Update 1, January 21, 2022 10.17 am So i took my medication (this is a good way of keeping a reminder). My mother has been rambling loudly for the past 1 hour and it's getting unbearable. She starts with some gossip that I don't wish to be a part of. This is what narcissists often do. They keep rambling on and on without having the slightest regard for the listener. That's how they demand your time. For example I could be rushing due to an emergency, but my mother will keep rambling even in that situation. Her need to "eat my time" is more important than my urgent call/work. #Notice narcissistic abuse patterns and deprogram yourself out of it and come back to sanity and normalcy. Remember narcissists will always break your boundaries no matter how much you convince them not to and no matter how much you tell them how important your boundaries are, they will go back to breaking them. Also keep a track on the outcome of things. And see what aligns and what doesn't align. Alignment is key. Does this align with who I am and what I want? Are you doing things that are more in alignment with what you want or are you spending your time doing things that your life is not aligned with? Nature of Emotions Track and management of time Nature of actions Measure the nature of outcome Seek alignment I really think the quickest way to raise yourself out of whatever pit you're in is to just align yourself with whatever you think is the most important thing to do and give yourself to it and surrender the resistance from a self that would rather masterbathe smoke weed and play the Sims. If you only wait around for a spark of inspiration while needlessly suffering a meaningless life you aren't on the right page, I don't think you can find your purpose through thought, it just comes to you. If you are deeply suffering you are not seeking purpose but relief, and when time comes to do the right thing or attach to relief you will attach to relief, so just take care of yourself first before you go doing anything. Get financially independant and fulfill your emotional needs. It will strangle you if you don't. The possibility to be entangeled by your emotional needs and egoic triggers like ambition will completely cloud your clarity to your purpose. But I guess I would just ask myself the question: What is wrong with world? And work from that point onwards. Those are just my thoughts from where I was at a year ago and now trying to find purpose and understanding, entering my dark night and feeling alive again. I just made a yt vid bout that if you wanna check it out. . https://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/76820-a-purpose-cannot-be-found/ https://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/76820-a-purpose-cannot-be-found/ Quote Important statements Emotions part 1 Emotions part 2 Emotions part 3 Emotions part 4

I feel like relaxing and grounding myself. I have come to a point of spiritual maturity where I have learned to let go of all the negativity in the world. If someone says hurtful unempathetic insensitive things about the world, then learn to let it go. Because you can't change people and their lack of empathy. Important statements

I would love to know Leo's take on Jordan's views about the pandemic response. I'm glad Jordan Peterson is not the President of America or not in government, or else we are fucked! I thought Trump was worse but....
-
What I got from his talk is this (and he said it in a very manipulative way, correct me If I'm wrong, just trying to break down his complicated views to simple — Lets do whatever we have to do and do what has always been good for us. Why bother about the few who are going to die anyway? Why lose anything for them? Our response to the pandemic has cost more lives in other ways than the pandemic itself because who really cares who dies, those that die are tragic but let's not drag this any further and protect the interests of those who are alive because these interests matter much more than a few deaths here and there. We shouldn't have thought about science here and but more about vested interests of people. That's how I summarized his entire take. He is going the hardcore way. Not sure if I agree with him. All I'll say is this — Jordan's views fit Jordan perfectly.

If anything gets awkward, don't show that awkwardness. Learn to play off awkwardness.

I saw my mom reach out to a basket and hurry to the kitchen. At least I felt good.. I woke up not feeling guilty. Without nightmares.

Because he is a pseudo intellectual. A true intellectual would have higher wisdom. -
Back then scientists used to be racists, not all though. They had expertise in their fields yet their social knowledge was limited. They also wanted to stick to social norms of that era. This is like stale news.

This is akin to saying that a judge is racist but he is great at his job of assessing cases. Do you see how contradictory that will sound? If the judge is racist, then his own bias might have impacted his judgment in many cases and his evaluation of people involved might have been heavily biased? It seems like a contradiction to me because a judge is supposed to be unbiased. Similarly an academic should know better what comes out of his mouth. His credibility is in question if he says ignorant things. -

Sorry I disagree with this. If a person cannot see their own blindspots then they are already a failed intellectual and academic. This is like saying a doctor is a good doctor but he doesn't understand chemistry. But understanding chemistry is a vital part of being a good doctor. Politics has similarities with philosophy. Philosophy has a connection with both psychology and academia.. If a person has huge blindspots with his political philosophy, I'm forced to question any of their academic and intellectual skills. Those two things can't reconcile. -
I finally want to relax. I threw up yesterday and I remember that

Before watching his political views, I used to watch his psychology lectures on YouTube. He had uploaded those. At first I felt that he was very insightful. But then it became rambling endless rambling and confusion and more confusion. It also felt like he was brainwashing me with his own brand of psychology, I began to feel uncomfortable because I didn't want to be brainwashed by his concepts so I had to stop watching his content. To each his own. Maybe some people find his psychology stuff insightful. I find it confusing and rambling. Like he is going in circles. Sorry but that's not my type. Psychology to me is someone trying to bring more clarity rather than confusion. I mean he is good at talk and uses that skill. -

I think your description of his personality is weird as well. His psychology is just rambling with some Jung stuff thrown in here and there. It's not that my definition of academia is weird, it's just that I hold academicians to a very high standard that Peterson doesn't reach. -

Based on what he says generally on YouTube, I hold him as neither an academic nor an intellectual. At best I'll regard him as an ignorant pseudo intellectual desperately trying to grasp at the straws. -

To me his extreme views are a sign that he lacks academic excellence. Having accolades doesn't make a person excellent in a field because those can be achieved by any means. What a person says gives more credence to a person's genuine potential. His views tell me that he is not an excellent academic because an excellent academic simply cannot hold such views and would not be a pseudo intellectual parading extremist views on YouTube. It's not the problem of disagreeing with his political philosophy. I simply don't buy that he is an academic. -

My biggest question is why are all Hindus generalized as "bad violent people" when extremists and extremism exists in almost every religion?
