  1. the act of seeing into one's own nature. It is a zen word.
  2. There were primitive hindus ideas like samadhi , association of cessation of the mind with oneness with the absolute from the very dawn of humanity, which probably has it's roots on self observation and noticing the fact that the mind is a sufffering generating machine. Buddha's methods are derived from these ideas. His most profound and unique contribution is Madhyamaka or the middle way. He also systematized many vague ideas into concrete well defined terms like anatta, samsara, dukkha and anicca. I will say he was more of an improviser/ systematizer/philosopher than a discoverer, but hands down the most enigmatic mystic to have ever graced the earth. His satori is the highest till date. Leo is trying to beat that.
  3. It's a funky philosophical question in my arrogant opinion. We can only speculate in these matters. Q- Why do people have different perspectives on what happens after death? I say- because spirituality is a subjective matter, not objective. The interpretations depend on the dominant culture at the time those interpretations were made. Q- What happens after death? I say- First ask what happens during life? Experiences. So What happens during death? Lack of experiences.
  4. hey Charlotte, you are a good looking woman from a 1st world country who probably has a super rich boyfriend so this means all your "Challenges" are actually "Illusions."
  5. Currently my problem is that I am sitting outside the classroom because I arrived late
  6. Know something about everything and everything about something.
  7. Having started on personal development and spirituality since I was 13, I will say that it is absolutely amazing to have done so at teenage years. First of all teenage years are formative, and it is these times that most people pick up bad habits like smoking drugs, and doing this can give you a competitive edge. And if you get into this early on and stay on it for a long time you really start to know yourself and find out what works for you and what doesn't. However there is 2 important things- while doing personal development you should still be in touch with the crowd because things will be very difficult in the future if you become someone very different from the crowd, so you should take care of both. And the most important thing that a teenage personal development student should consider is- commitment. lt should be life long. Remember this- if you are a teenage who is into personal development, then there is a good chance that you might take a very long break or completely stop with this path in the future. You might get into it for 2-3 years and then you might stop. Another thing- remember personal development is not the same thing as ou ward success. There will be many people out there who are better student then you, or any other kind of better performer or are rich. They might not have done any personal development. Don't confuse those 2 things.
  8. Yes you are on point! Even the idea of self deception for some people is different because their life is different so their consciousness is different so even if you tell them the idea of self deception their consciousness will interpret in the it in the wrong way and this in turn will make them deceive themselves even more because they are unaware of that they are interpreting in the wrong away which in turn is determined by their initial inclination of consciousness.
  9. You say- What i am trying to say is that some things sticks to our conciouness because we have an inclanation to those things and that can trick us. Yes, you have stumbled upon a profound idea about how beliefs are formed, and undergoes multiple confirmations as we go on through life. Yes, someone who experienced some events that planted in him the seeds of the idea of self deception, can go on later to embrace that idea of self deception. Even the idea of self deception is nested in a large network of ideas about spirituality which Leo had been putting out in his videos for a long time, and some one who accepted those videos is very prone to accept that video about self deception too. And your idea also explains why there are those who do not accept the idea of enlightenment and spirituality but only about science. It is because as you have said- they have had multiple instances of confirmations of their preformed beliefs. But here is something more interesting. Lets keep on going backwards and see where it ends. So someone who has a belief on self deception might have it because he has beliefs about spirituality. Now, why would someone have the beliefs about spirituality? Why would someone accept this idea , and others do not accept? And you have given the answer which is a slight inclination of the consciousness. Now, in THIS CASE, what is this slight inclination of consciousness? What determines this slight inclination? I will say level of awareness. What determines that? May be luck. My question to you is- so what? How is your idea important? (You weren't suggesting this, but still)Does it make the idea of spirituality less valid because those who accept the idea of spirituality are those who are slightly inclined to accept the idea of spirituality? No. Just examine this idea- those who can listen and enjoy music are those who are inclined to hear, their ears work. Those who do not hear music are not inclined to hear music so music doesn't exist for them. Does that mean music doesn't exist? Only bats can hear ultrasonic sounds, so does that mean it doesn't exist? People of all kinds of consciousness exist in this world. Sir Isaac Newton had an extraordinary kind of consciousness and he could see things that no one could see. When a chess grandmaster sees a board, he is not seeing the same things a layman sees. Likewise the spiritual dimension is also something which is more omnipresent for some people than others. From the very dawn of human history till now there have been billions of people who have been inclined to this dimension and have lived in this mode of consciousness, and it is likely this will go on forever. Why does this idea even exist? Why? The answer is because as a species this mode of consciousness is embedded in our gene pool in varying amount and in varying depth. Both Dawkins and Jesus Christ are from the same species , yet have profound differences in their consciousness. One gets it, the other doesn't. One is freed, the other is trapped. One knows God, one denies God. The difference is in consciousness. And it's not just about spirituality, but other ideas like some poems, some profound idea in mathematics, science or philosophy. No dog will ever grasp these ideas, and same is the case for vast majority of people. There are poems, passages, ideas which very few in human history will ever grasp, but that doesn't make them less valid.
  10. In my room, alone as I lie I start to ponder about you and I As two birds on a tree branch green Like two puppies, a beautiful scene Alas! I fear it's just a dream I hold my tears, and try to scream For I am brass, and you are gold I fear those two cannot mold I am a crow and you are a dove I fear I am not worthy of your love I see you when I see the stars With tear in eyes and face with scars Which were carved with years of pain With years of sorrows, grief and shame And I have but myself to blame For keeping my heart, unwatched untamed And yet I find peace in this game Had I not loved I would have lived in vain I am very guilty of this crime For having loved, and sang this hymn For keeping my love beyond the test of time And yet in your beauty I meditate I don't need enlightenment, I need you Because You are my moksha, you are my Nirvana You are my Meera, You are my Radha So let me play you my flute let me play you my tune You are my temple, you are my mosque So Let me worship thy name Let me worship thy frame This I must say with shame I have a confession to make Though a wretched man I may be A deep love for thee, I confess With you I want to flee With you I want to rest With you I want to age Bearing that fire in life's every stage Long after our youth is gone Our beauty with wrinkles torn Those youthful eyes, our sacred bond That holy tune in our heart is sung Cherishing those days when we were young
  11. To an intended or an unintended offense, my highly unenlightened , unaware ,egoistic and impulsive mind goes on for hours keeping a very violent, dormant , seething anger and deep, heart wrenching negativity and as I hold it for prolonged periods my soul gets burned , I get very tired, I suffer a lot. May be I am suffering from a mental condition. How do I stop my mind from latching to petty insults, , to which I helplessly mull over and nibble on for hours no matter how much illogical I can perceive it to be, which eventually saps all my life energy and takes my youth and vitality away. I can't focus enough to learn or work. Help.
  12. I really find you very wise and I am sorry if that gives an air of ambiguity and confusion which given the nature of this conversation and the applied linguistic structure isn't a very unnatural and far fetched idea. But what else can I do? I recognize real wisdom when I see it. I find it cruel to suppress this spontaneous emergence of admiration and love arising from this otherworldly touch of ethereal wisdom which could be inspired only and only from the divine influence of the holy ghost himself.
  13. My goodness. You are clearly one of the wisest guys in this forum hands down.
  14. As audacious as it sounds, this decision I believe should be carried out non the less. This place is not like an agora where every possible idea is to be happily entertained, there are plenty of other forums for that. It is not an institution established on democratic ideals for inclusion of all possible sets of ideas and beliefs , but on ideals of spirituality, enlightenment and self actualization. It is rather like a temple where people can happily come and go fulfilling their spiritual needs, like a meditation resort where people can mediate in peace. Is it good for atheists to go to a temple and start saying "There is no god, what are you stupid people doing here?". Good scientists just stay in their lab, have good time with their scientist friends, and certainly do not go from temple to temple, churches to churches, telling people that they are wrong, this entire thing is bullshit. Even Atheists like Dawkins say- "I don't care what you believe (as long as there is no conflict of interest like in legislation , climate change and so on)". People like Dawkins do not argue with their counterparts without permission. They create their own audience and conduct debate only on agreement. They do not certainly actively infiltrate their dogma in groups of people who do not hold the same beliefs. Instead what we have here is people claiming to be scientific and rational, entering this forum and undermining the very values that this place is founded upon, just for the sake of entertainment , feeling superior, having the thrill of winning an argument or feeling smart. If you have so much knowledge about science and the notion of truth based on materialists (in contrast to the spirit) and skeptics (in contrast to faith), what the hell are you doing here in this congress of people who clearly hold belief opppsite to yours? Is it right that an athiest goes to a meditation resort and start preaching his ideals? Is it right that a thiest goes to a group of scientists working on a project and start preaching his ideals? IF this forum's goal is the propagation of enlightenment knowledge , then there is absolutely no logic in keeping these anti-spiritual people who, whenever someone someone will ask a question regarding enlightenment ,won't budge a second to question the very existence of it and show the futility of the question hence, shift them towards a materialistic paradigm , and reduce the strength of this very organization which is based not on free thought, but faith in the absolute. If this forum wants to continuosly debate about whether enlightenment exists or not, then it is doing just fine. As I see it, the only reason Leo hasn't banned them yet is to maintain activity in this forum. But what I will say is that, the reason actualized.org exists is because there are many people with the faith in the absolute. There would be no actualized.org had every one abided by the materialistic paradigm. Hence, there will be no damage to the forum by banning these people, but in contrast there will be more productive and useful discussion on spirituality , furthering our horizon of understanding of the absolute , with the alternative being always stuck in the question of whether enlightenment exists or not.
  15. Don't act like you are Jesus. You come from Satan's lair. You deserve extinction.
  16. @Thanatos13 You will achieve Nietzsche's fate without the bulk of his greatness
  17. That's awesome!!
  18. HAHAHAHAHAHA what are you age 10? Calling your friends to spew the same bullshit just in a more articulated way then you can? You are clearly seeing this as a power dynamic opposed to a reasoned dialectic for truth. You are hopeless.
  19. Trump is the sort of guy who is willing to pick fight with North Korea simply to make up for a bruised ego. He is not even conscious of the consequences of his actions, he cannot even analyze the future. Instead like an animal he is forever in the present satisfying his impulsive needs, satisfying his ego (watching fox news all day) and always fighting for dominance like an animal , lying incessantly for his self-agenda and self-preservation and has complete disregard for any morality , and morality is a trait found only in human beings never in animals. Trump lacks so much awareness that even for a slight political acumen or judgement he has non of it , so associating his consciousness with anything even vaguely spiritual is out of the question.
