Could be. Try to look deeper. How come one would doubt one's very existence to the point that this expression would even need to exist? Why would you need to believe in yourself in the first place if you presumably are yourself?

I've come to realize that there's a fundamental gap in people's ability to perhaps 'pay attention.' The nature of this so-called bridge is missed. Hmm... Not sure how to explain myself.

A huge part of this disparity lies in not realizing how stuck we are in our minds. For the most part, it's all intellectual consideration - and we fail to see that, no matter how many times it's said.

What we have opened up so far in this experiment is an opportunity to see clearly that most of us are not clear about where our experience of the world, of others, and of ourselves in the world is actually happening.

In other words, we often encounter life through some theory or belief, rather than encountering life as we actually live it. As a result, we attempt to understand life as it is encountered through these theories or beliefs, rather than understanding life as it is actually lived. Consequently, we interact with life (the world, others, and ourselves) from these theories or beliefs, rather than interacting with life as it is actually lived.

A master encounters life as it is lived and, as a consequence, deals with life as it is lived, rather than through the filter of some theory or belief.

It is not that a master has no theories or beliefs; rather, a master holds his or her theories, beliefs, knowledge, and experience, so to speak, above himself or herself, so that they do not act as a filter but instead illuminate what is encountered.

Among the worst things we can do is give students the impression that they understand something they do not really understand, that something has been explained when it has not been explained, and that a problem has been solved when it has not been solved.
