  1. tldr I find from my experience that retreats and trips have the same effect on long term growth, both result in a backlash that can be fought through to gain growth, it is just that trips hit a higher peak. If you are concerned with those peaks, you are correct you will not get to the same levels. If you are concerned with permanent enlightenment or higher consciousness, retreats and sober techniques will do you just as well.
  2. ^ I'm a total noob. Yea, I think Leo's ego backlash video is one of the most important things to keep in mind.
  3. (This story is about a friend of a friend, just using first person so it makes sense) cough This is my first trip since around 8 months ago. Tripping is what got me to actually be able to start and maintain a practice of meditation then(around 8 months ago), and after that I decided to focus on that for a while. I set the intentions of getting insight into Life purpose and my sadhana, and also answering the what am I question. I took 3 grams and used this recipe I felt way less nauseous than usual, and the come up was very fast. I spent some time thinking about life purpose, and money. I felt like I had a really deep understanding of how the economy works, in the sense of people exchange value for money, meaning I have to create value, it really clicked. Then I started doing self inquiry and for like two hours I was launched into this egoless state of mind. There were no thoughts about myself during it. I didn't know what the world was or what was going on, I just layed there taking it all in. I'm not sure if it was pleasant though, I really can't remember. Once I came back I realized I had been gone, and I was just thinking and saying what the hell, oh my god. After I came down I had a huge ego backlash. I sat around for a few hours just being mindful as waves of bad feelings went through my body. Then I went and watched random videos on youtube for 2 hours. Then I was like, nah bro, let's go back and have a mindful ego backlash, and I did that for a few hours then went to bed. I expected to wake up this morning still having an ego backlash, as this has happened before, but for some weird reason I feel normal this morning. I did yoga with little resistance, I don't feel drawn to unconscious stuff. I don't feel super motivated either though. I feel really drained of vigor, like I just ran a marathon yesterday and I need to chill out. I might do this again before summer is over since I won't have an opportunity during the school year. I should also mention that I've had nightmares about a traumatic event the past two or three nights, I think it was brought up by shamanic breathing on friday, and I bet tripping had a similar effect. I think I feel a little better about it. I usually have nightmares about it every few weeks, which is much better than the multiple times a week it used to be.
  4. lmao I couldn't get the motivation or focus to do shamanic breathing during a trip
  5. Leo has a trend of hitting the same topic from different angles, which can be helpful. For example his explanation of god videos were similar to a bunch of videos that explain conceptually the realizations you can attain. He also has a bunch of videos similar to the self-bias one, as he mentioned. It seems like there are so many more 'practical' topics he could cover, and when I listen to these videos I don't find them helpful. What do you guys think?
  6. Yes @Leo Gurawe really need that conscious suffering video that you keep alluding to.
  7. Well I thought the self bias video on the blog was really good. I guess some videos just don't give the same helpful vibe due to subjective experience.
  8. @Muhammad I had an experience yesterday similar to that except I didn't leave my body, but I did what you said and it felt like the suffering built up and then I broke through a wall and it was effortless for like 10 min
  9. And then you've got your sofia and your naropa Im pretty sure Sofia is undergrad and grad, naropa is for sure https://www.sofia.edu/ https://www.naropa.edu/
  10. I wonder if we will invent a new way of identifying people, such as through technology
  11. Making waste into currency would only serve the purpose of spreading it out. Money is going spaceless/digital in the future. And then with the idea of throwing it into space, to what extent would we do that? Until we are all standing on a little rock that used to be the earth? But in the more short term, we never know what type of things could be re purposed with better technology.
  12. I would go for it. There's no point in forcing something higher consciousness, work on getting survival in check first.
  13. If you have schizophrenia we are in no place to recommend this to you. It could be dangerous, possibly. You committed suicide 4 times, do you mean attempted? Congrats for looking into this work despite the described conditions. Much love <3
  14. This toots my horn. You commonly accuse people of projecting onto you and of having self bias. I know you know you could do the same thing. In this case your evidence spoke for itself and it's pretty clear zizzero is generally 'wrong', but why is that neccesary
  15. let us know if its worth watching haha
  16. This is such a good question. I think it depends on the circumstance. If for example Leo was running for president and had no chance I would still vote for example for Bernie, but maybe in a less important election I would vote for C if it would have a positive effect on their political career or work in other areas if they got a higher percentage of votes.
  17. Noone else. I've tried though bad idea
  18. I've never heard of a simple hypnosis having such a profound effect. that's wack. take care of yourself dude.
  19. Bugs are great for raising healthy chickens
  20. It's great to see Wilber talking about politics too. This is live right now^ He has a more critical view of green but its another sophisticated view of politics that uses developmental psychology. I think Leo would agree for the most part.
  21. How'd your ego backlash turn out?@EvilAngel
