The point of the video is that there exists such a thing as a genuine desire to know what is true. This desire does not depend on any particular beliefs. Care for truth is not determined by Leo's opinions or beliefs. Either she cares about truth or she does not. If she does, eventually her care will lead to questioning which will dismantle her religion. If if doesn't, then she didn't really care. How do I know this? I don't think it's so easy. There are MANY biases and much culture that all Americans have in common regardless of their political views. Politics is a relatively small aspect of culture. The best way to see that is to go live in a 3rd world country like Colombia or Nigeria or Egypt.

This fails to appreciate how deep resistance goes. Resistance to change transcends the issues of Stage Green. It existed long before Stage Green. There is a deeper dynamic at work. The ego-mind is inherently resistant to change regardless of whether the change is effective or good. The Islamists in Saudi Arabia are also resistant to liberal change. It is not because liberalism failed to properly replace their systems. The conservative mind will resist positive changes regardless of how well the changes are made. You can give an Islamist a material-techno-paradise and he will still be angry at you for allowing women to drive and sing. Conservatives will not allow a good-faith attempt to improve society because they are attached to the corruption. They love the corruption. That's key to understand. That's why they are do stubborn. Yes, but even modern socialism would still involve a heavy-handed redistribution of power and wealth, otherwise it would be pointless. But given the historical track record of socialism's implementation over the last 100 years in dozens of nations, you can appreciate why capitalists would be so leery and resistant to try that experiment again with their wealth on the chopping block. Imagine you worked hard and honest for 30 years to earn yourself $10 million dollars. And now some naive socialist comes along and suggests taking that away. Of course you will fight it tooth and nail.
