I’ve been contemplating what essentially charisma, pickup, and game actually are. Why do they work? Why does a woman’s brain respond to certain behaviors and dispositions but not others? Why do women even care about personality, what does personality have to do with genetics and reproduction? The conclusion I came to was that a woman needs some way to calculate a man’s social standing in the tribe. This capacity probably developed before verbal language, so it was more about emotions and vibes. Why would a prehistoric man have low confidence or introversion? Probably because he is low status, he is weaker than the other men, he fears for his safety. He acts this way to protect himself so he isn’t killed or exiled. These behaviors convey to the woman that this man is not valuable to her survival, his own survival is uncertain. That could be bad for offspring so she ignores him, not that differently from how mares completely ignore all other males except the stallion in horses. A man in high social standing is extroverted, confident, playful, because he is in good standing with the tribe, life is good, he has allies, resources, maybe even other women. These very explicit behaviors convey successful survival, and immediately trigger attraction. Survival is absolutely guaranteed in modern societies, but this ancient mechanism is still in play. Women’s psychology is still analyzing men’s standing in the tribe, mostly ignoring them until one occasionally conveys behaviors associated with successful survival. With all this in mind, all game and charisma is deception in a sense. Pretty much all men guarantee survival and successful offspring these days, but her ancient psychology doesn’t know that. If you don’t have looks, taking advantage of this is your only option to trigger attraction

A wise monk was once giving a lecture on the nature of the universe — how stars form, how time flows, and how existence came to be. At the end of the talk, an old man approached him, looking skeptical. “Interesting theory,” the old man said, “but I believe the world rests on the back of a great scam.” The monk raised an eyebrow. “A scam?” “Yes,” the old man nodded confidently. “Everything you see — politics, money, relationships, even hope — it’s all built on a grand scam.” The monk smiled gently and asked, “But what holds up that scam?” The old man replied without hesitation: “Oh, that’s easy. It’s scams all the way down.”

I guess I’m just not around enough stage blue women. Hot takes on The View are usually the spiciest politics I hear from them.
-
I’ve also never met a female zealot or ideologue. Has there ever been a woman equivalent to the unabomber? A lot of men eat hardcore ideology for breakfast.
-
I notice women rarely give a shit about getting results, empty platitudes about success and veneers of self development seem more popular with them. Even something like a hobby, they aren’t as hardcore about it.

I knew women were less attuned to truth when conveniently my mother was the only person who thought I could be a model

@Princess Arabia I think maybe it was Owen Cooke who said it, but he said most men are just looking for 6/10 that’s nice to them, and that’s absolutely true in my experience. Now to impress some top tier man, yes their standards are higher, but that is a small fragment of men. A woman doesn’t need to be exceptional to impress most men.
-
@Princess Arabia Look, I am not just talking about dating, but I acknowledge your struggles. But men who do not ‘put in work’ end up on the street, no one wants to take care of a grown ass man. I think it’s harder for us, but I also think it should be that way. Like, if your struggles were actually equally as challenging as mine, that would make me feel really inadequate.
-
@Princess ArabiaI think fashion and beauty is pretty low effort, a woman can literally pay for this stuff. Masculinity can’t be bought in a salon. I got my ass kicked by the sky for over a year before my first solo flight as a pilot, the fear and adversity I overcame was unimaginable, but that growth can’t be developed any other way. Despite all that, I’m still a pretty mediocre petty man. A woman has to do far less to be considered a great woman, but I think this is the natural order of things.

Women do not need to become, they just need to be. Becoming a man is like forging a sword, it is a much more painful violent process. Men have always been held to a higher standard of conduct and character. Manson pretty much had a harem of women killing his enemies for him, I think he is a rare example of a male prize.
-
@Princess Arabia I guess the woman usually gets the better end of the deal. We have to put in like 1000% more effort to get even mediocre results. But what about Charles Manson? These girls ruined their lives for him
-
@Princess Arabia Why do so many main characters have more than one prize? Prize must not be all that to them

I tried for quite a long time but never closed, but I did get into a fight and thrown out of a party. I’d like to move to Vegas and try it again one day.

I don’t know, they both promote lifestyles of hedonism and weakness. They wouldn’t know strength if I hit them over the head with it. If your skin isn’t on the line, you ain’t strong. But your entitled to your opinion.
-
Idk, I’m not convinced Owen Cooke or Julian Blanc are exceptionally strong people. I think it’s about how the woman perceives strength, or how good you market yours to her which is what game is about. The strongest guys in America are in the Alaskan wilderness, and they get no girls.
-
Okay, that makes sense, closing is its own skill set. I wish I could afford to move to Vegas and practice pickup, but maybe it’s best I can’t because I would absolutely start a cult, I think I have a lot of red impulses

@Leo Gura That’s sort of why I titled this post the way I did. Imagine your old pickup buddies and Jocko Willink in a club doing game, I think the PUA’s would outperform him. Jocko is objectively the stronger man, but women’s psychology would be convinced your pua buddies are the stronger man. That is what I mean when I say game “fakes” strength, or exaggerates it to a woman’s mind. Women easily fall for the appearance or illusion of strength. But I’m not trying to argue pickup isn’t valid. It’s Kinda like how humans can trick mares into thinking they are the stallion of the herd, the mare can’t actually recognize the stallion objectively, it can only recognize behavior of it.

I was curious of the evolutionary reasons this would be the case. For whatever reason, strong emotions and playful feelings trigger reproductive drives in women, and I’d figured men of low genetic or social quality just aren’t capable of this, but good quality men are, or should be. Modernity is sort of collectively sabotaging modern men, inhibiting their ability to behave in ways that elicit strong emotions and arousal in women. And putting yourself out there with repulsive awkward qualities won’t attract any women, even in a pool of 100,000.

Are the spiral dynamic stages above blue even sustainable long term? Without serious cultural coercion, Civilization becomes people just chasing comfort, luxury, entertainment, and recreation. Children are a hard sell to modern people, you need a lot of ideology and conservative values to get people on board with this stuff with the cost of living these days. Rather than solve this problem, stage Orange is speed running AI to make large populations unnecessary, and stage Green social solutions don’t appeal to enough of the populace to be a viable strategy. Stage Blue was pretty successful for like 5000 years, why couldn’t it last 5000 more?
-
Well, my point was Blue can survive and reproduce even in harsher social environments, it is more stable and easier to reach than Green. I’m skeptical enough people could ever reach Green to solve Orange’s problems. A Blue conservative populace with Orange tech could last for centuries, it could endure climate catastrophe and gross income inequality. Great scientific advancements can still be undertaken by conservative civilizations.
-
I don’t think it would be at replacement level still. Super impoverished people in the third world have loads of kids, it’s a culture thing, not a financial thing. Higher education and wealth correlate with having less children actually.
-
Survival doesn’t care, the poorest countries have the largest families.
-
How the fuck is Orange solving these problems? Orange is making these problems. And when artificial general intelligence takes all the jobs, people will go down the spiral, not up. Blue will keep these people alive, Green does not manifest in chaotic hostile countries, and I think the whole world is leaning that way.

We are approaching a singularity. I can’t even imagine how different culture will be to seriously entertain this. Are you sure it won’t be some neofeudal corporate cyberpunk dystopia?
