Is focussing on knowledge instead of outcome is the key to performing better in exams

3 posts in this topic

So , I was playing caroom board game with my younger brother. I used to lose a lot in this game against my brother. This time instead of focussing on winning the game I I focussed on knowledge of the game - like how to use the striker efficiently to get the points. I mean it was an actual physical game. And I won 2 subsequent games. As counterintuitive it sounds , is it true? So I am wondering that is the same things applicable in academia and exams?
