I’m observing that I’m intrinsically motivated by international politics. I spend quite a bit of time looking at how people perceive the world in different countries. Part of me thinks that I should create a life purpose around international politics. However, at the same time, another part of me feels apprehensive about this calling. Politics is rife with blaming, attacking, selfishness, and other kinds of devilry. So, kind of like candy, sometimes I wish I wasn’t so interested in absorbing these viewpoints, and I worry that it brings me to a lower vibration. I wish I could find a healthy domain that I’m intrinsically drawn to. As. My life has progressed, though, it seems like this is an enduring fascination of mine. Not sure I’m expecting anything. Just visualizing this dilemma and trying to work through the best way forward. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Similar to Religion vs Science, it would be great to hear a discussion on how to get out of this duality.

@Leo Gura He's arguing with her, and it seems like he's offering a perspective to help these fearful people deal with resentment. It really doesn't seem that bad.

@Leo Gura I’ve been curious about this for a while also. In the Myers Briggs, for example, I score very high in prospecting and my wife scores very high in judging. Not surprisingly, she has a very clear idea of what she likes and doesn’t like, and she tries hard to avoid those things (I.e. dirty places, smokers, etc.). I generally like exploring and am not turned off by these kinds of things. if I understand you correctly, her comportment wouldn’t be classified as crusader type judgement, and therefor wouldn’t necessarily deter her growth. Is that correct?

Maybe what he is saying is that the friend is entrepreneurial. To be honest, I’m a little confused about the stages as well. I feel like I was indoctrinated into green, but am only just starting to embrace an orange mindset. Viewing blue as ted cruz or Islam, and orange as tai Lopez and Paris Hilton doesn’t particularly work for me. And I think most of my external behavior would be perceived as green, both now and when I was a child. I’m also confused because most of the personal development that I have pursued would probably be classified as yellow or even turquoise, but I feel very far from that.

The responses: Steven Pinker: Probably that the mind is completely determined by the physiological activity of the brain. So if there were apparent demonstrations of pre-cognition, of telepathy, of mind-over-mater, the soul surviving the death of the brain, I would look at the data twice. Lawrence Krause: My own existence. Because I have a personal reason to want to exist… I guess I have to say that my whole being is based on the fact that there is an objective reality. Everything I do in my life and my work is based on that. So the assumption that there is no objective reality is something that would be the hardest for me to give up. ————————————————— I think one of the things that Leo’s videos have helped me with is to dismantle the authority that individuals such as these have because of the universities that they work for and/or attended. To see the massive blind spots that these two gentlemen have was kind of put nails in the coffin for me, so I thought I would share this with everyone. P.S. I found these on his podcast Waking Up. The Lawrence Krause episode is #115, and he answers the question at around minute 52. I didn’t record the minute of the Pinker answer, but it’s at the end of the talk (which is on YouTube).

@Leo Gura Lol, Harris actually did answer his own question, and his response was better than the others. He said “Consciousness is here, and something seems to be happening”. I’m not sure what data he could possibly find to contradict that, but the answer is better than the other two. As far as what you think his answer would be, I’ve seen people press him with more mystical definitions of God (God is Consciousness, the Universe, etc.), and from what I’ve heard, he doesn’t disagree with them, but weasels out of it by telling the interlocutor that they shouldn’t use the word ‘God’, because 99% of individuals who use that word think they have a personal relationship with someone who gave them a holy book of rules to follow. So he tells them that their use of the label ‘God’ is disingenuous. It also seems to me like he is beyond his previous positions, but his audience is not. I heard him tell one interlocutor who was pressing him on his negativity toward Islam that he loves Rumi and the call to prayer, but he doesn’t think his audience would be interested in hearing him talk about the things he likes about these religious. I think he occasionally trots out the god bashing statements because they are apart of his ‘greatest hits’, so to speak. Anyway, I posted that not because of Harris but because of the other two, who are far more decorated than him but seem so stuck. They seem to me to be members of a priestly class who are awarded massive respect and recognition by their society, but are committing an error that is just as fundamental as the priestly class that attacked Galileo for claiming that the earth went around the sun.

I have a simple doubt that I can’t seem to get past. In Leo’s videos, I get that it seems so ridiculous for someone to identify with their hair or their hand. And I’m sure most people don’t identify with one single body part. If you use the same process to identify the true nature of a company, you would come to the same conclusion (Is the company the janitor? No, of course not. Is it the CEO? No, even he’s just a small part. Etc). So no part can be mistaken as the whole, but the the sum is greater than its parts. And it feels a little extreme to conclude that because no part is the whole, then the whole doesn’t exist. Any help?

@Leo Gura wouldn’t you say that Jesus, Osho, and even Mohammad created many enemies from a high level of consciousness?

I could only do 13 minutes. My chest started vibrating intensely. Part of it felt blissful, the other part felt nauseating. I experienced flash backs to childhood moments where I was bleeding a lot (I hadn’t thought about them in years). That’s about all I can say. Will try for 20 minutes soon.

Would reading Sadhguru’s Inner Engineering be an appropriate supplement to the Kriya book?
