Best Way To Water Fast For My Unsolvable Illness.

6 posts in this topic

I have this weird disease where after eating I must brush me teeth, gums, tongue and cheeks for over an hour if I want to be pain free. It wasn't always this bad but recently I've been having to thoroughly cleanse out my entire mouth for more time than I can manage. When I go to the dentist they say they aren't familiar with my affliction and they say I should see a doctor. When I see a doctor, they also say they've never heard of my issue and suggest I see a dentist.

Obviously there is no viable solution in the professional medical industry that will help me. So I've decided to try an extended water-fast. I recently just broke a 4 day water fast that didn't really help my issue too much, and surprisingly there is a specific part of my gums that is very sensitive at the moment. More than ever before despite the fast, that did improve every other part of my mouth.

I feel like I should be on antibiotics or something but I'm wondering if it's okay to take medication while fasting. I want to commit to a 40 day water fast to help myself, and if that doesn't work I'll undoubtedly be fucked and likely dead within a few years. I have heard it's best to fast without taking medicine because the point is to rest the metabolism or whatever.

Despite my research I can't really find too much to point me in the right direction regarding what my approach should be to adhere to a viable water-fast regimen specifically regarding if I should be taking medicine or supplements or whatever. I would appreciate any help. I guess it'd be nice to not die or whatever, idk, maybe I shouldn't care, but I am humanly programmed to pursue whatever aids my survival so I suppose that's what I'll do.

Should I fast with supplements and take antibiotics?

How will the healing benefits of the fast be compromised if I take additional medications?

Thanks.

I don't know what this could be but I have some ideas.

Are you taking notes on what you eat and the severity of the pain of that particular type of food? Lets say I eat cucumber and the pain/reaction is a 7 (of a scale of 10) Maybe this way you can find some patterns?

Have you tried going to the hospital and explain your situation to them?

I get the impression you have had this all your life?

I think this is an allergic reaction to some chemicals in the food to the tongue or gums and the reaction spreads through the whole mouth area, but that's a maybe.

@NOTintoxicated have you spoken to a psychiatry doctor? Sounds like a textbook OCD which can be diagnosed and usually treatments are available (both medical & holistic).

Probably best to get an appointment with psychiatrist so you have something on the paper you can work with. Don't just jump into antibiotics without knowing what you're up against. Seek a second opinion if you get dismissed.

While I appreciate the input, I'm mainly just looking for ways that taking medicine will affect a water fast. I don't have OCD, seems a bit odd and condescending that you would so confidently ascribe these symptoms to a mental disorder.

Having a mental health condition is no different from having IBS or having asthma. Brain can get ill as much as the body can. OCD does not mean you are crazy and I am not saying anything like that. But the behaviour that you described is often common in people with this condition. Being overly keen to get something done to a degree that it borderlines with obsession. It could be cleansing teeth, it could be washing hands, it could be needing to vacum clean your house 10 times a day.

I apologise if my comment came as an offence to you, it was not meant as such but maybe speaking to a mental health specialist could help you with the next steps. Granted, this was not what you asked but otherwise you are stabbing in dark and there are many things that fasting cannot cure. And if that doesn't work it is just more guessing game where if you have something specific you can now look up experts on that condition to guide you.

What kind of pain is it, could you describe it in more detail? Do some foods cause greater pain than others?

Certainly don't take antibiotics unless you want to destroy your entire microbiome and develop candida or IBS issues. You don't even know whether you have a microbial infection or not. Also, brushing your teeth for 1 hour straight is extremely damaging, maybe your tooth enamel is all worn down from all the brushing, in which case you'll have to quit any acidic foods, sugary foods and grains while consuming plenty of high quality dairy and green juices to remineralize the teeth.
