Here is a healthy mantra that may help

1 post in this topic

Never ask anyone to do anything that you wouldn't do.

Never put up with anything that you wouldn't want a loved one to put up with in their relationships.

The first one deals with people's selfishness, they want others to do for them what they would refuse to do.

The second one is for very giving people, they want others to be more selfish, but they themselves would not choose to be that selfish.

So figure out what perspective you tend to lean towards. Are you a person who is very giving so much you might be a pushover? Or are you a person who is the one who pushes people over? LOL.

Notice that in both scenarios...its the distance from the activity that allows clarity.

As always...there are always exceptions....don't use any mantra as dogma or ideology, its a guide, a tool nothing more nothing less.

The same strength, the same level of desire it takes to change your life, is the same strength, the same level of desire it takes to end your life. Notice you are headed towards one or the other. - Razard86
