  1. You confuse your personal needs and demands for what YT ought to do.
  2. You have disagreements with a governing authority? What else is new? This might be a shocking notion, but no online platform or company is run to pamper to your every personal demand. Musk will soon realize that most countries around the world do not care about the 1st Amendment and have very strict demands about what kind of speech must be swiftly taken down. And if Musk doesn't follow their laws Twitter will be kicked out of places like: India, Russia, Germany, EU, etc. Not to mention that the US government will be investigating and suing him for all sorts of privacy non-compliance, which Twitter will surely be guilty of under his careless leadership. Twitter is already under all sorts of federal injunctions for past violations. Twitter had entire departments dedicated to ensuring compliance with government regulators like the FCC and the EU -- which Musk axed. He's gonna face so many lawsuits he'll wish he never opened a Twitter account. When some mass shooter posts his racist manifesto on Twitter, or some kid dies from eating a Tied-Pod, Musk will be personally sued for that.
  3. As silly as it sounds, yes. Sometimes Noam Chomsky and Vaush refer to themselves as left libertarians or even anarchists.
  4. It's very unclear. Seems like Musk will be forced into a corner to completely overhaul Twitter in order to make it into a WeChat clone. Which might kill the whole platform. But there's also a small chance it might succeed. Musk is def not going to make any money off Twitter in its current form. His tinkering around the edges will not change anything other than invite more trolls.
  5. It looks like MAGA storming the Capitol, beating the police with Confederate flag poles.
  6. Wait till you realize that Musk has Tesla factories in China and that he will certainly be hearing from the CCP about how to manage Twitter if he wants to keep his factories operational. In India their laws literally require keeping offices and employees on their soil, so that if you fail to moderate content the gov doesn't like, they will arrest your employees. Musk's show of populism is so paper thin it's gross. When the business gets seriously, he's not gonna care about polling you for what to do. He's doing that now because he's like a child playing with a baby crocodile he just bought. That crocodile will not stay a baby for long. The Chinese are thrilled right now that Twitter is now run a single guy half of who's factories are in China. YouTube's management has been working tirelessly to serve the user's needs for 15 years. The users don't even comprehend what their needs are when it comes to social media. Nor does Musk. Musk is like an edgey teen who takes over a 1st grade classroom and polls the kids what they want for lunch: A) one bucket of ice cream, or B) two buckets of ice cream. Meanwhile a pedophile is luring kids into the bathroom. Musk shows no understanding for how devil actors will exploit and manipulate his platform. The situation with the Blue paid check marks clearly shows this. Anyone with half a brain about how such things work could have predicted that Musk's changes would be badly abused, as they immediately were. You're gonna let ANY hacker and spammer earn a blue badge by paying $8/mo to prey on your gullible userbase? What a plan!
  7. Try it and see how it works for you. You need some kind of regular spiritual practice.
  8. Look, no platform will ever be perfect. It's so silly when people cherrypick a few examples of moderation mistakes and then howl about it like wolves. Dealing with China is extremely complicated. The US government doesn't even know how to do it well. Yes he has, by firing half the staff. There's no one left to moderate anything. Plus he's allowing all the violators back. He simply doesn't believe in moderation. That's the fundamental problem. Moderating a platform the size of Twitter requires entire buildings full of dedicated staff. It's not something that just takes care of itself. Musk fundamentally doesn't understand the depth of this problem and what harm/chaos it will cause. People will be using Twitter to do everything from staging terrorist attacks, government coups, and Nazi rallies, to molesting children, to running scams, to selling drugs and high explosives, to sharing animal mutilation videos, to harassing every minority group there is, to doxxing people, to spreading every possible form of misinformation and conspiracy theory. And foreign spies will be using it to undermine democracy around the world. And Musk is just acting like he can wing this based on his personal whims. This is not 2004 internet days. These social media platforms are way too mature for that now and they have enormous responsibilities to minimize social harm and predatory behavior.
  9. YouTube handles moderation excellently. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Twitter was already an exceptionally toxic place and Musk's decisions are only adding fuel to the fire.
  10. Obviously it's my opinion. But Musk clearly doesn't know what he is doing when it comes to free speech and moderation. That much is obvious from his behavior. I'm not questioning his ability to make money, but his understanding of how to manage socio-political aspects of a platform. Musk is treating Twitter like a tech problem. You cannot code nor tech-bro your way out of politics.
  11. That's not the same logic. The fact that there is so much science is the problem. The more science the bigger the problem. You are a free speech absolutist. I am not a science absolutist.
  12. Musk is certainly amazing in his narrow fields. The problem is when he steps beyond that. Just cause I'm good at Actualized.org does mean I would be a good doctor, lawyer, or politician. But progressives and leftists definitely don't appreciate Musk's value and genius. It's just that this Twitter deal is Musk as his worst. We all have our bad days.
  13. There are many degrees of God-Realization. The highest degrees you will never reach through meditation. The milder ones you can. Mild ones are still pretty good and worthwhile.
  14. The only thing Trump is seeking is to get his fragile ego stroked by as many people as possible. There are a lot of extremely dumb conservative women. Don't underestimate that. Just look at Lauren Bobert, MTG, and Kari Lake. Women are less violent than men, but they are equally suseptible to ideology.
  15. Paypal was developed by like 10 guys. Many of them smart and serious. But also, Paypal, like most early internet successes, simply lucked out by being at the right place at the right time. That's mostly what massive success is about, not work effort or being the best. Also, success breeds arrogance. Musk's success has gone to his ego I suspect. When you get that much money, power, and fame, it really tests your character and highlights all your flaws. Musk can afford to be sloppy these days. And his political beliefs have always been shallow, as businessmen tend to be because it suits them. Ethics and good politics is bad for business. It's as simple as that. You get ahead by being a narcissitic ruthless asshole. Which is why women are attracted to it. You don't get to be the richest guy in the world without being ruthless and insensitive.
  16. Depends how your brain is wired. For some people it can work. A single rigorous 10-day retreat can get you to see what nonduality is talking around. But nonduality is not God-Realization. There are minor human benefits, but not serious existential understanding -- which is my primary concern.
  17. The funny thing is that when it comes to sex, women are far more discriminating than men. Woman is not going to give love to a low-value guy.
  18. Rings true. Musk is an immature visionary, similar to Kanye. The only way Kayne can be successful is because very serious hardworking people keep him on the rails and put up with his bullshit as part of their job. But then he takes all the credit and money.
  19. Meditation is not bullshit. It's important. You simply won't reach the highest consciousness with it. Meditation gets less bullshitty if you do it hardcore, in retreat fashion. An hour of daily meditation will basically get you nowhere even after 30 years. But a 10-day nonstop retreat will be very powerful.
  20. Being caught in a cycle of having to put out fires is to have already failed at life. If you are in such a dire situation that your life doesn't have space for theory, you are worse off than a homeless person.
  21. Things are not conscious. Humans are not conscious. YOU are conscious. YOU are not a thing and YOU are not a human.
  22. How do you know anything at all? Do you know anything? How do you know?
