Spirituality and masculinity

1 post in this topic

I wanted to talk about this topic of spirituality and masculinity because I feel like it needs to be addressed. Its important for everyman to have masculine qualities while doing spiritual work but I feel like it's not very well taught.

I think there is a misconception between men and spirituality, because typically most spiritual teachings arise from teaching you how to be so calm and peaceful, never yell, never raise your voice or stand up for yourself because everything is love, be the nice guy ect.  Typically the category of the new age hippies. Although some of these things are relevant and very useful, but they tend to leave out the masculine traits.

Not to be rude or anything but some of these dudes who do new age spirituality dont have any masculine qualities in them at all. I feel Leo is one of the very few that teaches spirituality but also has masculine qualities while doing so. As suppose to these other spiritual new age teachers.

Let's use the example of some new age hippie guy getting bullied or harassed by some other dude. What is he supposed to do exactly? Is he supposed to stay calm and peaceful not raise his voice or stick up for himself?

OR raise his voice get a little pissed off and even punch the guy if the guy is touching him? What would be the better option? Because if you don't raise your voice and don't have any masculine qualities alot of people are going to walk all over you.

So with that being said spirituality and masculinity isn't addressed very well in some of these other new age spiritual teachings, because then again they are so calm and peaceful but hold no masculine qualities. So advice on how to be masculine and spiritual at the same time?
