  1. Did you experience this through 5-meo, or how?
  2. Well, definitely stop doing drugs. That's gonna fuck up everything no matter how hard you work at personal development. No drugs except psychedelics for spiritual growth purposes << That's just a baseline rule you gotta start following. And ditch any hard drug user friends, because they will only pull you down. Also ditch any gambler friends, they will pull you down. Then start a daily meditation habit. You need to ween yourself off of materialism. Start to notice that there is nothing satisfying about materialism, even when you get everything you want. Money, women, cars, houses, gadgets, etc. None of this stuff is fulfilling. Start to notice this so that your focus gradually shifts to growth, learning, love, consciousness, deep relationships, life purpose, etc. Find a healthy and fun activity to replace your gambling habit. Because you will certainly backslide as you continue this self-development journey. Have a plan ready for when you backslide. You might want to look into do a week-long meditation retreat. You might want to look into psychedelics if you're hooked on recreational drugs. Psychedelics will also be good for combating your materialistic attachments. If you're seriously addicted to recreational drugs, research Ibogaine treatments clinics. Your life will never be the same again.
  3. There are so many cool fringe topics within personal development that I wish I had more time to explore. It would take several lifetimes to experiment with all the cool and powerful stuff out there. We need an army of consciousness explorers and cartographers!
  4. The illusion is far far deeper than anyone imagines. It's an illusion inside an illusion inside an illusion inside an illusion. As soon as you think you're out of the illusion, you're right back in it at a deeper level.
  5. No, just the opposite. Evolution is highly conscious and loving. Life is inherently awesome. The problem is that this cannot be seen from the egoic perspective. You MUST grasp what life is at the level of Absolute, which is beyond anything possible to imagine as a self.
  6. @JJR Intuition actually is beyond beliefs and past experiences. Beliefs and past experiences can cloud the intuition. Intuition is that really deep voice inside you which innately speaks from love, consciousness, and goodness. It is possible to just sit down and tap into intuition, cutting through all the beliefs and past experiences. From this deep source, you can get very high-quality guidance. It might be hard for you to do that if you have a lot of beliefs and past negative experiences.
  7. Spiral Dynamics proves useful here. Stage Orange consciousness tends to teach Stage Orange things in Stage Orange ways while emphasizing Stage Orange values which resonates with other Stage Orange consciousnesses. Which isn't to say its good or bad. But just to give you a rough map of what's going on. Mainstream self-help has to be aimed at Stage Orange or Stage Green, because there's just not enough higher stages around. And of course Stage Orange really cares about being mainstream because one of its greatest values is big success.
  8. @Dodoster The practical issue here is not to rest on one's intellect but to pursue Nothingness directly. You ain't got it until you got it. The left brain is not ever going to get it. So just beware of that trap is my point. Until you're enlightened, you should really just treat enlightenment as any other conspiracy theory. Careful not to believe in it too much. Hold it as a tentative hypothesis which could break true or false, or even some third option.
  9. @JJR Right, which is why knowing your own values really well is important. And developing a connection with your intuition is important. And setting clear boundaries is important. This is basically the difference between living each day consciously vs mechanically. The mechanical approach used by 99% of folks to leads backfiring and then much suffering. Life is too complex to live it mechanically. Which is why you're a human and not a robot. People lose touch with their humanity and become robots. And that's when shit hits the fan. And then they wonder, "Am I just supposed to accept all this shit?"
  10. That's cool. Wanna experiment with it at some point when I get time. Seems like there is a lot of potential in those practices. Keep us updated.
  11. @Dodoster Whatever your mind imagines Nothingness to be, it's wrong. Nothingness is not nothingness.
  12. @Extreme Z7 The distinction between perception and non-perception is arbitrary.
  13. @abrakamowse Don't be so sure about that. If the whole world would awaken today, tomorrow we would have nuclear Armageddon from all the Zen devils fighting over who's farts smell more like daffodils.
  14. @JJR Acceptance is the most effective position from which to make a conscious change. The problem is that people mistake acceptance and understanding with inaction or putting up with crap. Just the opposite. Acceptance involves accepting that you might have a tough action to make, like leaving the person who you loved but who cheated on you. So real acceptance looks like this: You accept that someone cheated on you. You understand why it happened to the point where you stop blaming them. You consciously let go of the anger. You accept responsibility for the situation. You query your highest self of what the best course of action is going forward. You decide to break off the relationship. You break it off and move on with constructing the kind of life you want. You grow your consciousness as a result of this whole situation. You ALWAYS accept things as they are, because they cannot be otherwise. That's the definition of truth. But then you are free to act however you deem most conscious.
  15. As sure as gravity, what goes up will come down. And when you're more aware, the fall hurts harder A lot of awakeness is heaven, a little bit of awakeness is a bitch.
  16. You will not know until you experience it for yourself. You cannot even begin to imagine what reality actually is at the deepest level. Nothing I say can even give you a faint idea of it. It's utterly unspeakable. Infinity can certainly be attained. Many people have glimpsed it, including my humble self. It is possible to awaken from life. You cannot understand what this means yet because you've never truly awoken.
  17. Intention matters a lot. Set the right intention, meditate on it, and start taking baby steps. Nothing grand gets accomplished overnight in this work. It's like steering an oil tanker. You gotta see the big picture and have appropriate expectations.
  18. Nothing like a psychedelic trip to re-fill one's sails If you haven't ever tasted existential Truth, it's really hard to be motivated towards it. Once you have tasted it, all your priorities become clear. Because nothing tastes as sweet. I gave a former girlfriend 1g of mushrooms. Turned her whole understanding of reality around. Wouldn't have been even remotely possible otherwise for her. And that was only like 1% of 1% of what consciousness is capable of.
  19. @Wormon Blatburm To an abusive, alcoholic family a healthy loving family sounds like Utopia. To a 3rd world country, a 1st world country sounds like Utopia. To a neurotic person, an enlightened person sounds like Utopia. Just go read some of the comments people leave under my 40 Signs That You Are Neurotic video. They say things like: "According to your description, Leo, me and all my friends are neurotic, and everyone is neurotic." No, not everyone. Everything in your bubble != everything. Be careful judging what's possible based on what you've presently got. That turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  20. Of course there can be healthy society. Society based on values like: consciousness, openmindedness, tolerance, love, community, benevolence, education, freedom, equality, sustainability, truth, peace, spirituality, and holism. When you experience a community that really embodies these values, it's an amazing thing. It's nothing like modern 1st world countries. Most people simply don't know what healthy society is, because they've never experienced it, and don't even have an idea that it's possible and that it has been executed on small scales.
  21. @Wormon Blatburm It may be, or it may not. Life is full of randomness too.
  22. @StarfoxEpiphany Could be. Just ask yourself with self-honesty what the deal was. Your psyche knows.
  23. @StarfoxEpiphany That's not necessarily homeostasis. That's more like shit hitting the fan. Homeostasis would be like: "I was advancing on all fronts but then all of the sudden I got depressed and watched 8 hours of TV while eating 2 gallons of ice cream." Shit does just happen sometimes and it's not always your psyche's fault.
  24. No, move forward and keep pondering your values over the next few months. They will evolve and get refined. This is a gradual process.
