  1. Yeah, hopefully they do do something with those greedy manipulators. Either they do something about them, or stop normal people from interfering their manipulation. Either way is good publicity on the subject
  2. To me, I can't even access the subreddit. It's like it never existed at all. Apparently their discord servers has also disappeared. Praise censorship!
  3. The most confusing thing to me is the internal struggles of LGBTQ+ community. Like people, we are supposed to understand each other so why are you questioning each others personalities or sexual preferences??? This is the entire reason why I included "Biphobes dont bother" in the opening post. I was actually afraid that there would be people questioning bisexuality in this thread, luckily there hasn't been any.
  4. Like I said, IMO USA should find a way to encourage massive businesses to raise the bar for low- and mid-skilled workers, since they can. Im not an expert on the subject, but where I live the same was done through decades of strikes and unions (Then again, USA is not very fond of unions).
  5. @Consept In 2005 Amazon employed mere 12 000 people. In 2020, they employ 1.2 million people. If they had average salary (International, but still my guess is very humble) of 1500 US dollars per month, they are earning 1.8 billion dollars every month. Thats a lot of money going directly to housing, clothes, whatever else and its possible only because of one man and a dream. This would not be possible if Jeff Bezos did not invest back into Amazon. Bezos is not rich because he kept pumping money out of his company, he is rich because he keeps it in there. I dont disagree with taxing the rich more. I also believe that Amazon employees should be given better salary and benefits, just because it is possible. But to me its idiotic that we keep blaming super rich people for doing successful investments and making more money. What we should do is to build a system that benefits from the super rich, tax them more. And like you said, most importantly we need to require their companies to raise the bar of how the employees are treated and paid on different industries. When we blame the super rich, we are avoiding the core issue which is the companies themselves, not whoever owns them.
  6. I fail to see the problem with wealth inequality when we speak of the superwealthy. In the end they want to invest their money so the money ends up building companies, building complexes etc. I dont see a big difference between a superwealthy man making investments versus a government making investments (Except the wealthy man is likely going to be more successful). In the end, whatever the super rich makes from the public comes around and back to the public. Also, I fail to see how taking money from super rich people is any different from printing money willy nilly. In fact, I only see this kind of thinking as hinderance against the super rich investing in their companies to say, researching how SpaceX could build inexpensive self-landing boosters. I cant see how anyone would invest in this kind of experiment if it wasn't for Elon Musk being super rich and having a dream. There is no short term gains in that kind of investment that capitalism thrives on. The only place where I can find wealth inequality doing bad is in the 0-50% against 50-95% bracket. There you can find the true way western societies and capitalism shits on the poor, but that is a whole different discussion, as this one is about the super rich.
  7. This is a good tip! I never really thought about this. I mean I did know what is homo and hetero romantic before but I really didn't pay attention to the fact that there can be many different types of things that attract you such as aesthetical attraction. I just thought it as "well, you can be attracted to boys or girls or trans etc". But I now see how shallow that kind of thinking is. Thanks for the tip, I'm definitely going to look up types of attraction
  8. Haha, I guess you are right in a sense. I wouldn't mind sucking a big pristine glistering dick, so I must be bi Maybe like... 15? 11 of them with the guy I dated for 2 months Yeah Im still bisexual, but like you said I have really specific taste. Im hetero-romantic, but if every star is aligned and some really cute boy wants to have sex with me whats the harm? However, I feel like that such a boy only exists in porn, in fantasy. It's not likely enough that I would actively seek it or have my hopes up. I totally agree with the idea of aesthetic attraction. I definitely love a well groomed male body. Ottermode is the best!
  9. Yeah, I'd say that 99% of civilian guns are owned by people who hone their skill in reserve, sports and hunting. Its incredebly hard to get a gun, and you must have proof that you use the gun for the intended purpose or it will be taken away. Handguns are almost impossible to get nowadays, basically requires proof of practice for over 2 years. Its a big difference when comparing to what you usually see on USA gun range videos on Youtube. Also, Finnish. Not "Finish"
  10. Finland has 56 guns per 100 people, third highest per capita in the world Difference to USA is that when people are told to put their hands up, they follow the order most of the time. EDIT: Oh, and you dont have to turn to crime to stay alive if you are jobless.
  11. https://apnews.com/article/police-paris-police-brutality-france-emmanuel-macron-27f4206b9716691e4ba4172e9b6252ac France recently passed a law, which made it illegal for someone to publish a video of on-duty police officers "with intent of harm" Of course, anyone can see that this kind of joker card law is going to be used against innocent people. You can make any excuse for why any video is harming a person featured in it. Whats your opinion? Would this kind of law allow police brutality to go unpunished? Why would an honest police officer need to be protected from evaluation of their performance on duty?
  12. The first step towards superhumans with AI and infinite information always in their grasp. In my vision, the children in elementary school wont be learning math in 30-50 years. Instead they are building AI:s that work in perfect synchrony with their brains, and proceed to make faster and more accurate calculations on say, building strenght than our engineers with their computers do today. Imagine not having to do learn math because you already have it. On other hand, internet has robbed us of freedom to time. We are pressurised to be on social platforms 24/7. Didnt answer someone in 15 minutes? You inconsiderable asshole! In the past, you had to leave your home and look for attention. Now attention comes to you.
  13. Whats wrong with VR, as in Virtual Reality? If I were you, I'd be more worried about Augmented Reality. When AR glasses become popular, every human being wearing them becomes another pair of eyes for the big bro scanning faces of people. Possibly even videofeed. This will happen, unless they physically separate the cameras and LIDAR sensors from the internet, which they wont because even the fucking car brakes are connected to the internet nowadays. EDIT: My dumbass just answered to over a year old topic.
  14. Lmao You are a man of culture! I dont think cultural artefacts are for anyone to sell. They are significant for a specific culture, and just because someone has high position in that culture doesn't mean they can sell their artefacts and reap short term monetary gains. Artefacts should be returned to their original owners, if that is requested and the owner is capable of keeping them safe.
  15. I think people have a problem with the idea, that having CCTV all around us implies that we are dishonest people. Its obviously not the point. Its going to be interesting when AR glasses start to become mainstream, and everyone has a pair. They are definitely going to have built-in cameras too, so in the future it wont be so obvious if someone is recording you
  16. I actually have a problem with these kind of videos, that are conveniently cut to start at a specific moment so that it only shows one side. I dont agree with tazing someone physically weaker than you, but still it would be good to know how the situation escalated, and have that written/shown in the video itself.
  17. My thoughts exactly. Hollywood has done good work on making people think that army personnel do whatever someone with a higher rank tells them to do.
  18. Why would it be any more than a civil war? USA army cant be so stupid that they'd invade a country just because the president flipped his dick around and demanded so on the end of his term. Unless they are ready to betray their country and their new, democraticly elected president. Please tell me they wouldnt...
  19. I never really cared about zodiac signs, but after checking out mine: https://blog.prepscholar.com/taurus-traits-personality I can say its, about 99% correct. Waddya know.
  20. My perception is that 1. You are most likely not debating with a person who has any power to do anything. People in power tell you how to do shit, they dont argue. 2. Even if you are debating someone with power, say a powerful politician or the president, you'll get defensive and start looking up anything to back your argument if you start losing, hence not achieving growth nor giving anyone a new perspective IMO its better to strike good conversation than to debate, at least on internet. If someone tries to agitate you, just don't answer.
  21. Lmao. Reminds when my friends were adamant they could make money betting on sports. Fucking hell, they'd be the kings of the world if they could.
  22. I was wondering about adding more fruits and vegetables into my diet, and then I thought: "Why not just replace rice, pasta, potatoes, bread etc. with vegetables and fruits". Im of course speaking of unprocessed fruits, so only raw fruits and vegetables and no juice. There is so much more nutrients in fruits and vegetables when you compare them to side dish carbs like rice, pasta, potatoes and bread. Fruits and vegetables also have lower glycemic index, meaning the carbs are absorbed slower, meaning that your blood sugar level is more stable when you eat an apple compared to white rice. Apples, tomatoes, bananas etc. are also much more palatable eaten alone compared to side dish carbs. Its easier to eat the amount of apples you feel like after eating main dish, like a steak, while eating plain rice that has been in the fridge for 3 hours tastes bland. So you tend to eat all of the rice with your main meal to make the rice palatable. Compare it to a banana, would you enjoy a fresh banana right now? I would. The only negative I can think of is that fruits contain high levels of sugar, 40-55% of it being fructose sugar. Does anyone know if this would be a deal breaker, or should I focus on finding fruits and veggies with as low fructose levels as possible? Whats your opinion on the idea overall?
  23. @Michael569 Hey, thanks for the answer! I dont really fear carbs per se. I was just wondering, do we really need carb sources like rice and potatoes. Everywhere you hear about empty calories while everyone touts how much more nutrients an apple has compared to say, rice. I actually only use whole grain rice atm, just tastes the best in my opinion Yeah, its probably best to just eat less rice, say 50% less carbs from rice and to replace those carbs with apples, bananas, broccoli etc. Balancing the habits instead of going overboard with the opposite.
  24. If it helps, Fortnite is really mild on violence. Its kind of like the minecraft of shooters. From someone who begun playing violent videogames from the age of ~9 or 10, I'd argue that a child sees the battle royale aspect to simply be a game. In Fortnite, your task is to be the top 1 out of 100 players. I doubt kids see that as "Im going to butcher everyone who breathes", but as a challenge, to be the number 1 out of 100.
  25. @Preety_India @Shin I see. I wasn't aware of this option on the forum.
