Steam is a bad example. A lot of great titles exist on Steam that could never be made outside of Steam's open system. Steam created an entire industry of indie gaming, which was a huge plus for the game industry which was dominated by top-heavy companies unwilling to take creative risk. You could say exactly the same thing about YT. From a cable TV perspective, YT is shit because it allows any idiot to post any nonsense without even setting up his camera properly. Yet obviously this is the wrong attitude on the matter. The solution to the problem of a glut of low-quality content is simply much better search and discovery tools.

So??? Is China not allowed to create software? Lol And Facebook was literally created by the US. Yes, Chinese control is a legit problem. I was just about to post a video on my blog about that. But also, the US steals social media data too. So who are we to judge? Maybe. But also consider that's simply because in China they care about controlling free speech while in the US we do not. If the US wanted to be responsible we could ban content that rots kid's minds. But FREEDUMB! Why is China supposed to regulate the US more than we care to regulate ourselves? If the US is okay with rotting the minds of our children, why should China oppose? It's in China's interest to feed the beast. This situation actually shows us some benefits to China's style of governance. China ain't all bad. They do a lot of stuff that's in the best health of their citizens. Americans are too selfish to do that. Which, yeah, is a problem.

There has never been humans without culture. Culture is not some modern invention. Culture is older than white people, Lol. Long before white people existed, black people where killing each other over cultural differences.

Every large online platform hosts some illegal content. YT not excluded. That's just the nature of the beast. You cannot have a platform of 100+ million people and have it all be clean. People will use that platform for sick purposes because people are sick.
