That's not an ontological truth, that's just common business practice. You don't have to be a devil. You can work your way up through hard work. But it will be hard. People who earn tens of millions quickly are usually doing some kind of exploit. It's hard to get that kind of money through pure hard work. Or they are selling something very low consciousness or unhealthy, like dick pills. Most rich people are extremely good at finding exploits in society. Which is how they got so rich.

What doesn't make sense is why he would be teaching marketing if he sold his business for tens of millions. People who are good at creating legit businesses do not teach marketing or how to create businesses. They just run their businesses and make tons of money from that. Guys who teach about marketing... YOU are their business. What these marketing gurus do is create a backstory for themselves to then sell their marketing services to you. Do you see any Silicon Valley billionaire teaching marketing? No.

It's always possible to get lucky with your investments. But he clearly had a brilliant design sense. He understood what makes a great game. Which is not easy to understand.

@Greatnestwithin It's never just about working hard. You must work hard towards the right things. Hard work towards the wrong things won't get you anywhere. He didn't just work hard. He selected a brilliant project. Selecting the perfect project is really challenging and beyond most intellects.

Working as hard as he did is definitely not healthy nor sustainable. But power to him if he can pull it off. He worked hard enough in 5 years to retire.
