  3. Great post! But the last paragraph kind of threw me off... If you want to feel as good as heroin why dont you just do drugs? Mindfulness is not about feeling good, its about being present, sometimes the present is horrifying, sometimes its blissful. If you expect to feel good from just being present youre going to be dissapointed when you feel bad and then keep chasing that good feeling. It will never end.
  4. Shouldnt you stop using it knowing it triggered you in the past? What about others? Of course, this whole deal is about being mindful of how language is used, just shining a light on my daily usage is what I want to do, I wont beat myself up for not living up the some standard. Just... be aware.
  5. I want to stop using ableist language. Words like "Retard, dumb, stupid, lame" ...but also saying things like "Thats so gay". Language is something you can be mindful of. How can I use "gay" as an insult mindlessly when I have a gay brother, it makes no sense. I will be working on how I use language in the future.

  8. Im famiiar with regular old meditation but I feel like its too "in my head". Im planning to embark on a journey to discover my body through body scanning for about a year, like a daily experiment. Is anyone very familiar with this particular type of meditation? What are the benefits? Thanks.

  14. Whats with the bliss?! If I focus on my thighs hardcore for 10 minutes I feel blissful!! So weird! Love it!
  15. 5x 15 minute body-scans everyday for 1 year.
  16. The green parts is basically what I'm conscious of right now with no practice. Pretty numb... Will compare this picture in a year and see the difference.

  19. Laid down for 5 minutes just to feel my body. Focused on my forearms. Holy shit! I cant believe I'm ignoring my body all day long. My arms feel so good! Ectasy! Who needs drugs! Gonna try this exercise for my entire body. Consciousness is amazing!

Heres a short crappy story I wrote about recontextualization this spring as an exercise, make sure you give atleast 5 seconds between each line to notice how your mind keeps getting the story recontextualized. there was a guy on a boat going down the Yellow River with no shoes on a white guy from Italy with his girlfriend who had thrown his shoes in the river because she was forced to at gunpoint by another man in the boat who was from Sicily who didnt like the mans shoes because they reminded him of his father whom the Italian man had strangled out of revenge and then the credits roll there is a boy who is watching all of this take place on a drive-in cinema in Rural America in the morning the boy is skipping school
