  1. It's amazing when you develop the skill to uncover your own negative (and positive) projections onto others. Lol including me giving advice, maybe I should take my own advice more-so than I give it. Taking-and-giving mb need to be balanced. I'm just thinking aloud here no need to reply to this xD.
  2. @Don Wei You're needy, so are your friends. I suppose when you tell them of your successes maybe it triggers them as they might not have held themselves up when they wanted to achieve something. You trigger the shadow of your friends in other words. Just as they trigger your shadow when they don't strive for successes or you feel their victim mentality. You're not triggered by your friends per se, but what they make you see in yourself. You hate the the victim in yourself, even though you victimize yourself, so it becomes an unconscious part of you that you see only when it is triggered by outer circumstances. You're stuck in a circle of judgement and neediness. You project negativity into others because you feel negative. So do others. Solution is to become mindful of how your friends or whatever person trigger you, notice that it is not they that trigger you but you yourself triggering yourself. You can also do shadow work even though I don't know any specific ways for you to do so, I suppose being mindful of both negative and positive emotions within you. When you view others non-judgementally, not being triggered by their weaknesses (what you perceive as weaknesses), you becomne light, playful, and accepting of others. You don't take yourself overly seriously and people love to be around people like that. Mindfulness meditation to build the skill to 'note' whenever you become emotional or triggered. Accepting, letting your negativities be, not shutting them down or they will act in you unconsciously. Letting them go - they don't need to be there, you don't need to cling onto them. Love yourself and understand your misgivings, and love and understand why others behave the way they do. This video might apply to you.
  3. @Kross Most people overcomplicate this topic. You don't need lots of protein, 1g/kg is more than enough for most people, if you do sports, weightlifting etc then up to 2g/kg is good. If you weigh 60 kg then getting 60 g protein is ok. Technically you can get all of your protein from almonds, but I doubt you'd be able to eat 300 g of almonds in a day because they are quite calorific and satiating (almost 2 k calories and 60 g protein, which would be like 1g/kg or close to it im guessing). I mean I would eat almonds but not for the protein, for the fats and calories. I'd get the protein from beans, legumes, soy stuff, and grains. Beans, legumes, soy have a pretty nice essential amino acid content, grains are considered a bit less so. I'm still sticking with my guess that you could improve by just getting more calories in. Eating high calorie foods that most people avoid because other people tend to pack on weight too much. For you it seems the opposite. Also you don't eat almost no animal products so B12 supplementation is almost a must. Even if you eat a few eggs or a few cottage cheeses there and there then that is not enough. If you don't want to supplement B12 you can always make an extract of your own poop lol. B12 is one of the few supplements I would suggest. Most supplements are good for you if you're deficient but if you're not deficient then at best they are neutral and most likely have a negative effect. B12 is easy to suggest because you don't eat animal products almost at all and you're prob deficient, although you can get your blood levels measured at the doctor. Also eating more veggies an fruits never hurts (usually). In the end stick with the foods that you will enjoy eating every day, for the rest of your life. The best diet is the one you can stick with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yafCjUHbK8Q
  4. https://www.youtube.com/c/GojiManNutrition/videos I don't know, but maybe his videos might give you more clarity. He does seem to speak a lot about digestive issues as he has dealt with them aswell.
  5. Try to find something that makes sense. From what I understand you have trouble getting enough food in and keeping weight on. If that's the case then include more calorie dense foods. It might be that you're feeling shit because of a caloric deficit. It's the easiest answer I can come up with. Nuts, seeds, fatty foods might help as they have less volume and therefore more caloric density. Peanut-butter-banana, or apple with whole-wheat bread are super filling. Smoothies maybe? Throw in bananas, berries, whatever you want to, even green veggies. If it tastes nice then smoothies go down really easy. Another solution I come up with is to start exercising, even just running like 30 mins every day or every other day. They might boost your appetite and make you eat more than you lose with exercise. If the problem is that foods don't taste well then maybe commit to learning how to cook better. Start with 1 meal that you want to perfect for your taste buds. Or just dabble around at first and then find the best nutritous foods for you. A healthy diet is the one you can stick with, and the one you stick with is generally the one which tastes good and satisfies you.
  6. Had an acid trip with my friends that was meant to recreational but ended up with me having the most ineffable experience ever. Instantly knew that I found what I had been looking for my entire life, with the insight that I could literally become anything I wanted, like an omnicient feeling. It lasted for a few seconds until I drifted back into my ordinary super confused existence (i guess since I could become anything I wanted I decided to become confused again :)))) A few months later a friend of mine referred to a number of different yt self development channels and I was instantly hooked by Leo's content. I was completely mindblown how well he articulated enlightenment and other self help topics. Leo expressed things so well. So much to work on, wow... Now trying to figure out how to transition my confused and fragmented life into higher values and ultimately enlightenment, what I experienced in my first acid trip drives me this day, although I have so much to work on, defiency needs still control me and this is probably what needs the most work for me. Its really interesting to hear other people's paths. Incredible to have stumbled upon this gold mine.
  7. Is it hard to get modafinil when you're living in Europe? The last time I checked about this was that it was less accepted as a supplement and possibly regulated. Not sure.
  8. Another cool technique I learned from the book Charisma Myth was something called responsibility transfer. Basically you visualize lifting your negativitity whatever it is to whatever Greater Force you might conjure up, transferring the responsibility to that Greater Force, be it a deity, or just a the idea of the Universe, or everything else or everyone else around you. Or even imagine that the negativity you are struggling with is being felt by everyone in the world and that you are all carrying eachothers burders or something like that I have used it whenever I remember it and it works for me. I don't visualize very specifically but I feel the weight on my body and gently let go of that weight, radiating it everywhere. And I conceptually recontextualize my negativity as a petty problem not worth worrying about compared to all the good things in life. It's kind of like neutralizing your natural proclivity for perceiving negativity by emphasizing your connection to everything and everyone else. The main reason this technique was mentioned in the book is that it also puts you into a positive, charismatic state when dealing with people. If you're interested in a solid Stage Orange charisma book then Charisma Myth seemed very nice.
  9. Charisma Myth was pretty good. Lots of techniques and practical tips that are proven by science to work. In order to project charismatic behaviour its best if you're in a charismatic state of mind. And to get into those states it gives you techniques that you can make a habit out of. You have to apply these techniques ofc and its very easy if you talk to lots of people, you will notice a difference quite fast if you can apply it every day. Other than that it focuses a lot on charmisma in business, work, or formal situations, but really the techniques apply into every social situation one way or another.
  10. @SgtPepperWhy not instead look into healthy vegans, people who have made it work for decades and longer still? How can you be sure that you aren't biased unless you have looked not into what has worked from the other side of the argument, not just the negatives. Every diet can be done wrong with health consequences. Why not put your judgements at a hold until you learn more and understand why do people get into believing that its healthy?
  11. @Hello from Russia If you pursue enlightnement and think that using high-achieving mentality to build yourself up to effectively get into the practices and techniques then that is very nice imo. The problem I think is that further down the line if you have put in enough effort you will recognize the limits of this mentality and how it creates an identity of a high-achiever that you must now work on. Maybe though its better to first get into that mentality and then let it go when it doesn't work for you anymore. e.g. using self-pride and a sense of achievement for putting in like an hour of meditation for a year straight. But after that you slowly start to let that mentality go because being in a meditative state will become natural, maybe you have a breakthrough experience, and that will motivate you without the need for aggrandizing the work. I think Leo has said having a burning desire to pursue enlightenment is very important. Doesn't matter what your motivations are as long as you do the practices and can see long-term progress. Some people, as you have noticed, maybe aren't capable of motivating themselves because their needs are that powerful and they need to work on how to deal with suffering and the negative stuff first and use meditation techniques for that instead of enlightenment. Because its unimaginable yet to understand where this work can lead to. For me enlightenment work is no1 priority in my life whenever I review my motivations, but neuroses also get in the way sometimes so its a bit of both positive and negative reinforcement.
  12. https://scottjeffrey.com/core-values-list/ Maybe this can help figure your values out?
  13. The answering would require another mega-thread on its own I feel :D.
  14. I found some videos about soy if anybody wants to take a look
  15. It feels good overall now that I think about it. Things could get a lot better though, although a part of me feels like that is an illusion and nothing is really changing, I still have desires, agitations, things I like and don't like. Most of the times I'm confused as to how to reconcile these thoughts - let them be and let them go, only to return sometime later, or maybe act on them and ride them knowing they will lead me nowhere that is any different from where I am right now. It feels like there is nothing to do yet I should do something. Ok now I am confused again, lol... and laughing to myself :D:D:D
  16. The risk of serious symptoms grows bigger the weaker the immune system is. That means health complications like obesity and diabetes make it far more likely even for young people to get seriously ill from covid-19. Since obesity is common in the US even amongst young people I'd say its right for them to be even more serious about keeping themselves from getting infected and infecting others. Exercise, a healthy diet, and limiting stress can help a lot so keep youselves healthy before you get ill.
  17. @Shiva Sorry I'm not getting it :D. If we get more calories and use less land from plant agriculture then why is animal agriculture good? What metric do you use to say that it is good if it uses more land, and produces less calories? If the world is better without animal agriculture then it will disappear as more and more people become conscious of its inefficiency and ethics, although it is a slow process. Less demand for meat means less incentive for production of meat and gradually there are less animals bred until we can free them if their population has reached more-or-less naturally sustainable level. I don't think cows would reproduce incessantly if we didn't breed them for our purposes. Edit. lol I think I misunderstood the sentence ''No animal agriculture sounds good to me!'', I read, ''No, animal agriculture sounds good to me!''
  18. @Shiva Am I understanding correctly that you are drawing a contrast between animals bred and slaughtered in factories vs 'organically' rather than no animal agriculture vs just plant agriculture? I agree with you that organic meat isn't better from an economic and ecologic viewpoint, but what about animal agriculture vs no animal agriculture, could that be like even more sustainable (since a lot of the crops we grow are for animal feed)?
  19. My perspective: I've done some learning about animal product consumerism and veganism. As far as I understand its pretty much the best thing from an ethical, environmental, and public health view. imho a triple win. There are more reasons for not eating meat, dairy, eggs etc than just the ethical reason of not causing unnecessary suffering of animals. As far as health is concerned one needs to distinguish vegan diets and whole food plant based diets. The former might not be healthy if not adequately planned (e.g. vegan junkfood exists). Whole food plant based diets seem to be a very nice solution to the chronic diseases that a lot of people suffer through (prevents and cures heart disease, lower cancer rates, etc). I learner this by watching nutritionfacts.org and reading "How not to Die" book. If we are concerned about taking personal responsibility for mitigating the environmental damage that we cause then forgoing animal products and going vegan is one of the most effective ways to reduce our impact. Animal agriculture is very expensive to keep up compared to plant agriculture (calorie by calorie). Animals require food (grains, soy, etc) and lots of water, and space aswell. I think I learned from Earthling Ed that we have enough food to feed all humans, if we used to grains to feed ourselves rather than animals. He mentioned that we had enough for 11 or 10 billion people, if only we didnt breed more animals for consumption. So plant africulture is far more sustainable since we wont need to spend more resources. And well, from the ethical standpoint its a no-brainer: we don't have to consume animals, so its unwholesome to cause suffeirng unnecessarily. Unless for some reason the experience of how tasty meat is is more important than the suffering that the animal endures and the unnecessary amounts of resources that we put into producing meat or dairy. Anyways, I've found that I can't justify animal product industry, I think were better of as a global society without it. Making an effort towards gradually reducing animal industry seems worth it in the long run. I wish more people would be less dismissive and ignorant about just hof how harming the animal industry is. That being said, ofc since animal industry is part of our system, dismantling it isn't easy or painless (farmers want to keep jobs, people dont want to change diet habits, etc). Change comes gradually, and painfully if we resist too much from changing. So basically I cant really find a justification for consuming animal products, unless someone has niche health issues (gut microbiome cant handle plants, e.g. Jordan Peterson and his daughter) or some other reason that I have overlooked. p.s. All of this doesn't really matter, you know, Maya and shit. Also you are God.
  20. I think its a cue that your concentration abilities have improved a lot. The kriya yoga book most people use to learn kriya mentions this also. If you're concentration improves as you practice, a white light might appear that is a sign you have reached some kind of point where the mind creates a white dot for some reason. I personally haven't yet reached this state but I've only practiced kriya for a couple of months
  21. Do you meditate? If you don't then taking it up a practice can help process these kinds of difficult and confusing times. Even as simple as a Do Nothing technique can work wonders (did for me)
  22. Calcium, Iodine, B12, D3 and omega 3s are the nutrients most easy to neglect. Calcium in seeds and dark greens, or fortified almond milk Iodine in iodized salt or seaweed D3, B12, and omega 3 as supplements. Take D3 when the sun don't shine.
  23. Get your bloodwork checked. The most common nutrients that are deficient for not very well planned plant based diets I think were calcium, iodine (if you don't use seaweed like kombu or iodized salt), vitamin D,B12 (if you don't take supplements or eat your own shit (was a study about this,
  24. How not to Die and How not to Diet if you want to know the data from plant based diet advocates perspective. Basically it shows that whole plant based foods are king. Whole, unprocessed plant foods are the most dense in micronutritents by the amount of calories in them. Comparing different foods and what you are eating day-by-day, seeing what nutrients are abundant and which are less so can help you choose specific foods that give nutrients otherwise lacking. Can use https://cronometer.com/ to calculate nutrients.
