... Why is everyone's first instinct to fly, along with a whole slew of crazy things? If none of it "mattered" then why doesn't everyone who lucid dreams immediately frown and wake up, saying, "oof glad that's over, that could have been a huge waste?" What is "real?" How do you define "real?" Why would you get so protective of this notion of real, like your very life depended on it? Oh yes, because the existence of your parasitic, illusory self hinges on you believing that's the real you! Your direct experience, your consciousness, your love, your happiness, your purpose, and your friends and family do not hinge on the notion of real. The only thing that's threatened by it is the thing that created the illusion of real in the first place. Be aware of whose life is really on the line here. -
