It's contradictory. Self-help in essence is training. Kobe Bryant for example had to develop shooting skills, interpersonal skills, money skills. Interpersonal skills are indeed self-help. Go to Barnes and Noble and there are plenty of books on social engineering, etc. As for money, it's self-help too. Again, at the book store, there are many self-help books to master your financial life. I'm a logical person myself, so I pretty much agree with Tai's ideology. People want to be actors, singers, dancers, directors etc but don't put in any training or work. They complain it's "too hard". People want to be like Leo but dont put in any training etc. im not here to advocate/support Tai but he's the main reason why im on a path of a life of mastery. His stuff doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me. Humbleness > Arrogance.

"You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." - Jim Rohn You need to change your lifestyle...

I'm down lol jk but yeah that's good to hear. It makes me happy that your son has both parents in his life.

People love sex. Simple. Nothing more nothing less.

What do you mean by 50% of the time? like do you see your son 3.5 days of the week? You have to adapt and be strong. Your son needs to be with his dad too. He needs to learn and grow with him. Instead of seeing this as a sad thing, look at this in another perspective. Now you have free time to do whatever you want!

You lack confidence. You have tremendous limiting beliefs. I suggest focusing on mastering empowering beliefes. Search the subject and make it your mission to change your life from doubt to courage. We're noobs at one point in our life. You have to keep practicing and improving. Leo was a noob to self-development. But he got better and improved. just like in call of duty, at first you're not good at the game but eventually you improve and get better. Take care friend.

I disagree. Our brains are very powerful. We've built civilizations, cultivated agriculture, used our imaginations to create amazing things (airplanes, cars, phones, etc. i disagree with "you don't exist" as well. That sounds like some wacky stuff. I don't intend to offend anyone's beliefs. To the OP, learn about the subjects of health, wealth, love, and happiness. But take extreme action and apply your knowledge. Master these subjects and you will be extraordinary; not mediocre/average.

Today me and my girlfriend broke up. We had a lot of disagreements and fought everyday. She was dominating, controlling, and manipulating. She cheated plenty of times and I'm the sucker to always take her back. If anyone has any tips on how to move on and forget about someone, please don't be afraid to talk to me. Thank you.

@Truth @Van thank you guys. That's a deep analogy (plane crash). I can't allow myself go back to that. I agree with life is too short to live in the past. I'm 24 and getting older. I can't live my life anymore helping her selfish agenda. I'm so disappointed at myself tho for wasting all these years. I gave up college for that b**tch

You're not truly passionate if you feel like "you're wasting hours." You wanna fall in love with the grind? Then you need to have a burning desire! Thomas Edison was "LOVING THE GRIND" to create the light bulb. He failed 1000 times just to get it right. Now that's "loving the grind." To love the grind, you want to have it bad. The Wright Brothers loved the grind and never felt like they wasted hours when creating the airplane. Drake is loving the grind about his music and doesn't stop recording. He practically lives in the studio. Hope this helps.

You should stay. You looked at this in a different perspective. I admire your honesty though. Visit that linked sub-forum and hang for awhile.

You thought "what happened to me?" You were focused on other stuff instead of focusing on real business. Better late then never but you have to take action NOW! In the next 5-10 years, work endlessly on your purpose (chef) and don't give up. If not, you'll be 50 or so regretting what you did with your life, living passively.

If you're not a politician, forget about politics. It's all chimpery bullshit. You can still vote yeah but stop wasting your energy and time watching mindless tv about front runners like trump etc. Focus on developing yourself. It's going to be great for you later in life.

No, never. Confidence is like driving a car. Drivers are confident in their ability to drive safely, effectively, fearless. If a driver doesn't feel confident, he/she can make mistakes on the road, feel fearful to merge onto highways, etc. they're doubtful of their abilities. Sounds like you're not confident in your abilities to stay confident. Stop letting your emotions get the best of you...

Too subjective. Ego is a factor.

I stopped watching TV 2 years ago. You have to make a good habit of doing something productive. I replaced TV with YouTube (self-development videos). TV is brainwashing. Commercials, soap operas block your potential and vision to live a fulfilled life. I don't watch the news either, it's often negative with sob stories etc.

Go on meetup.com. There you can find like minded people when events are available. Seminars congruent with your self-development goals help, too.

If you're doubting yourself with words like "should", "first thing", you don't want it bad enough. Secret to tangible success is desire. But it's good that you're asking to seek answers. Read books, ask your teachers about business programs, etc. keep searching and want it bad enough. For example, when I was a kid, I wanted a game boy advance so bad. I did everything possible to get it: (shovel snow, sell candy, etc) work for it and put in a Drake work ethic. Good luck.

Well there's a problem... Some people never learn about saving money and stay broke their whole lives. Especially here in NYC, it's sad people spend their income tax checks in an hour on new Jordan's. Its important we save but people don't care about 10 years from now, etc. Some books I can suggest (anyone reading this): Rich Dad Poor Dad From Flipping Burgers to Flipping Millions Psych Yourself Rich Accountant textbooks (used ones from Amazon, most recent editions of course) Financial Literacy For Dummies

Stick to engineering. The opprotunities are abundant. I'm not saying you're bad at music or that your not talented but music is a very competitive industry. You're competing with Elton John, Taylor swift, other music producers etc. they have so many years.

No but I hear successful people do and it's effective. I'm gonna go to Walmart and buy one.

Fantastic answer. You're an inspiration! That was beautiful.

Fantastic advice. Thank you. I agree about how bad enough you want it. Me personally, when I want something, I don't stop, no matter how big the obstacle. I track my spending too, with the mint app. I also met the senior VP of Bank of America. He suggested I visit one of his sites (bettermoneyhabits). It's an excellent I use to learn about budgeting, etc. I live in NYC and there's always free workshops at the public library. I attend those to gain knowledge. Lately though, I've been distracted by instant gratifications (games, going out, etc). I'm back on track however and I'm saving 50% of my weekly check. I went back in with my mom to save even more money. I don't spend money on frivolous things. I affirm myself not to. I actually pack lunch in a brown bag. But yeah, excellent advice! I'm going to SS your post and work towards mastering these things you pointed out. My next goal is to become (I already believe I am one) a life coach. Doing my research.
