  1. But Leo... So you are saying that just because women might feel bad because everywhere in video games, magazines etc there are hot women such depictions of women should be reduced. But should we act in such a manner, just to please young girls? Or my daughter if I had one? If I had a daughter, then I would let her be sad because for some reason she is not 10/10 as women are depicted in magazines. In fact, most people are not 10/10. It is something that they should come to terms with. And even if you , or Sarkisian wiped away all such depictions from art, would you think that would solve this problem? No, there will still be attractive women out there, be it from movies , like may be the hottest actresses also happen to be the most successful ones, and she will still feel jealous. She will see that the hottest girl of her class is getting the most attention. Again she will feel jealous. Should I as the father wipe out the hot girl of her class too? I don't think this problem of feeling inadequate is something that can be solved by wiping out things like art of beautiful women, advertisement, games, people , etc that can make you or my daughter self conscious. But rather by coming to terms with it. I know that there are guys with larger dicks then me, I know that some girls might want larger dicks , but still I am in terms with it. I I am not going to wipe out ads, I am not going to kill dudes who have larger dicks than me so I am jealous of them. Whether such ideas are promoted in ads or not, that does not change the situation, just because there are such ads doesn't mean other guys won't get laid, just because there are ads doesn't mean biology will change, girls will like whoever they will like and fall in love with whoever they want to fall in love. Ads cannot change biology of attraction. And if I feel sad because nature has given larger dicks to some guys and not to others, so be it. And same should be the attitude of women, daugthers etc, instead of doing things like- Saying obesity is okay. Promoting fat fashion models. Wiping out ads of beautiful women etc.
  2. I think attention itself is a byproduct of consciousness rather than a basic substratum of reality. Attention happens due to the presence of consciousness. So I think it is not attention which flows, but it is consciousness which flows because attention is not a 'thing' but consciousness is a 'thing' like water, a substratum and hence it can flow. Attention itself is not a 'thing' or a substratum of reality but what we call attention is the consequence of the 'thing' called consciousness. In a sense, consciousness both flows and is present everywhere. In the limited consciousness (river), when it flows it becomes attention, but in enlightenment, consciousness expands (ocean) and realizes its limitlessness. Limited consciousness = Attention Expanded consciousness = Awakening/ Enlightenment. The main question is whether the consciousness of a person is contracted or expanded. If contracted = Attention. If expanded= Awakening ( consciousness becoming conscious of itself)
  3. I think consciousness , at least when talking in a spiritual sense, is ever present, whether you are thinking thoughts, or focusing on an object, or are in a state of pure awareness. So in a sense , consciousness is associated with attention, because attention is present wherever consciousness flows. The difference between materialistic people and spiritual people is the direction of their flow of consciousness, in the former it flows outward (to appearance / maya, thus getting attached to it) , in the latter it flows inward, but it's the same consciousness. Whether you are a materialistic or spiritual, you are fundamentally the same thing. And you are right when you say that there seems to be no difference between anything when you are being conscious of the consciousness itself. That itself is the beginning of spirituality.
  4. I think it is important to spread Spiritual teachings. I say this because my spiritual journey started with a spirituality book which was just lying in my room. One day I decided to read it and so began my spiritual journey. Similarly , people in forums, facebook groups can also introduce ideas that are unknown but useful to people. So yes, I think it is important to spread these ideas and actively help people unless they don't want any.
  5. I am not optimistic about the world, we shouldn't be. All evidence points towards a gloomy future, death, destruction, earth becoming a lifeless desert. Life is not just precious, life is difficult. There are 10,000s of ways things can go wrong ( as a medical student, I can testify it in a medical/biological sense), and add in the environmental factors, social factors, death and destruction is inevitable. ( If I were to write the complete list of evidences that testify for a gloomy future then it would be toooooooooooo long). But this doesn't mean now you need to be sad. Even if a comet were to strike the earth, there is no reason for sadness. There is nothing wrong with destruction (and having extreme aversion and dread to it is what creates irrationality and delusion towards the reality of the case, like believing that your parents/childrens are alive although they are dead because you cannot bear the pain). Our job is to see what the case is, and then do what we can do, and accept our fate. But what we can't do is talk without solid base of evidence and logic and make decisions and conclusions on a whim.
  6. I would. One doesn't need enlightenment to live a rewarding life, but wisdom. When there is excess of wisdom, then that becomes enlightenment. Meditation helps develop wisdom. Also, it is a pleasurable activity that helps develop inner peace.
  7. Death in the sense of the 'self' might not exist, but I think bubbles of appearances do pop into and out of existence continually.
  8. Because everything starts from 0. 0 = +1 -1 0= beginning + ending since everything starts from 0, there must be a beginning and an ending.
  9. When Buddhists say " Once someone becomes a Buddha he will never be born" , I think they do mean that physically the Buddha will not be born. What you are right now as an unenlightened being is a state of consciousness which has confined itself to a narrow physical body. Enlightenment means the complete demolition of this state of consciousness. So I think, if you are really conscious, then I don't think you will be born since you are washed off all the karmic forces. But if you are unconscious, or you don't have a high developed consciousness, then yes, you will be reborn according your accumulated karma (which instead of viewing as something associated with morality, I like to view it as elastic potential force in a rubber band ). In medicine we have a concept called homeostasis, the tendency of the body to maintain it's internal environment, eg- may be for some reason your blood pressure changes, or your respiratory rate changes, then in that case homeostatic mechanisms come into play which maintains the natural state of the body. In the same way, your consciousness also tries to maintain its own being. You die and become infinite love for a while but again , like the law of inertia, it again descends into the state of bodily consciousness/identification = samsara.
  10. Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugge strides of progress made on - Study methods/ Absorptions methods - MBTI - Understanding of Rimbaud - Social interaction and it's importance
  11. - Stop getting bullied by fighting the shit out of them, complaining to authority, combination of both, there's no other way. - Gain self esteem, confidence, by being good at something, be it academics, game of chess, being a great poet or writer , be a great singer , dancer, whatever that will get you approval from people. - How will you pay your tuition fees? Well, if you can't then who told you to go to a university. Either you need to take loan, or don't study, but you will have to pay the money whether you have got it in your pocket or not. - An employer is someone who has got into the position of employing people, which means either they climbed up the ladder (as an employee) or they started the company. - No one , unless you have become a Buddha or have taken 5-meo DMT 100 times, can feel good all the time. That said, if you want to feel good, then do things that make you feel good. Example , things I do to feel good are- watch movies, read novels, learn and study things (learning makes me feel good automatically), talk with friends, cut off blood suckers and many more. - How do I accomplish ambitious goals? Work. You want to become a doctor? Work 10 hours a day. You want to be an engineer? Work 10 hours a day. You want to start something like actualized.org? Work 10 hours a day.. That said, I have to say that by now I have come to that stage of personal development where I know that reading such stuffs as I wrote has no value. What I wrote has 0 net value. It is not going to change you and you will be the same person you were and suffer like you were sufferinng, but you might feel good due to the clear, concise and unclouded answers I have written. Change comes from massive action.
  12. Example, let's say I am reading with deep focus, where I bring my attention back to my object of focus again and again, just like when meditating with breath. Or when drawing? Or walking? Or singing? Or cooking?
  13. Please give me tips on how to be a great public speaker as I will be giving a speech in a book releasing ceremony where 100 writers will be releasing theire book in a single day. ( It's weird, I am weird, my life is weird)
  14. @How to be wise @Adam MLOL so many people saying I am a beginner because I asked a simple basic question which only shows their judgemental nature and their desire to go one step above so that they can feel better , I have been practicing spirituality since I was 14 and now I am 21, I know the answer to the question as given by other enlightened people like Osho and Krishnamurti, I am also familiar with Gyana yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma yoga,Samkhya yoga, Walking meditation, Mindfulness, Pranayam, Asanas, Mudras, Mantra meditatation, Trataka (candle light meditation), Vipassana, Anapanasati, Soham meditation, Do nothing meditation, Leo's enlightenment exercising , neti neti method , Dynamic meditation and other Osho's meditations whose name I have forgotten but have came across in the past. I have read Osho's book 'Yoga the alpha and the omega' 5 years ago and I still remember he saying- Even if you are completely focused on your toe, that can become meditation. I have read over a dozen of Osho books, but nowdays due to my busy schedule I don't. In addition I have deeply studied - The Geeta, The Dhammapada, Read bits of Tripitaka, Read many articles on Hinduism and Buddhism wikipedia and non-wikipedia, Read a book on Christian mysticism, Read Kierkegaard's fear and trembling, Read Hegel's science of logic, Read Metaphysics of Heraclitus , Parmenidies, Descartes and Spinoza, Watched 100s of videos from Leo, Osho, Krishnamurti, Sadhguru, Have also studied the art of living by William Hart as taught by SN Goenka and this is not my complete resume. I just wanted to ask what people have got to say about this, and stimulate a discussion and collect different perspectives (as described by Leo in his vid the 65 rules of a good life). Also I believe in going back to the basics no matter how many years you have been practicing your disicpline, whether it is spirituality or medicine, or art. Great masters always focus on basic, you should notice that in any training session on martial arts. We should cut out this habit of judging someone as a 'beginner' or a lesser then you just because now you can feel better. This only shows a sign that you are egoic and less developed spiritually and have not learned anything. Earlier I said to a user that you have small ego, this means that I am not biased but I collect the signs that the users display and put them in the category that they belong and then look at the corressponding category. Just like when I see that you are having fever, with chills and rigor, with nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, lack of appetite and your ag-ab titre is more or your blood culture shows positive then I can suspect typhoid, or if you have fever and swelling the parotid gland area and you feel difficulty chewing and swallowing and your age is 5-10 then I can suspect you have Mumps which is caused by Paromyxovirus. This means that I should make my post such that I don't let people judge me in an inferior manner and I have to start with , "don't get me wrong I am not a beginner because ____", but my impression was that people are already developed enough to not make 'false inferior judgments' and feel better, but apparently I am wrong.
  15. So nice to know that I am not the only one who thinks the same about TruthAddict. I had an arguement with him a week ago may be, and he was acting like he knows stuff but all the time his ego was hurt and kept on saying I am blind, I am deluded on and on without any good reason but just because I said, 'Okay, good advice' to what he wrote and his ego got hurt so kept saying names to me, it's in my enlightened professionals post.
  16. I just wanted to know if you ( @Leo Gura) feel deep gratitude towards the entire existence which brought you this far, and gave you the opportunity to go through this extraordinary journey from the start of actualized.org to where you are right now . Do you feel very special with respect to the universe? How often do you cry because of the entire existence's love towards you and that you were meant to know the deepest secret of reality and share it with the entire world and change many people's lives in the process?
  17. I want to download a speed reading software like in zapreader.com, I am not able to find such softwares. Please help. Even if it can't be downloaded for free, you could help me by naming any such software which works like zapreader. I mean, the software I am looking for is simple af and I think any programmer could make one in their mom's basement. You just put in the text and the text is displayed word by word at a certain rate. That's it. There has to be such downloadable softwares out there. I tried downloading from softonic, but my laptop said it might be dangerous and discarded it. I even tried pirate bay, where I downloaded a software called The speeder , but when I opened the setup, it said NET framework should be downloaded and it also gave the link to it. I downloaded and tried again. It again says NET framework should be downloaded.
  18. Thanx for introducing me to this channel.
  19. I want to know- What makes one country have more jobs while other country have less jobs? What is the influence of a higher authority like a President , Minister for job creation? What are the factors behind increase and decrease in jobs? What is the relationship between technology and jobs? Relationship between Natural resources of a country and jobs? Relationship between the geography of a country like, land locked, peninsula, island, and jobs? Relationship between entrepreneurs and job creation, and how some people become entrepreneurs to begin with (that leads to job creation)? Any expert economists here??!!
  20. Great point. Spot on. Great insight. Thanx for your input. I appreciate it.
  21. Don't stop pursuing girls. Don't get discouraged just because a girl doesn't show great interest in you. Of course they won't unless they have less options. Work on your life, become a valuable person, and at the same time keep pursuing many girls.
  22. You want her very strongly, You don't want her to reject you/leave you, very strongly The first one fuels the second one. The second one results your 'fearful' behaviour which also signals attachment. She subconsciously senses your 'attachment' in your fear and thus she gets the need to reject you because no one wants to be bound by something (unless marriage). I am making this analysis because I don't think that fear itself equates to unattractiveness or rejection. Imagine a male supermodel asking a girl out and he is blushing and very shy. Wouldn't she find him attractive? She might think - Hahah he is so attracted to me, he can't even speak to me. In other words, fear doesn't necessarily equate to rejection) You need to see it like- You just want to make her life fun and wild, not be attached to her, and if she loses you then it is her loss, she has lost a great person who could make her life great. That kind of mindset. To do that you need to love life and living and that doesn't come about spontaneously. I am giving out my deepest secret methods here. For free.
  23. It’s not hard to believe that she descends from the race of Vikings. I can’t fathom how a 16 year old girl can have so much courage to stand up to the whole world and demand the need for climate change , going toe to toe against world leaders and the likes of Trump, who are only concerned about their own greed and power instead of welfare of the people. God doesn’t want the end of humanity too soon that is why sometimes sends people like her to prevent our extinction brought about by our own vices. No matter where we are , be it Sweden or US we need to hear her message and do what we can to fight climate change. Her speech made me feel this urgency like never before, we have only 1 planet, our beloved earth, and if we cannot do whatever we can to protect our mother earth then we don’t deserve to live in this beautiful planet
